The way it's worded, it sounds like you can listen to them on your phone free, but it costs if you want to actually download them for an MP3 player. The article doesn't mention what kind of limitations you get on the music on the phone, but you probably don't even download it, it streams or something. - 4NDr01D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4just dont go to verison and their crippled phones!

According to the article Cingular is in no way "giving away" music. The free part is the d/l, not the music...sure you can d/l as much free music as you'd like for only $15/mo. Still paying for the music service there geniuses, but it's nice to see Cingular at least giving something in the way of a "free download" for something that you already "own." - magical1492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://duggmirror.com

- nsummy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is free and different because you are not paying for data usage for the downloads. From my understanding of the article you can download unlimited songs from a 3rd party vendor at no cost from cingular. Sure you are paying a srvice such as napster $15 a month, but you can use Cingular's network for free. This would be the same as a free isp to download music from a Music Service.
I think the key word in the article is download and not transfer. Yes I can already put many mp3's on my cingular phone transferrring them from my computer. This is actually downloading them from your mobile device anywhere - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Sony-Ericsson s710a also plays MP3s loaded onto it's Memory Stick Duo. You do have to use proprietary headphones that come with it though, unless there's a converter available I haven't seen. It also lets you use any MP3 as a ring.

- mrskinny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2$15 is not free. I just switched to Sprint from Cingular; Cingular is a horrible ripoff, do not be fooled by their promotional gimmicks. Cingular does not value their customers. I was happy to pay their $170 cancellation fee to get them off my back. And it was fun to hear them squeal as I stomped them out of my life.

My Sprint phone a920 can play MP3's that i loaded onto my computer + I have the added ability to download OTA (over the air). Not only that, I can also do that with my New Sprint Razr, This is nothing new, in short, it is just the ability to load songs you have downloaded from your computer from paid services to your phone. Thats it. Nothig more, Nothing Less. Why is Cingular trying to make this such a big deal?
