- flash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3well the problem seems that most of these projects dont seem to ever take off when it comes to kevin rose. No offense really, but look at thebroken.org, 3 episodes and that was it. Twit is continuosly late more and more every week. Im actually suprised that digg is still doing sorta ok as long as it has. Maybe now that he is devoting his whole time to these projects they will actually take off, but I guess thats why there are so many skeptics right now.
- Maagic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I refuse to vote after only one episode (and a mediocre one at that)
- jjafuller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm inclined to agree with Maagic. Maybe after about ten or so, to make sure it is "real"
- Randy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3After the first Diggnation podcast, I will never listen again. It was not even close to the quality I expected. I will be turning to TWiT for my weekly tech news.
- pibby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting really tired of these types of story submissions. Obviously, if we like it then we will subscribe to it on iTunes, tell others about it on our/others' websites, and vote for it at Podcast Alley. I don't need a daily reminder telling me to go vote for something. If the work or project is any good then people will subscribe, vote, spread it around online.
I agree with others that you can't expect something to be #1 after just one episode. If subsequent episodes are decent then the rest of us will do our part to get it noticed. - manfesto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Meh, I think TWiT is a better podcast (despite its delays, it's still the most engaging and entertaining tech related hour I've come across not on TV) and would rather see it at number one. I wasn't that impressed by DiggNation, though it far from sucked. If nothing else, you'd be hardpressed to say that Kevin and Alex, despite being entertaining, were all that informative or insightful on the stories. I hope it gets better with time - and maybe in time it'll deserve to be number one (though just Kevin and Alex can't exactly match the entire TWiT roundtable or that FirstAdopter podcast).
Or maybe Kevin should stop taking on so many damn projects - at least until he's done moving or something. One thing at a time means you can do each thing well. - ButchCivic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm sorry to say I agree. I can't believe Kevin did this, the show was not that great. It's like saying Seinfeld is the best show on television after the first episode, or giving a movie an Oscar after it's only been out for a couple of days. And another thing... most of us who listen to TWiT and Engadget and watch AOTS (there I said it) have already heard about the stories that are the most dugg (iTunes 4.9, reanimated dogs (it was on the feed). And SYSTM, don't get me started, Give me something I can use not some device that costs a few hundred dollars (if not more) to build that lets me look at other peoples front yards through their wireless security cameras.Who cares! Give us use full downloads, windows tweaks, great new websites etc, not something that 5 percent of the people watching will build. Oh and wheres all the content Kevins been talking about? 2 shows in a month and a half or more. Come on man get it together! I haven't had my TWiT fix for the week, I'm sorry for yelling.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2heres the second. and a completley biased one at that because i havent listened to it nor will i because im too old for bedtime stories. i can read the thing myself and i dont need to hear a couple of overexposed folks to tell me their opinions on it.
- crippler45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1By the way last time I cheaked it was at 41 and twit at 7
- sohmageek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Only suggestion I have over Diggnation is Release the video at the same time as the Audio only versions. This way If I'm at my computer I Can watch the vid. If I'm sincing my ipod and want to listen to it instead of waiting and watching, I can do that. If I listen I'm not very likely to watch when it's the same thing (I actually downloaded the first one to find out if there was something extra, skipped around a bit then deleted it) Keep up the good work, and I'll add it to itunes when there's more eps.
- Ostermayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if I see it is worth while after a good track record of quality episodes, I will vote. In the meantime I want to see consistency and coherent discussions, not just some loosely guided and slightly tech-ish conversation. Don't want to come off negative because the first episode was entertaining, but pretty childish
- Maagic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It wasn't a "negative" one, I just wasn't that "gripped" by it... leave the teenage beer drinking and the cursing crap out and it'll be good. Also quit both talking at once... that gets annoying.
Ok maybe it WAS negative LOL... just with constructive criticism... still it's too early to be trying to inflate-vote them to #1 - don613, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why is it so important for them to let us know they drink beer? Are they afraid that we won't think they're cool? Do they equate drinking with tech? I'm a Network Admin, I don't need let people know I can drink a beer. Anyone can do that. Big deal.
- fourcorners, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't have use for the video either I'll be listening to the podcast on my mp3 player while I'm on the go. If it saves time ditch it.
- yyzUnderdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well... I just listened to the second episode on my way home today and broke out laughing a couple times! I thought it was pretty darn good and look forward to the next. It's certainly better than I could pull off!! Cheers! Keep it up guys!
- Genotik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm probably just going to download iTunes so I can vote for Diggnation and TWiT.
- flash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess I should say when it comes to the whole Screensavers cast...because kevin isn't responsible for twit.
- jmank88, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2They discusses all of the top stories from Digg from the past week, while drinking beer on a couch in an apartment... ;)
-jordan - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ditch the video.
- KyleGoetz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Mike452: No, Kevin doesn't have another job. Furthermore, he received I believe over 10,000 USD in donations to buy a good camera, and in 2.5 months has only released 2 episodes of the show people donated the money for. I'd say they have a right to be pissed off.
- fourcorners, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The real news here is that Diggnation is listed on itunes now.. Why shouldn't news like this be on Digg? If not here where? The people who comment here are so god damn nuts, every one loved this podcast a few days ago now everyone is complaining about it. The "help make it #1" thing is just trying to bolster support. When Apple does that you all swoon and let out an intense "Aaaaaaaahh" but I guess that's only when Mr. Jobs shoots sunshine up your butt. And for those that don't like digg at all, you need to ask yourself why you are here.
- mojofrojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I just do not get all the haters out there dumping on the pod cast. I thought it had a radio morning show vibe going for it. It would be nice if they went a bit more in depth with the topics but other than that a good first episode. Hopefully they keep it up and expand digg past the website. BTW, another vote against the video.
- jmank88, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Ummm, iTunes whines about the format of the video. When i try to DL it, it complains that it is a format it cannot play. So I assume it is the Bittorrent file/link or whatever, but then why even include it in iTunes?
-jordan - SilentSpyder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Diggnation is a good show, so is Twit. Today I also heard Leo's KFI podcast. They're all good and all diffrent. Diggnation is like a youth oriented news show slanting towards tech news. Twit is only Tech News and there's a group discussion. The KFI is tech caller help.
- termal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No iTunes here anyway. Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"Oh and wheres all the content Kevins been talking about? 2 shows in a month and a half or more. Come on man get it together!"
I hope people realize that these guys most likely have other jobs to make money and doing projects like these take time to film and everything. You have to plan ahead and even though it's only a few guys they still probably have to make a shooting schedule and everything. - the_gooch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Great source for news about technology on the net. Its about time for video news instead of CNN and ABC.
- fourcorners, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0The abuse of the "rate comment" feature needs to be addressed maybe there should be moderators instead of letting all users do that.
- fourcorners, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Most of these comments are off topic this isn't about twit or systm or the broken and Diggnation hasn't even had a chance to be late yet so stop it.
- crippler45, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0For all the people that are complaining you should just stop. I mean come on. these people are not doing this for a profit, there doing this for the fun of it, and a donation is just that a donation. You don't give them and expect to own it. They just take donations so they don't have to pay to have people wine at them about it being late.
- Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Looking forward to listening to future podcast while driving in my car!
- jmccorm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0So what is it? Does somsone read Digg to me?
- tfaz1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Wow, I really liked this Podcast. Frankly, I'm surprised that some think it sucked. I will say that they should forget the video, as this show is definitely better as "theatre of the mind."
- fourcorners, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Maagic I think you're alone on that one. Everyone thought it was good, yours is the first negative opinion I've seen in the comments.

What is Digg?
