- kolobcreek, on 10/11/2008, -1/+19I always say we should look to entertainers for direction in our government.
Because you can't, you wont, and you don't stop... - Checkerd, on 10/11/2008, -4/+17Too vote for your preferred political paaarrrrrrtay!
- Rizoh, on 10/11/2008, -8/+20Just when you thought Beastie Boys couldn't be any cooler. Go Beasties!
- BossKey, on 10/11/2008, -3/+13You gotta fight...for your right!
- pintomp3, on 10/11/2008, -4/+14no sleep til washington?
- ButtSmudge, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8What would be their reaction if the respondents say ok I will vote for Mccain?
- JNudda, on 10/11/2008, -3/+10The more people who vote, the better. If you support mccain, that's fine. We especially need more young people voting, doesn't matter who for.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -2/+9Trying to capture that corny assed middle aged jewish vote.
- Kidddrunkadelic, on 10/11/2008, -0/+6Mini-tour?
Get your asses in the studio and make an album. - RobotKeaton, on 10/11/2008, -2/+7Damn. Why can't I live in a swing state?
- Jkylman, on 10/11/2008, -2/+7Woah! The Beastie Boys and The D??? That's a lineup to travel for
- MWeather, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5You're right. Rush Limbaugh should just shut up.
- MommaLu, on 10/11/2008, -5/+9"The mini-tour...kicks off October 28 in Richmond, VA"
Woot! That's my city! - darkciti2, on 10/11/2008, -1/+4It wasn't a porno mag -
it was 30 pages of 'shopped collages of Liz Kucinich and Kari Byron.
I don't blame you - I'd be pissed if they threw it away too...! - poprocksandsoda, on 10/11/2008, -1/+4Who cares what entertainers think about politics. Pro-Left or Pro-Right.
- eyepennies, on 10/11/2008, -4/+7It's cool to be informed about the candidates. Ergo, cool kids vote for Obama. .
- kelsosmythe, on 10/11/2008, -3/+6Ok.
- darkciti2, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3Do you have friends or family in a swing state:
CO, NV, FL, MO, WI, OH, MT, IA, IN, GA, NC, VA, WV ?
If so, call them up or visit and remind of the past 8 years of Republican failure.
Remind them that before Republicans:
Gas was $1.46 when Bush / CheneyOilCo took office in Jan. 2000.
and we weren't in 2 unauthorized wars
and Guantanamo was only guarding Cuba
and the Patriot Act didn't exist
and 5,000 of our Military troops were still alive
and 750,000 Iraq/Afghan civilians hadn't been murdered (yet).
and 239 kittens were still alive
and 894 puppies that were curiously teetering around until the bomb fallout bricks smashed their heads in
Call now. - inactive, on 10/11/2008, -2/+4The Beastie Boys are not exactly kids.....
- Jerryskid02, on 10/11/2008, -3/+5I don't understand people being angry or hateful towards them because they might be in support of Obama. They're voters just you and me, they're using their talents to get people to go and vote, and supporting the candidate they like. Just because they're famous doesn't mean they need to be be neutral.
- RobotKeaton, on 10/11/2008, -4/+6@ wildone71. Where did you hear they didn't finish high school? Or is that just something you made up off the top of your head?
- NLightN, on 10/11/2008, -4/+6Rock on Beasties!!! You still haven't lost it!
- lisalisa46410, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3Busted.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -5/+7"No upstanding, god-fearin' young men who finished high school would be out wearin' their hats backwards 'n' makin' ***** music like them little *****!"
/s - SeaFour, on 10/11/2008, -0/+2Thanks to our ***** up winner-take-all electoral system your vote is just about worthless unless you DO happen to live in a swing state.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I thought the same about my area. Till i stumbled upon eventful.com a few months ago. You feed it bands ya like, and it'll email you when they are coming to your area. Now i get to sit around and say, why can't i afford to go see bands i like instead :P
- SeaFour, on 10/11/2008, -3/+4"We especially need more young people voting, doesn't matter who for."
Yeah, we need MORE uneducated voters heading to the polls... that'll fix things. Are you seriously suggesting that the same ***** that made Lil Wayne popular should have their political views taken seriously??? The problem with democracy is that the same people who can't decide between paper or plastic are allowed to decide which two-faced politicians lead the country. If you don't see anything wrong with this system then you are part of the problem.
"Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." - H. L. Mencken
PS: It is astounding how many of you think you're going to enact radical change by choosing between the two age-old old political parties. Keep doing that... it's working out great... for them. If Obama really stood for change then why would he affiliate himself with a major party? And if McCain were really a maverick then wouldn't he be an independent? - BedPost, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Why does no bands/groups I like ever come anywhere near Michigan? God_damnit_!
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -6/+7Hey now, that's not true. John McCain has his share of cool artists supporting his campaign. Like Daddy Yankee... and, uh... John Rich...
- poprocksandsoda, on 10/11/2008, -3/+440 year old rappers telling me how to vote ... exactly what I need to make my decision.
- bathroomninja, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2BBoys working? That's funny, I thought they were always on vacation...
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1I WOULD vote if the numbers didn't end up SABOTAGED.
- Jerryskid02, on 10/11/2008, -2/+3That's my point....you don't have to care. But why bash them for doing what they do, to support someone they support?
- kelsosmythe, on 10/11/2008, -2/+3On second thought.
Nah... stay home. - siliconpark, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2Greeaaat. Now we have the Beastie Boys endorsing the state. And.. you used to be so cool. Now.. just ignorant entertainers.
Get out and vote... perpetuate the system. Yah socialists! - dbz253, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1the beastie boys are the bane of society.
- SeaFour, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2"...most people don't look at it the way that you do, so in turn things like this motivate them, inspire them, and provides social awareness."
Which is precisely why they should be considered too stupid for their spoon-fed political views to be of any value. - gossipmonkey, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1I love it, but why are they starting this tour so late? what part of the strategy am I not understanding?
- 64bitllama, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1What are you implying with your little Osama quip?
- eyepennies, on 10/11/2008, -1/+2You know you are full of *****. You think every celeb endorsing McCain is thoughtful and reasonable and shouldn't be judged just bc they are a celeb.
- solid12345, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Most young people's view of the election: vote for either that old guy or that black guy,
- Volatile36, on 10/11/2008, -0/+1Exactly. Voter disaffection is too big a problem now-a-days. Quite frankly, I don't think it's the Republicans running this country into the ground, it's the old people. Digg me down, that's fine, but I believe that the over-50 crowd (for the most part) is ruining things for the rest of us.
- eyepennies, on 10/11/2008, -2/+3You are going to really hate the next 8 years then.
- inactive, on 10/11/2008, -2/+2BEASTY OLD MEN is what you should call them now
- Owwmykneecap, on 10/11/2008, -2/+2Alasondro Alegré, Vic Colfari 08
- Billions, on 10/11/2008, -5/+5Sounds cool to me...
- SeaFour, on 10/11/2008, -2/+2Only complete "***** idiots" dugg your comment down- it's not like the Beastie Boys are renown for their great political insight. The Beasties are allowed to have their opinions the same as anyone else, but a "hey come listen to music all day and then vote for my candidate because I said so" campaign doesn't make any sense. It's counter-productive to try and get these people to vote, if they stay home then there are that many fewer "***** idiots" attempting to make decisions for the rest of us.
- jontando, on 10/11/2008, -5/+5So take your advice from Daddy Yankee instead.
