The trick seems to be to remember how many members were in the band and to look out for certain clues, like who's the shortest frontman in hair metal? Or, who's got the longest kinky-curly hair in 'metal'? BTW: there's no Mother Love Bone curveballs or anything. Just straight up MTV.

You are just proving you are a victim of the marketing all the grunge and alternative bands put out when they wanted to get rid of the talented musicians from the scene...and the scary part is it worked. How could they convince kids their lives sucked and that they needed to be all depressed and angry if the kids were having fun at a Motley Crue gig?

I listened to way too much pop metal during the late 80s/early 90s. Hell, I've been on a pop metal kick just this week. Europe, Cinderella, Quiet Riot, White Lion, Blue Murder, Poison, Skid Row, Def Leppard, etc.
