Then: chmod +x mozart.sh and then: ./mozart.sh
Sit back, relax, move mozart.tgz to web accessible dir...download..unzip..listen. - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14If only Mozart was a sea turtle, he might still be alive.
- elpayo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Somewhere, on a copy-protected server, a Salieri concerto is weeping.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17You realize that by doing this, you are stealing food from the mouths of the families involved in producing and selling those cheaply made classical music CDs at your local retailer, right? You are all terrorists.
- 0Troy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Hmmm, sounds like a trick... Isn't Mozart signed with the RIAA???
- tristanj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@moussa
the best symphony for someone new is number 40. Mozart wrote only two symphonies in a minor key, and this is one of them. You may recognise the main theme of the first movement.
Number 41 is considered by some his greatest work but it is not so accessible. - ColMustard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If you aren't an avid listener of classical music, I would recommend you download Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor. It's one of his best and some of the greatest music ever written.
- steveng, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No tarun, you need to run it through BabbleFish :)
- Mullinsmcd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4For Classical music n00bs who just wanna get it because its free *****, make sure you at least get #41
- saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They're under public domain, seumas.
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Happy belated 250th bday, Moz.
- skillet2extreme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Im surprised no one pointed out that some of these MP3s are surround mixed. Here's the website : http://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/amm/download/mp3surround/termsofuse.html to download the decoder (and encoder as well) so you can enjoy them in all their surround sound glory.
- LucasOman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like A. Mozart--there's no doubt he was brilliant--but, I think proliferation was more a product of his genius than quality. Aside from a few pieces, I find his music largely formulaic, much like Vivaldi's (different eras, I know). I'm not saying they're not great to listen to, though.
Personally, I think that music by composers like L.v. Beethoven and Rachmaninoff (different eras, I know) is more unique and heartfelt. LvB's Violin Concerto in D (op. 60? 61?) or Rach 2 could bring tears my eyes. Or what about LvB's Springtime Sonata for violin and piano? Holy cow. - Anarkast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3automagically:
If you use osx

great little tool. - nilclop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For someone that's been on digg for less than a day, you sure are dead set at pissing people off. First of all, you have no idea what you're talking about, second nobody cares what your opinion is. Here's a little friendly advice; If you want to stay on digg you better tone it down a bit, because if you keep this up, you're headed for an IP-ban pretty quick.
- Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mozart's good, but I've always preferred Holst. Still, free/legal music always gets a Digg.
- nilclop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@maxlogan
Do you even know how much of the modern music that you listen to is based on some of this "classical crap"? - bluffcityjk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2maxlogan, you are exactly what's wrong with digg. Whay don't you shut the ***** up and go away, *****.
- diggerphelps, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Danish National Radio is now called "Rose of the Prophet Mohammed" Radio.
OK, I need a pastry. - buryme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Since I can't read any of that, can anyone tell me which orchestra is performing these?
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's hard to find complete symphonies. A lot of P2P has bad or incomplete classical music. A lot of mislabelling as well.
- stevierocks33, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1hey you stupid *****, i just created digg account just to tell you how ***** retarded you are, there is no ***** copyright on ppl who've been dead centuries ago, retarded ass mother *****.
- jimreynold2nd, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1You think they released those songs to the public domain without asking for the performer's permission?
And if you think that ALL music should be charged to be listened to, you are such a big loser. - moussa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1can anyone recommend which symphonies are the best to download?
- seanalltogether, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually all the ones I've sampled so far have some dude talking in Danish in the beginning for a bit...so no tarun.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Danish infidels! The name Mozart shares three letters with the name Mohammed! And he was a Freemason, which is incompatible with Islam! We will not tolerate this insult! Death to Denmark!
- 0Troy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@kajoob
I hear he had a tattoo that read M-DAWG across his back in olde english - 0Troy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@saysaknow
Actually, if we copy it to a media device (CD, MP3 Player, etc.) THEN that's recreation and distribution!
*0Troy quickly gets hauled away for copying the music into his brain after listening to it* - CLASSICAL35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dear Friends,
Good Evening and Greetings.
I love Mozart's Music specially his Symphonies and Canons. I learnt the violin at the age of 10.
I am a Fan of Classical Music from South Asia and I am a South Asian Christian of Portuguese Descent.
I have clicked on the mp3 files that was provided by a member on this list but "Page not Found" came up all the time for all the files.
Is there anyone here who could please send me these mp3 files on Mozart's Symphonies ?
Alternatively, Is there any Site affiliated with this Danish Podcast that I can download these Symphonies from ?
I would be most grateful if even a few, could be sent.
In my country Classical Music is hard to come by.
Regards, - augo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1just had to register... tarun, you should know that music is not in any language right? and you know Mozart was German right?.... sooo... no, they are not in english... BTW, Im danish, and yes we are very upset about the Muhammed drawings, and how they get more publicity than the Madrid Bombings...
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Just to be clear--these classical music symphonies are in ENGLISH, right? :)
- lament, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1or just use the Download Them All Firefox extension like I just did..
- AllanH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@thewhitefedora
Not to be overly pedantic, but that's not necessarily "Linux" code; it's a shell script that will run on any *nix that has wget and tar.
I've finally had enough of not having wget (it's apparently not installed by default) on my mac. Off to DarwinPorts (maybe Fink) I go.
Cool Digg! Thanks :-) - njbair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To trim the files (I removed the clapping and the talking) I used a free Windows app called MP3DirectCut. Works pretty well.
- Chucklz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For everyones benefit, W.A. Mozart was Austrian not German as some think/have written. He was born on 27 January 1756 in Salzburg.
- elpayo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"WOLFGANG! This is Wolfgar." Will free downloads be the way to get the kiddies to groove on the old masters?
- thewhitefedora, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for your teachings

- MicahC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Amadeus Amadeus, oh, Amadeus.
Amadeus Amadeus!
...someone had to sing it. - MikeWeller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+109:12 of Mozart_symf_40_high.mp3 - A GUY SNEEZES!
- linz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just for your information. DR is the national danish radio, and it is their own orcestras playing these symphonies.
- bluffcityjk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2To quote buddamagoo:
"Maxlogan: Go ***** yourself asswipe." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why do you spell Mozart "Mozzart" and Mac "MAC?"
Mars Volta sucks ass. Educated people listen to Mozart. Hey, if you're saying you're not educated, that's coo' homie, yo. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah I feel bad not using bittorrent and downloading straight from the server. Getting good speed though, over 400 KB/s with DownThemAll.
Classical Music... Relax, It's Good For You!
I was jammin out to some Vivaldi the other day in my car, I could mosh to his stuff RArrArrR1!11!! - Anarkast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why are some of you talking about downloading them individually? It's in iTunes as "Mozart 250 år" at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=120504854 - I just subscribed.
- Beej, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I must be getting old. I'm cooking food at home, and this stuff sounds good.
Where's my metal collection? - hourog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad........... the pages seem to be down. 404 error now
- finnegan121, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone who says Mozart isn't copyright is right, but missing the point. The RECORDINGS of Mozart are (mostly) still under copyright, but anyone can perform it for free. That's why we're not being allowed to download the Deutsche Grammophone recordings.
- digdugdig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is performed by the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. It's copyrighted by Danish Radio (DR), so it's only free in the sense that they don't charge you for downloading this. Great stuff, btw, especially since they offer it as DRM free mp3-files.
- fnot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Mozart's Requiem is very good, especially Rex tremendae (track 5?) - gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it. I think a high bitrate FLAC version is floating around as a torrent somewhere. -
