This 'poem' seems more like a writing exercise, like a brainstorming session, to get his thoughts on paper and eventually morph them into a song. I think it's really a misnomer calling this a poem. It was just one step in the creative process, the final product was good.

Now U2 is just a pile of formulaic drudgery, and it is a shame, and it's really lame that a poem that is 14 years old gets more attention than an album that has been out just over two months. Honestly I think U2 would be just as well off to stick to touring playing the songs we all love to hear, and thus allowing Bono to continue to work on his charity organizations.

- finn, on 05/08/2009, -5/+3this isn't new (the 'poem'), infact it's a song from a side-project album/band of U2's known as 'Original Soundtracks #1' by The Passengers (U2+Brian Eno). I, for one, like it (and the album itself is pretty damned awesome if I don't say so myself).
