    Yep, no longer will people be able to do some work once and then keep selling copies the same thing over and over. They will either record music because they love to do it, or they will perform live and charge people for the performance. En sum, they will have to work each time they want to get paid, just like the rest of us. I shudder at the thought!

  • Tynan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty obviously good choice for them. They know that they'll gain much more in stealing from foreign (mainly US) content providers than they'll lose in revenue to local content makers, a la Chinese intellectual property law.

    I wonder if I'd get pissed off at all the freeloading that goes on if I were American. Same thing happens with drugs and military protection. It actually could be somewhat irritating.

    Though you have to wonder whether the lawmakers there have a full load of bricks. Theyve done some pretty stupid stuff before (notable: unemployment benefits). Im not sure if alienating the music industry like this is the way to go...

The other one was someone bought a dvd and wanted to copy it but couldn't due to the css encryption. He successfully sued the movie studio and as a ruling they had to provide him with an unencrypted copy of the movie.

    Actually, we now have unlimited international phone calls as well: I don't pay to call the U.S. anymore. And that's in addition to the 8mbps internet connection and over 200 TV channels.
    All that for 29,9€/month...

    And it's still not legal to download music for personnal use ^^.
    The french association of music producers and the government will try to make a law hardest, wich condamn download, copy for personnal use and using of some open-source softwares, this is going to be worst in the next few months, even if this "ammendement"(wich means a first accepted law) gave me a little hope.

    ps : "vive la france" is true but "viva la france" is a little spanish ^^
