- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+22Actually saw him with AC DC when they opened for KISS like in 1977. Didn't know what I was looking at or even who the hell they were. I was all made up as Ace Freely. Nobody wants to be Ace Freely. Not even Ace Freely. I didn't have a clue back then.

- louiss19, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10Wow....AC DC and KISS in 1977? I'd give anything to have been able to see that!
- Abomonog, on 07/10/2008, -0/+8Scott was a great singer. It's a pity that the best ones always seem to kill themselves off early.
- nj7703, on 07/10/2008, -0/+7What an often overlooked loss to music. Ride on, Bon!
- Oztog, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6For all those about to rock, we salute you.
- arkarthicked, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6nice review tribute for vintage Bon Scott.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6Dirty Deeds and they're done dirt cheap.
- Rudegar, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6i always pref'd him over brian johnson maybe because he screamed less and sounded more drunk
- screamingjoker, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6Bon Scott > Bon Jovi
- warplayer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Most people don't know that Back in Black is actually a concept album, paying tribute to the life of Bon Scott. The songs were written in the vein he would have performed them in. Brian Johnson was emulating his style, and paying tribute.
The albums after that all still carried a bit of that sound, but you can really there was a bit of a departure there and Johnson started to do his own thing over there. - leadx, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Bon Scott was the man.
If you don't know about him, you're missing the true hard rock experience.
RIP - Bon! - 1dog, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4Probably the best songs on back in black were Bon Scott songs. Might of been the best Rock and Roll word smith of all time. Kind of like a potty mouth Jim Morrison.
- dlm85, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4Here is an odd Bon Scott fact. Journey dedicated their album Captured to Bon Scott. I think the liner notes read, " This album is dedicated to the memory of Bon Scott, a friend from the highway "
- dickeywayne, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4I said something, fairly recently, about not liking AC-DC's "new" singer as much. Boy, did I ever date myself!
- HeavyNuclei, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5Have a drink on me!
- rjejr, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3Bon Scott >>>>>>>>> Bon Jovi
- jtp51, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3By far. I wasn't very old when he died in 1980, but as I listen to AC/DC music from 1974 - 1980, my opinion is the quality and song writing was much better.
My favorite from that era is "If You Want Blood You've Got It." - FreeTalkLIve, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2He had a true Rock N Roll voice.
- jontalisman, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2Ya crack me up, Pat.
- RicDesan, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Live intensity has a middle name and its Bon Scott. Saw him twice when he was alive and the first time ACDC opened and when the next band came out ... of course decades later and I couldnt tell you who it was ... you could tell they were suddenly there to just get it over with ... ACDC was THAT good!
- loopyloopy, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1i mostly lost interest in ACDC after Bon departed this earth. that is, the music they've made since. Bon was as important as Angus to the band. i could never understand how they became so successful during the Brian Johnson years. at least it gave those newer fans a chance to look back and see what they missed.
- eengineer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+162? Wow. I bet he could still melt all of our faces. Wish he was still here
- nemojonze, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Bon > "The Screecher"
- TheSeeker11, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Check out this live performance to see the raw power AC/DC had back in the day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uXu067MTqI
- geerub, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1RIP Bon
- gkiltz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1If only he had known how to separate his act from his personal life, he might still be around to enjoy it!
- ATLien74, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1You mean Ace "Frehley"...and they did find a guy who wanted to be Ace. I think his name is Tommy. :-)
- ATLien74, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1They don't make rockstars like they used to.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1definitely, ac/dc had more classic albums good thorugh and through with bon.
brian johnson has back in black - screamingjoker, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1so true.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0bet they kicked ass as an opening band tho rite?
- Ooddiey, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0"The only rehearsal we had was just sitting around an hour before the gig, pulling out every rock & roll song we knew. When we finally got there Bon downed about two bottles of Bourbon with dope, coke, speed, and says, 'Right, I'm ready' and he was too. He was fighting fit. There was this immediate transformation and he was running around with his wife's kickers on, yelling at the audience. It was a Magic Moment. He said it made him feel young again."
Angus Young on Bon Scott's first concert with AC/DC.
