- apachedisco, on 10/11/2007, -8/+111"How come Mozart never composed phat beats like this?"
Because Mozart was a genius, this is crap. - EztliNahua, on 10/11/2007, -5/+90This actually makes it sound good.
- gossipninja, on 10/11/2007, -4/+42Barbie girl is their worst song, most of their other stuff is just ridiculosy upbeat bubblegum pop that is oddly appealing. It is a guilty pleasure for sure, but my friends and i listen to rock/metal/industrial/electro, and yet oddly enjoy the saccarine sweet aqua (and tatu, cuz you know...lesbians). If you listen to bumble bees or cartoon heroes, you will probably enjoy them. And yes i am sure I am gonna get dugg down for rocking out to aqua.
- TheKingOfHell, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22"How come Mozart never composed phat beats like this?"
Because he did; From Wikipedia:
"Mozart has remained an influence in popular contemporary music in varying genres ranging from Jazz to modern Rock and even as far afield as death metal (death metal pioneers Morbid Angel have classical tracks on their albums, stated in the lyric booklets as being heavily influenced by Mozart). An example of this influence is the jazz pianist Chick Corea, who has performed piano concertos of Mozart and was inspired by them to write a concerto of his own." - Derferman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14This reminds me of Apocalyptica, a band that does this same thing with many metal songs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalyptica - healingcommoner, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Basically just a big FU to their parents
- apachedisco, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15Bah. This new comment system sucks.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart did pop music better than any artist around today. I think most people would be surprised if they listened to some of his symphony movements and chamber works at how many familiar themes they'd hear; of course they weren't cliched when he wrote them over 200 years ago.
With that said, kudos to a quality string quartet version of an annoying as hell, but admittedly catchy song. - Smills, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Change your global settings to always expand all threads, that fixes most complaints right there.
- Lynxplus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6omg if those were violins it would be Paris Hilton's theme song!
- IClavdivs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6That was very nice, but their timing was just a little bit off in parts. I've only heard the original song a couple of times which is probably why I'm not as offended by it as some other diggers on here.
- whatthefu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4This video makes me really wish I could play the cello.
- tribble222, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Someone buy these people a metronome!
- alejandrogarza, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3where can i find this type of things done with popular music?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Whats more interesting is the fact that this was on Liveleak.com heh, correct me if im wrong but I thought liveleak is the new Ogrish.com... non the less, that was the best damn vesion of that song ive heard in a while!
- geoboy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3So much for being dugg down. I guess a lot of fellow diggers like the Aqua!
*also rocks out to Aqua* - tw0k1ngs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You want to hear Mozart's "phat beats"? Check out his Oboe Concerto.
- DinX, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Search for Apocalyptica on google if you like metal. ;)
- aburrido, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2> Whoever wrote this clearly is not familiar with death metal, writing it only for "shock value"...
I think that's the writer's point: most people would not associate death metal with classical music, despite the undeniable influence of the latter upon the former. This is more a case of a writer understanding the likely knowledge of his or her readers rather than of a writer unfamiliar with the subject. - DropTheOxygen, on 10/11/2007, -8/+9That could be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in quite some time... if I couldn't hear the words in my head >.
- Cheddar79, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Yeah have to say, this was much better to listen to than that pop churned out crap. Awesome stuff I'm impressed!
- BHSPitMonkey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Buried as inaccurate; Mozart's pieces are -exactly- as bad as this.
- antdude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'd love to get a MP3 or OGG of this.
- toekneebullard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1While the subject matter and instrumentation that Aqua uses is very "bubblegum" and all, if you listen to these guys, you hear that it's actually a pretty powerful song. Good song writing is good song writing, period.
- E3L1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1dugg for dramatic ending... *sniff*
- WanderLink, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What suprised me most is that it actually sounds good played by cellos, yet sounds like complete crap as a techno chick song.
- radu79, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Really? Try www.haggard.de (a German symphonic death metal band).
- starlord1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1A North West English group of classical musicians called Litmus perform classical takes on popular music, see their facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2597720925
And yes if anyone has got the audio of this, please link us all up, I really thought it was gorgeous. - jjjjjjb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Everyone's a critic...
- manova, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Nice try, but uneven, especially the guy second from the right.
- kd1s, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Because Mozart lacked two key things. First was a constant and fairly reliable source of electric power, second is that a TR808 was just a few hundred years in the future.
- teethman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Admittedly the song is mostly annoying because of the vocals. This version makes me want to go hunts orcs in a field.
- shaun1018, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Better than the Aqua version... of course what isn't?
- crossers, on 02/25/2008, -0/+0I think this is a nice version. And there are some more like it at http://www.sooslic.com/?id=1 and http://www.emergencysoft.com
- fjsef, on 10/10/2008, -0/+0There are many children who have a favorite type of toy. This can be teddy bears, Cabbage Patch dolls, Care Bears, soft dogs and cats. They can even be the world famous Barbie and Ken dolls. These two dolls are well known by many people and not just children. While these two dolls are mainly used as toys by little girls, collectors will not hesitate to buy either of these should they come across one.
The Barbie and Ken dolls are made so that they resemble adults. The many different careers and styles of the years have an impact on the lives of these dolls. Today you will find that the world of Barbie has many accessories and items that can be used with either of these two dolls. There are also companion dolls that are of different ethnic backgrounds.

thanks - mycompy386, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0How would I get the audio from the video?
- secondreality, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0replay music
- bagelpirate, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Yes, I understand what I quartet is. I listen to a few String Quartet tribute songs.
Why did they have to play Barbie Girl? - mycompy386, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0I meant as an .Mp3 file or something like that
- rameznabel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0really nice vid
- mrcoder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Nice!
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2"and even as far afield as death metal"
Whoever wrote this clearly is not familiar with death metal, writing it only for "shock value", since metal in general is the genre that is inspired the most by classical composers, and death metal naturally extends the influence. - markdelete, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1lets see yoyo ma do this!
- Ruqsaq, on 10/11/2007, -8/+4is there an echo in here.... in here?
- hulez, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1If Orchestra Music was more like this. Id actually WANT to goto the Orchestra
- cyzum, on 10/11/2007, -14/+4My thoughts exactly. This quartet can barely play, and the one guy is completely detuned. What *****.
