- awa1ct, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Once you find the song you want to download, open the page's source, and look for something like this: view/blopbpoboblooppoollolboolb.mp3. It is apparently a randomly generated filename inorder to prevent people from getting the files from the site. Well, maybe when they find this out, they will make it harder. But, for now, enjoy your free music

Nice, but awfully close to blogspam. Heres the gist of it:
1. Do a search for a file or MP3.
2. A list of matching files will now be displayed. Once you have found a matching file right-click on the filename and copy the link ( the link will look like this: http://mybloop.com/?id=blollooopobopllpbboopooolb.mp3 ).
3. Paste the link that you just copied into your address bar. DO NOT EXECUTE THE LINK YET.
4. Before executing the link you need to change ?id= to view/ (your link should now look like this: http://mybloop.com/view/blollooopobopllpbboopooolb.mp3 ).
5. Now execute the link and your browser should provide the save dialog box to let you store the file on your computer. - halfway, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I noticed that it no longer worked in the address bar, just started playing the file in a new window. I use flashget as a download manager and if I followed the steps above it worked.
- I copied the link location of the file i searched
- opened flashget and click the new icon (looks like a piece of paper)
- the link was already inserted, but I went and changed the ?id=, to view/
- file downloaded and i enjoyed.
Try that out, I'm sure other download managers will work also.

- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26You could go to: http://www.albumbase.com
It is the nets largest free album database and links to file hosting sites such as rapidshare, megaupload, etc, I think theres something like over 22000 free albums.- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -31/+3@ ifonly
is it just me or does what you said sound like an advertisment. - the1casey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Albumbase is a great site with tons of music. All rapidshare, megaupload and the like... Most of the music is in the alternative, hip-hop and rock/pop genres though, so you probably won't find the obscure jazz cd you're looking for.
But for those other genres, they've got links to everything.. - jblithe, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2thanks.
- blueblood, on 10/12/2007, -11/+5@flamingmb
how could it be a add if the site is free? - streetblader, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Thanks for that
- rotagivan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1One of the albums I attempted to download from albumbase was linked to filefront which said they did not allow illegal downloads or uploads to their site, and any information would be gladly handed over to authorities. The same album had another link to rapidshare where i got the uh...saw the same album i wish i had!

- Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Oh, look, another way to work waaay too hard to get free music.
Sheesh, after searching the source code for misnamed tracks one-by-one, downloading them, and renaming them (also one by one), you might as well pay for it. Or, you know, use filesharing. - Backlash, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7BTW THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL! It is legal to download copyrighted MP3s. It's illegal, however, to share/upload/host them.
- aurath, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10actually, im pretty sure it is illegal... however the riaa is after the people who share/upload/host them because they're the ones that matter. Just because they don't care as much, doesn't make it legal. share on!
- Terc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5No, it is not legal to download copywritten content (or store it on your computer) if you do not own it. As far a copywritten content goes, if you don't pay for it, and it isn't given to you, then you are stealing.
Interestingly enough, you don't even have the right to rip a copywritten cd to your computer (thanks RIAA for a ***** law) - br0ck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Go to Google. Now you have just viewed and copied their copyrighted page and logo to your hard drive. Is that against the law? No, because they explicitly put it on a public site with a public URL which says, please welcome yourself to download and view this material. Now, someone puts up an MP3 on their site with a direct URL and you browse to that URL and listen to the song. This is still perfectly legal. The only ambiguity in this case is that the authorized distributor made the links public through idiocy instead of intentionally, but since the URL is a simple public URL, there's no way, in my opinion, that you browsing to that URL could be construed as a crime.

- jambarama, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I'm not sure this is a great idea - it kind of proves the RIAA is right - whenever we can pirate stuff, we will. And as such DRM almost seems justifiied (I hate it as much as any anti-customer device, but it seems like the RIAA can claim to be justified).
But since an artist only gets 4.5 cents from iTunes (per song), and 0 from allofmp3, it is more beneficial to an artist if you pirate the album then mail the artist $5 or whatever. Cut the middle man out.- sleepwalkers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I still support artists that I really like. But anymore, unless they're unsigned, I can't justify buying an album from an artist that I'm not sure I entirely like on less than an average college student's salary.
Until the record companies stop collectively shafting us up the butt, I'll shaft them back. An eye for an eye, I say. - subscriber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1They are saying at allofmp3 that they pay royalties ... is this not true?

- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You're supposed to borrow the cds and dvds though, not make copies of them.
- hutch113, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Or, to get the music you can use Firefox, block the ads with AdBlock and use Download Embedded to download any of the media from that site.

- goat4, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1asd
- thinkdifferent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3In other news, you can use a coat hanger to "share" your neighbor's cars. "Free" music == stolen goods. Just because there is a big warehouse (MyBloop) for storing & distributing the stolen goods, doesn't make them free in the legal sense.
If you really want to support artists, support the independent ones who offer their tracks directly on MySpace, or Podsafe Music Network, etc. Better yet, if you enjoy the music, donate to them. But don't shroud stealing music in the "sharing" misnomer. Major labels are bastards & overcharge consumers & screw the artists, but stealing the music is still wrong.- jeremymerrill, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How is it stealing? It is still there; it didn't go anywhere. I am not required to buy their music.
- subscriber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's stealing because you have taken a (copy) right that does not belong to you.
- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why do people complain about the RIAA again?
- sparty1969, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1In the words of Triumph (the insult comic dog) "This site is great......for me to POOP ON!!!"
- liquidedge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Still not as easy as just setting up a gmail account and giving out the u/p. Obviously you have more of a space limitation, but 2.5gb is good enough for most people's active playlist.
Next! - Vapid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great site.. They mentioned they have an upgraded version of the site coming out within 2 weeks. Can't wait
- elsnow77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1hey read this, way easier way to do it....just get the ff extension called amazing media browser, and when you click on the link where the song starts to play, just use that and it will d/l it for you with out having to do anything
- kron0s, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0hey goat, where do I send those dvd's to?
- RustyBurrito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1When they release their new version it will supposidly be "impossible" to download the mp3s and you will only be able to listen to them. Interesting.
- cooldude787879, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0How long until they get a cease and desist letter from the RIAA :P
- desimaniac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1All we need now is a greasemonkey script to do this for us.
- zouhair, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If I have torrent, usenet, some nice ftps WTF I'M I GONNA GET STUCK WITH THIS STUPID STUFF
