  • ElGanyan, on 12/07/2008, -1/+8No, it's not really. I'm not entirely familiar with the D200 but I'm sure it shoots at upwards of 5 frames (photographs) per second or more. It's similar to using a regular digital video camera but with a much slower frame rate (which normally range from 24fps to 30fps). The post production is just as easy, since all major editing suites allow the importing of video as photo sequences. These cameras auto sequence the shots numerically so all you have to do is pick the first photo of a series and tell the software to import as an image sequence and you've got yourself a jerky little 5fps video clip. Rinse, repeat, etc. and so forth.

    It's absolutely about the hype. Why else would they bother mentioning such details as "Made With 45,000 Photographs" if it weren't to confound and bedazzle the laymen into thinking they are seeing something particularly new or incredible.

    The technique is pasé and the video itself was average at best.
