- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Ok I'll bite, why did you put a "direct link" when the article is the same link...?
- AndroidIQ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Not really a "camera phone' ... more like an $800 camera that is also a telephone.
- neoform, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17What next, a music video of a band that recorded their album on a fisher-price tape recorder?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Still has poor picture quality compared to a 500 dollar camera that isn't a phone.
- nzgizmoguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10You can find the making of the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HrJeDno98Y&NR
- ironbear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10A music video recorded on the amazing, 1980's Fisher-Price PXL-2000 camcorder:

120 x 90 pixel resolution B&W, 15fps, analog, and delightfully dreamy looking. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7its only $600 now. But yeah, that this is a monstrosity
- W1ntermute, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Bah, The Presidents did it first, Some Postman video:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=A5TOlsmwSKg - olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Nothing wrong with a camera phone, not everyone wants to tote around a 5000$ SLR camera or even inexpensive one.
Jealousy is the only reason I can see you getting so angry at them. - sooperdooper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4link???
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Here's the new video for "an obscure song" from the "bunch of obscure songs" album by former Obscure Band lead singer Obscure Man. Music video directed by Some Jerk and filmed on a Waste of Money.
- Lounger540, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Most people 'have' to carry a cell phone and no body wants to fill their pockets with a digicam. So when you spontaniously see something you want to take a pic of it makes perfect sense to use the phone you have that can take pictures also.
- sputza, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5a $100 Kodak ***** box digicam will take better video!
- sooperdooper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@raabco:
Pianosaurus? - ulyssesyt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3uh...but EDITED with high-tech gear. duh.
do you know how many bands do this, for god's sake? big freakin deal. - quamb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't get annoyed at the folks using camera-phones as their camera - but do get annoyed with the companies that sell these camera-phones as legitimate cameras.
Megapixels and fit-in-your pocket marketing techniques do not make a good image - Truth is, those little plastic lenses will never spit out nice quality photos. No depth of field, no low light shots, no rich colours etc etc etc. - Topher06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is why I don't watch music videos anymore.
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well that and there isn't really a place to watch them anymore,at least in the U.S, MTV and VH1 both switched to the crazy ex non celebrity reality show format years ago.
- lament, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it's funny how having 5 studio albums, a b-sides album, 13+ singles on major and independent labels, and touring worldwide to sold out audiences over a 10 year span is "obscure."
- anaxaplaysia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dugg it. Nice work. Cool song and I wouldn't care if it was shot on Polaroids with stop motion. The tools are not the issue the end result is the art. Good job.
- lament, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Still has poor picture quality compared to a 500 dollar camera that isn't a phone."
there's a slightly better looking version on Yahoo Music.

By any chance, do you have some MP3s to share? =) - ringo380, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Check out the "making of" link that someone posted above. I'm not sure why using a tripod suddenly rules it out as being filmed by a camera phone.. but yes, it IS entirely filmed by one, and yes, he is using a tripod through much of it.
Like someone said before though.. it looks like it's primarily a camera with a phone built in. - nonesupplied, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Gee whiz, Kid! You've got what it takes to make it big in this industry, see!
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Along a similar path, a HQ recording of some very impressive music made using children's musical 'instruments':
Self - Gizmodgery - kman2k1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I knew the area looked familiar, then the Liquor Foods shot confirmed it. This was shot in my resident city of Palm Springs, CA.
- ghettron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This is OK, but i hold the claim to the first music video shot entirely on a camera phone way back in 2004. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQcM_g-t92U It can't be disputed, look it up.
Even though my video sucks, I think my claim is a much more important one. I was working at QCIF resolution for gods sake (mine was shot with a Nokia 3650).
It actually started out as a joke but ended up getting a little press, so i ran with it. Does anyone remember?
By the way, I also shot the 2nd music video shot entirely on a camera phone about a week later.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grqWSTYgtmI - detrate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's really cool how they recorded underwater
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cool, never hard of them.. Self is much more recent, and some really good music, but thanks for the HU, I'm going to have to do some searches for Pianosaurus.
- progosk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1couple of places actually:
antville: http://videos.antville.org
shotsringout: http://www.shotsringout.com/
the latter has an apocalyptic post regarding the video under discussion here:

oh, and: there's cliptip, too: http://cliptip.blogspot.com/ - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7"Entire Music Video Shot on a Nokia N93!"
yeah, it shows. - ghettron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Refer to my post below. I, in fact, did it first.
- briman4031, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not a new idea. A year ago we were testing ways to use Nokia N90's to shoot PSA's etc.
http://www.nmi.uga.edu/mmworkshop/ - squirrelza, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Ok? Well ***** done. No digg from me!
- dengzhi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1marked as lame.
- tdiddy54, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1This is lame. Big Deal.
- raabco, on 10/12/2007, -15/+10Bad music, bad cinematography, bad picture quality, viral marketing.
Digg front page?
YOU BETTER ***** BELIEVE IT! - zadadka, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I'll agree with the "good song".
The video was not entirely shot on the Nokia though, there's too much colour quality, image quality and ...er....fairly obvious ......the steady hand of a tripod for that. - SicKn3sS, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0how lame...
- sputza, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I don't see the point of shooting a music video using a phone.
I would go buy or rent an HD videocam and do it that way. OLD SCHOOL all the way! - DollaDollaBill, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5marked as ***** spam
- larsonc, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Wow, I was apparently in a different world when I wrote the comment; my bad.
- 8177, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Well, ***** happens.
- larsonc, on 10/12/2007, -27/+3Maybe it's just me, but is anybody else getting sick of YouTube video having poorly synched audio? Good song though...
