- shempey, on 04/20/2009, -0/+11um none of those bands were at coachella dude.
- jewdiknight, on 04/20/2009, -1/+10All I got to say was that the Paul McCartney set was well worth the admission price alone, he rocked out for over 2.5 hours and played mostly Beatles songs.
- dubvulture, on 04/20/2009, -0/+8Coachella finally figured out how to handle the traffic this year. That must've saved me at least an hour each day. Saturday was hot, but that just meant more girls in bikinis.
- thegoldenavatar, on 04/20/2009, -6/+14Attendance strong at Coachella despite this year's mediocre lineup.
- AudioLoveMagic, on 04/20/2009, -0/+8You give Ticketmaster some time and they'll kill the thrill of live concerts too.
- ryanicus, on 04/20/2009, -0/+6I second that. I mean what a performance!!! I can't believe I'll be able to tell my children that I saw Paul McCartney play. Worth every penny...
- cornercorner, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4It's named after the Coachella Valley, which is where it takes place.
- megaton, on 04/20/2009, -1/+5Dugg down for digging someone down because they have an opinion.
- santiago1, on 04/20/2009, -3/+6 Dugg down for openly admitting you like that ignorant slut Whinehouse....
- Brill211, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2Wish i had seen that.
- Ajajadude, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2I like all of them (some more than others), but, kid is right. Besides, it'll take more than that to make up for the fact that the Killers were there.
- borez, on 04/20/2009, -1/+3@shempey: You're right mate, I read it wrong, my bad.
- tacobueno, on 04/20/2009, -1/+3There was not enough shade, random sculptures and useless things were put where tents with shade should have been. The lines for everything were ridiculously long, you even had to wait ten minutes to get water from the fountain. The lines to get in were a hour long. The whole morning and afternoon sucked. It was only good after the sun went down, the lines got shorter, and better bands started playing. Paul McCartney made the whole thing worthwhile.
Yea thats about it. - Megalomatthew, on 04/20/2009, -2/+4Great...now they have more reason to continue to raise ticket prices.
- petebot, on 04/20/2009, -0/+2That's fine man, keep it off the radar...
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -0/+2You will not see the same thing at Lolla if the lineup doesn't get better.
- saranagati, on 04/20/2009, -0/+1it's the first one from aeglive which puts on a large number of festivals.
- lauraivy, on 04/28/2009, -0/+0I think I'd rather pay up the wazoo to see Paul McCartney at indoor stadium by himself than pay Coachella prices to stand in a stinky crowd, hear a few good bands, a lot of crappy bands, while dying under the sun.
- diggnidy, on 04/20/2009, -2/+2
- athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -4/+4Kind of funny that all those bands reached their pinnacles 10 plus years ago.
- Xero10, on 04/20/2009, -2/+2I applaud them for their security. I tried to sneak in and it was almost impossible. They hired Marines and Indio police plus multiple other security agencies and staff. Cant forget the multiple fences in place. Those guys def took their job way too seriously. If your wondering, I Failed. Got caught by two marines and a cop. The Marines literally sprinted everywhere.
- Quiksilver21af, on 04/22/2009, -0/+0Paul McCartney has been playing Beatles songs all his life, Im sure he loves the chance to play some more of his new songs. Give him a break.
- adeline3, on 04/20/2009, -0/+0was this your first year?
...because it sounds to me like you had no idea what you were getting yourself into.
those "random sculptures" are called ART INSTALLATIONS and they were very cool in my opinion (especially the Hand of Man), there was plenty of shade if you just looked for it, and i never waited in line for more than 5 minutes.
i'll agree with you on the Friday morning/early afternoon lineup... wasn't the greatest. But Saturday and Sunday had some pretty solid scheduling and some great bands.
if you're gonna complain like this, then you don't have to go next year :) - XtheXlanternX, on 04/20/2009, -1/+1Yeah, her poppy/mainstream stuff doesn't really do her justice. If you listen to her more soulful and jazzy stuff from her younger years... oh my her voice just makes me feel so lightheaded sometimes.
- angelgabe, on 04/20/2009, -2/+2Paul McCartney was worth every penny of the $120 ticket price.
- XtheXlanternX, on 04/20/2009, -3/+1Are you really saying she doesn't have an amazing voice? Have you even heard her previous album and unreleased stuff? Back in Black is pretty meh, but Frank and the unreleased stuff blow my mind every time I listen to them.
- petebot, on 04/20/2009, -4/+2Wow. Imagine that. Paul McCartney playing Beatles songs.
- ronintetsuro, on 04/20/2009, -5/+3"Coachella, in the scorching but majestically beautiful desert east of Los Angeles, is the year’s first major festival and a bellwether for the all-important summer touring season."
Soooo.... SXSW is not on the radar because it's.... better? I see. - NorrisOBE, on 04/20/2009, -4/+2What's with you Americans and your crazy music festival names? Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lallapalooza..They sound like names of fizzy drinks a fat kid would buy every day. Can't you guys use a name less retarded? Atleast Glastonbury doesn't call itself Glastonbalooba.
- PizzaEagle, on 04/20/2009, -4/+1I'm with lantern. Tears dry on their own is one of the best soul songs ive heard in a while
- baileyjohn, on 04/20/2009, -3/+0Sorry, I just don't care, especially being stuck on the west coast with no money.
- daveinNJ81, on 04/20/2009, -3/+0Same old talk everytime with these big concerts. Friend and I was thinking about bamboozled and warped tour but having to hang around 15 - 16 year olds who don't know who face to face or bad religion are but love fall out boy?????? Prices would still be somewhat reaonsable. $50
- XtheXlanternX, on 04/20/2009, -6/+2I live in Ohio and I almost bought tickets and a flight out there for the weekend a few months ago. The only reason I wanted to go was to see Amy Winehouse, who was recently forced to cancel because she couldn't get a visa. Man am I glad I didn't shell out the cash for all that nonrefundable stuff now.
- borez, on 04/20/2009, -9/+3Depeche Mode, NIN, Beastie Boys, Springsteen.
Hardly mediocre. - mulling, on 04/20/2009, -7/+1Insanely hot, freakishly long lines and traffic, super short sets and too many stages mean you miss three bands you like while you're watching one. Wouldn't go back if you paid me.
