- RWVolkl158, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Neat, but you have to wonder if this wasn't dad's doing though more then the kid's though...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3What a bunch of *****. Exactly what did any of you losers do that we can compaire to this? Oh thats right, you just sat on you ass all day and posted on Digg. A bunch of grown men ( I assume) trying to tear down these guys project. GET A GODDAMNED LIFE.
I hope you enjoy working for these kids in 10 years. Maybe then you can tell them how much their work sucks to their faces. - Noloco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was funny. I loved it. Great video.
- kismac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@SenorAnderson
who cares if they didn't rewrite the song... they went to the trouble of shooting a funny remake, and then cutting the sucker. As someone that works in the television industry, if two ten years olds are willing to put the work forward to do something like this, they are going to make it a long way... they'll probably be the ones creating content when you're sitting at home watching a glowing box in about 10 years. - saxman57, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Excellent!! I would digg it twice if I could.
- soultoasty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2if only more kids would get off their asses and put down the video game... well done.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In other news the father was arrested for having a movie camera in a theater...
- persaltier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that was nothing special. they tried to copy what was already done....the only thing different was they were 10. A for effort. D for entertainment value.
- cpawl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NIce to see such young kids putting together something like that but personally I don't think the SNL or their version is at all funny. Rapping about Nadia and cupcakes is about as funny as the Dunkin Donuts guy rappin about coffee.
- Jack9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Lazy Monday and West Coast Lazy Monday both sucked. Why is linking to crappy videos news?
- Mark_DeRidder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Impressive work by the two kids. Great job! And they look like the SNL guys they are portraying which is scary.
- keramikos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, that's filmed in my home town--Oak Park, Illinois--the Lake Theatre is where they're buying tickets and the Starbucks where my cousin works is visible in the background. Crazy.
- yavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haven't seen anything this funny from SNL in a while. Still not gonna watch it though :)
- TigerX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I never got the appeal of the original anyway... :-D
Go kids. - HumpyMcGee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, Turd Sandwich.
also, that West Coast version sucks Donkey Sack. - ikkebra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1awesome?
it's the lame version of the original - Noelix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great
- freelancer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AWESOME.... I think that SNL should bring them on and do a new sketch with all four aspiring rappers.
Hell ya .. Good Idea !! - shockingbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahaah... that was hilarious. I love the kid snarling his lip like Sandberg.
- joel.smith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1haha.. that's awesome.. It seems to fit so much better for two 15 year-olds to do it, than some grown ass men. :P
- ezkiel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Loved it. Damn to be a kid now. What with the new fangled technomachinery.
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Excellent; two content creators instead of consumers. I dreamed of having these tools when I was their age.
- Bandito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can anyone say Cookie Puss?
- jtucker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm willing to bet the kids had no idea the dual meaning of the CHRONCles of narnia. Thats why the dudes kept on eating cupcakes and snakes....so young....so innocent...
- celeb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1omg im dying
sooo funny - febryle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This rocked...these guys have some good skills for 11 year olds! Damn.
- azygousguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1AWESOME.... I think that SNL should bring them on and do a new sketch with all four aspiring rappers.
- e3mw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow, and I didn't think that you could make "Lazy Sunday" any funnier --
I was wrong.
The West coast "Lazy Monday" re-cut really sucks. Don't bother watching it. - dognose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just cause there are 10 year olds in the video, doesn't mean they edited it. Who's the third?
Great, there's a whole new generation of white 'rappers' - evanluke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm the dad, I had to entertain them at the office last Monday so they asked if they could go out and make a video for fun and they had the sunday thing on their video iPod so they just told me what to shoot ( I wasn't going to let them take my $4,000.00 Sony camera alone) and then we sat down and edited the cuts second for second in iMovie, comparing to the original in iTunes, it was tough since we had to try to sync the audio and then I got smart and we went to Radio Shack and got some double male mini cables, played the iPod right into the camera input which put pure audio on the DV tape, then we bought some portable iPod speakers and played those on the audio out from the camera and they could then sing along with the song and not have to sync the audio in iMovie. They had to get special permission to get into the theater with an HD camera but truth is kids can get permission a lot easier than adults. So of course they had help, albiet amatuer but they pretty much called the shots and knew the material by heart. Now I can't get that damn song out of my head!!
- dusingaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet 5th graders making a music video about smoking pot on a Sunday... awesome.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there's a firefox extension you can use to get it, or it might be somewhere on google video, take a look.
- TKn00b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AWESOME
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0damn, I wish I had an xbox in my office.
:-(
no digg for confirming that my job sucks. - tensafefrogs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This remix came from this site originally:
http://www.waxy.org/archive/2006/01/17/nick_and.shtml
The kids didn't remix the video, someone else took the mp3 of them and mixed it together. - schleppy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg for some kids putting in some good effort! I've done a little video editing and it isn't easy, nor is it fast.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Strange that these kids are getting so much credit just for not playing video games. Whoopie.
Seeing the exact same skit done by kids doesn't make me want to laugh any more at this skit than I did with Parnell and Samberg. The world of the internet always seems so hopelessly desperate for the 'next big thing', even though there's so much choice out there. Why so many people have gathered around "Lazy Sunday" is beyond me. Personally, I think most of the stuff on the "Lonely Island" Website is much better. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cute, but they need to practice the lip synching a bit more.
- linus7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone wanna host of put up a link directly to the actual video. (.wmv....mpg...whatever...)
- linus7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks "greattastic" but youtube is not accessable on my computer, and nor is it posted on google video. if anyone could just look at the source code and copy, paste here the direct video link...that would be awesome! (and i bet i'm not the only one...)
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mad tv > snl
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@HumpyMcGee
"Wow, Turd Sandwich.
also, that West Coast version sucks Donkey Sack."
agreed... - jmonw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was awesome.
- Bmac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OK can we get off the "Lazy Sunday is the Greatest piece of filmmaking since Citizen Kane" thing? It was amusing and cute and the only funny thing on the show for the last 5 years but for the love of Christ, why is everyone dorking out over it?
- ferrell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not to rain on anyone's parade, but...
How can this be "by" two 5th graders if they are both in the frame?
Who shot the video?
Who edited the video?
Sure, two kids acted in a video spoofing the original SNL video, but who MADE this video? - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Their dad edited it in Final Cut Pro, and I suspect he probably shot the video, too. Basically all the kids did was lip-synch and jump around. Big deal. I'm not trying to be hard on the kids, they're doing what you do when you're 11, having fun. Good for them.
I really don't see how getting your dad to film you re-enacting a skit is that big a deal, though. We used to pretend to be the Dukes of Hazzard when we were kids, I'm sure our parents could have filmed that, too. - windycityguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That ..was ..hilarious. Who cares if it constitutes "news" or not - 650+ diggs means someone is interested.
- EbulaJonez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good.... but I still like the original better
- EvilBadger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sheesh, all i had was lawn darts and molten hot metal playgrounds none of this new fangled technology. Good to see kids being creative though.
