No soulja boy. - RobertWright, on 08/13/2009, -0/+1150 cent finally lose the money crown!!
- villainousT, on 07/09/2009, -1/+10surprised to see common on the list. I knew he was getting more popular, but I thought he was still under the radar for the most part. Good for him.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+10I RIP AND I RHYME I RHYME AND I RIP

Dylan...because I spit hot fiyah. - Rezistik, on 07/09/2009, -0/+8What is with the Hip Hop hate on digg? The people who generalize the topics discussed in the song need to take a step back and look at the majority of rock music. It is about drugs sex violence, all the things that people complain hip hop contains too much of. Hip Hop and Rock are very similar. As far as subject matter goes there are independent and even popular rappers who dedicate themselves to more in depth thoughts such as political subjects and other things. The same is said of Rock, some groups concern themselves with politics etc. Please stop talking about how terrible rap music and culture is when it is no different then Rock Music.
I get tired of having to defend rap music...
If you don't like rap because of how it sounds, then don't listen but please don't talk about it in a way that is so very disrespectful when the things you complain about nare no different than Rock music.
Sure if you listen to classical than feel free to complain I guess - pitdog, on 07/09/2009, -1/+8stupid Forbes, cannot make a normal list on one page
- lalilulelo, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4I'm shutting down the studio.

*****! - jc7012, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Your too close mahn!
- skinny01, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4Remember Common also does movies. And he isn't under the radar, most people into hip hop listen to him. He's just not "pop" sellout ignorant acting like lots of the others.
- sgvprelude, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2apparently from rapping
- YourNameHere1, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2Johnny's in the basement, mixin' up the medicine...I'm on the pavement, thinkin' about the government.

- muleskinner, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3***** Forbes and their ever-***** slideshows. Not only do the ***** up on the idea of providing easy to navigate content, they also manage to ***** up allowing me to browse at my own speed.
- trav6, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2Yup, he is a great artist, but gets most of his money from movies.
- pathouston22, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I know, thanks for acknowledging it.
- BoutDemCanes91, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2Where's Soulja Boy? I know that guy is making millions of dumbasses that buy that crap he calls music.
- e36wheelman, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1That might be because you don't listen to it. It's easy to bash things you don't listen to. It's obvious you have no idea about rap or hip-hop, in your post at the top you called one of the most famous rappers, Kayne West, Cane.
- brainpile3000, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Andre 3000 was in Transformers 2?
- e36wheelman, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1I'm pretty sure he put out an album last year.
- pathouston22, on 07/09/2009, -4/+5Whole bunch of *****. Probably less than 5 of them deserve it for actually making decent music. Indie hip-hop is where it's at.
- enozten, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1no master p or jermaine dupris? those guys had the nicest cribs
- indraneel24, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Just because Digg loves to bash him doesn't mean there isn't a fanbase out there for him.
- NYConcepts, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2He's been doing movies, that's why. He's top 5 on my list!
- quadsixmafia, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1you're so cool
- okubax, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2grow up
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2come on guys some of these guys actually make good music, eminem, jay-z, T.I, common, kanye west, the game, ludacris, they all make good quality music, and ludacris is a pretty good actor if any of you have seen him in crash, and law and order SVU.
- okubax, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1lol
- cjr71244, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1unfortunately complaining won't make it go away, I wish. Just bury this story
- cjr71244, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1I wish i didn't have to listen to it but it's everywhere I go, on a majority of the radio stations and many of the tv shows. A lot of the "artists" are in movies now, why??
I don't mind it if the song topic is intelligent, KRS-1, Public Enemy for example. I just don't get it or get into it. - cjr71244, on 07/09/2009, -5/+5hip hop culture is such a turn off
- okubax, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1surprised to see Kanye still on top of 50....and ***** Forbes and their ******** slideshows
- bkurilko, on 07/09/2009, -0/+0I would love to see this same kind of list from 10 years ago. "Who the ***** was that?"
Popular music is pretty much everything music is not. - vulcanius, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1It's amazing that doctors study for years, go deep into debt doing so, save lives every day, and yet even the best of them still make chump change compared to the people on this list. Life just isn't fair.
- arthursk, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Ok, after his micro-royalties from one album hes looking at a couple hundred thousand MAX, that's if people actually bought it... Hes making 5+ million doing what? I guess he still has a bunch of sheep following him since his g-unit days but I still don't see it. Maybe he's still getting royalty cuts from his g-unit garbage or by the idiots who dug me down buying his albums.
- AraleNorimaki, on 07/09/2009, -2/+2rap is crap
- arthursk, on 07/09/2009, -1/+0Hm... the game is really making 6 million ?? doing what?
- jba68, on 07/09/2009, -2/+1Just because I'm not a fan of rap, doesnt mean I'm not open minded. Rap is just overproduced screaming dubbed over already on the market beats, with lots a hoes in the video's.
- AlifKhan, on 07/09/2009, -1/+0I cant believe 50 made so much off of Vitamin Water.
