- bodger, on 08/25/2008, -5/+286Dear Lord
Last night I asked for bare, naked ladies to fall from the skies. This evening, please allow me to be more specific.... - stevieraveon, on 08/25/2008, -7/+129If a Canadian musician had to be in a plane crash, why couldn't it have been Chad Kroeger
- Dumbledorito, on 08/25/2008, -8/+129If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy me a parachute... - NotOptium, on 08/25/2008, -5/+61As the plane was going down, witnesses report that Ed prayed, "Sweet Jesus don't let them use that picture of me where I look like I'm in the middle of being stabbed to death."
Bummer. - mlvassallo, on 08/25/2008, -3/+53You win the internet for today.

- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -5/+25Heh, to you idiots above me, what if he would have died. See, here's what happens:
-When one survives death on and the general digg community dislikes:
"ARGH DAMN IT!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!!!...[what the *****?]"
"Why didn't he die?"
-When one doesn't survive death, disliked or not:
"He will be missed."
"What a great guy."
"My prayers go out to his family...[more and more mumbo-jumbo]"
Yea, the other half of us realize that you're full of *****. - BoneStamp, on 08/25/2008, -0/+20You haven't quite figured out this tabbed browsing thing yet have you?

- MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/25/2008, -1/+11Dammit I knew I shouldn't have gone with the monkey!
- koolgiy, on 08/25/2008, -2/+11Barenaked Ladies have got it bad lately.
First Steven Page is arrested for cocaine possession - now Ed Robertson almost died in a plane crash.
Geesh! - MacGyver2210, on 08/25/2008, -1/+9Not an unusual amount.
This small Cessna is making me think there's a link between the small size of a plane and the survivability of a crash in that plane. People say "Oh, those puddle jumpers scare me" but honestly, I'd rather be in a Cessna 200-500 series than a 747 if it's going to crash. 1500lbs is a lot easier to control without an engine and with good visibility than 250,000lbs without 4 engines while looking through a bulletproof porthole. - yaddayaddayoda, on 08/25/2008, -1/+8Haven't you always wanted a monkey?
- halofr34k, on 08/25/2008, -0/+7I logged in just to digg you down.

- Andrwmorph, on 08/25/2008, -0/+6Dugg for stupidity.
- TrevorPace, on 08/25/2008, -0/+6I can't digg this one enough.
- WillyWonka, on 08/25/2008, -0/+6They always look for the stupidest one.
- jsauter, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6Small planes crash all the time. It just so happens that this is timed with a couple commercial jet crashes (one of which was with an airline that is banned in the EU) along with a couple of other small crashes that killed more then 2 people. This also made news because the pilot is famous.
General aviation is about as risky as motorcycle riding. When you combine small single engine aircraft that are more susceptible to bad weather and pilots with low hours and possibly bad decision making you get more crashes. - IKORKYI, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6not really cause paris hilton isn't dead yet
- tidu, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6no, there's been like 10 in the last week. it's eerie.
- theorn, on 08/25/2008, -0/+5True. When a Cessna 172 looses its engine, it become a glider with a glide ratio of 7 to 1, or so. If you're a mile up, you'll be able to glide for seven miles before you need to land and have about 63 square miles in which to find a landing spot... that is usually pretty doable. When a 747 looses power, it's really just a brick with a bunch of engines. (Yes, they do glide too, though...)
The real question though is one of energy. When a 747 flies, it MUST fly fast in order to stay in the air. A Cessna can get down to about 40 mph before it stops flying... Energy is proportional to the square of the speed and then multiplied by mass. big mass * (traveling very fast)^2 = a lot of energy to dissipate... - evilregis, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6About a decade ago one of the Barenaked Ladies (Kevin Hearn) was diagnosed with Leukemia. Fortunately, he is a cancer survivor and is still (as far as I know) cancer-free today.
- robdiggity, on 08/25/2008, -3/+8... to tell their what?
- NotOptium, on 08/25/2008, -1/+6As far as bands who have gotten any radio play, Barenaked Ladies is one of the better bands to come out of the past decade. I can understand where you're coming from, because it's easy to group anything that is popular into the "*****" category. But these guys can actually play their respective instruments pretty well, the lead singer has very good pitch, tone and range, and they can write some decent, interesting songs. Admittedly, the bar is pretty low at this point in popular music, but all of these qualities are very rare, and have been for decades.
- Zippo, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5Glad to hear Ed's a-ok.
- inactive, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4Or air is becoming less dense...
- lololol1, on 08/25/2008, -1/+5I have a cottage near there. I feel special
- tidu, on 08/25/2008, -0/+4Good thing that thumbnail is a picture of him sneezing.
- Munceenuts, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3Dugg for the picture.
- edwartica, on 08/25/2008, -1/+4By our standards? Yes. But realize that was a good 50 years ago and things were a lot different back then. Judge a person's art by the art of their time, not by the art of yours.
- ATLien74, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3He's not THAT cool... let's not get carried away now. He's just a Canadian Pop Fart Douchebag and nothing more.
- ProfessorLX, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3it's a pretty wicked show too, ed robertson is a good guy, entertaining to watch and very likable.
- jaydoj, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3Why couldn't the plane have crashed on the TMZ's servers?
- dan1101, on 08/25/2008, -0/+3Rock stars should really stay out of planes.
