- Harvey_Mushman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+204I really never appreciated how horribly written "My Humps" was before this.
- elcidcannon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+101That was probably the point...
- dcmjzero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+82i have never been an alanis fan.... until now. wow.
who would have thought the best way to make fun of a song would be to sing it seriously? - DurkaMcDurk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+81Most of the mainstream hip-hop ***** is written badly... open your ears to some good music...
also... when fergi sings this ***** i want to vomit... when alanis sings it, it is strangely arousing.... - Philodox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+66how could you not realise it? My humps is one of the worst events in music history. Actually, anything Fergie has been associated with has been downright terrible.
- Hentez, on 10/12/2007, -10/+67That was great! And it is nice to see a current video pop up on Digg, that is not 300 related.
- Xeniteone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+46Awesomely hilarious!!! Are you serious? It is 1000% funnier when you can understand the words. "If you touch it I'll start some drama. And you don't want no drama." Alanis just got about 100 cool points from me. And since I'm on Digg, then you know that I'm just the person to decide who gets those.
- joshua5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40oh i appreciate how horribly written the majority of mainstream music is these days. i appreciate it so much i refuse to buy it, listen to it, or have anything to do with it at all.
yes, RIAA, with songs like "My Hump" i'm sure illegal downloads are the real reason your profits are falling
/sarcasm - Scoresheet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37I don't think they were aiming for lyrical appreciation....
- Threnody, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Stolen from the YouTube comments:
"She finally understands irony! :V" - darthdurden, on 10/12/2007, -14/+39Alanis is God
and also this is hilarious ... the lyrics sound even more ridiculous when you can actually understand them - veggiemoore, on 10/12/2007, -8/+32Fantastic--on par with Ben Folds's "Bitches Ain't *****" and Tori Amos's "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
- rpgguy1o1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25you can say *****, for future reference ; )
- radioflyerx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I must say, I'm a little disturbed that it took this parody to make me realize just how much the original truly sucked. I feel ashamed.
- Carlos1978, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Alanis has reached a level of Awesomeness never before seen!
- zmanker, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25i would bump her lumps
- jongos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Repeat after me...paaarrooooodyyyyyy.
- cycledesign, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22@jazzmine
Oh, that's fergalicious? I thought this was fergalicious: http://bestweekever.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/fergie_1.jpg - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Oh, look, there goes the joke...some 24,000 feet above your head.
- darthdurden, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22@waterispoison
"Duh, haven't you seen Dogma?"
yes, that was the point... i didn't think i had to point that out for for the majority of diggers, hence the "... and also this is hilarious" - MBX1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18die bling bling, die!
- FukUrCouch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Hip hop is dead because now it's about sex, money, and what the "streets" want to hear which is mostly about dumb ***** like this....
This is why I'm hot
This is why I'm hot
I'm hot cuz I'm fly
You ain't cuz you not.
We fly high, no lie
You know this, BALLLINNNG
Rich Boy sellin' crack
***** ***** wanna jack
***** tight no slack
Just bought a Cadillac (THROW SOME D'S ON THAT BITCH!)
Thank you... - Phyltre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15We've needed a female Weird Al for a long, long time.
- EzarKun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17man are you dumb?
She is covering the song "my humps" by black eyed penis. This vid here just shows how awful the original was. - AugustWest333, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Anything is a step up from the original.
- cleverhanz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Oh my God. That was beautiful! Didn't think I'd be saying it, but if Allanis Morisette was the creative force behind that, she is a genius.
What a horrific song. Hearing it sung like that has split my brain in two.
I need a drink. - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14You're missing the point you dweeb. It's meant to be bad. It shows how bad the original was - and how crass and stupid the message it was selling was.
It was a stab at modern consumerist pop culture.
Way over your head clearly. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15What the hell, Alanis is busting Weird Al's balls with this.
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Orrr... Sing it in a funny way. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCAt9WcCFbM - hinkbot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16@senorcool
Don't worry, you don't know it.
It's Fergie that sings it. - crzdmnsldy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16@senor...
uh... fergie is the singer from b-e-p... or one of them. - DrNoDoze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Ripping on both Fergie (sp?) and her type and the super serious (I am thinking sarah mclachlan here) sonstresses while proving that you don't take yourself to seriously .... all of a sudden I like Alanis a lot more. Not enough to buy an album, but still.
- mikesum32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10That was great, but I prefer Alanis on MADTV as her fake sister Delicious.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ReOrctQoDAk - yutt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Are you an idiot?
Wait, I need to rephrase that.
You are an idiot. - j4200, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hmm, you realize fergie can't sing? She has realtime electronic harmiconical melodic enhanhancemts added to her voice while singing. Or something. The truth
- fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9@tgmd
how about you blame the people paying for the records instead of the artists creating them. - Adma1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9You know, surprisingly before now, having never seen Alanis in such clothing, I had never noticed how quite nice her "lumps" are.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Alanis > Fergalicious
- rjam710, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8That's still pop, it's just old pop. There's a lot of "good" rap out there with meaningful lyrics if you're willing to look. Tupac and Biggie both had some serious lyrics, a lot of it talking about life where they grew up. Public Enemy has always been political with their music, trying to get a message out about more than just sex. Today we have guys like Common, Talib Kweli, and Lupe Fiasco whose songs focus on some pretty serious issues.
Don't categorize a whole genre based on the stupid mainstream crap you see out there. I don't even like hip hop that much, but I give respect to those artists that earn it. - fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This will be my wedding song, to dance with my bride when I get married
- bewebste, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Well, this isn't exactly the same. Weird Al does the same music with new lyrics, this is new music with the same lyrics. Still friggin' hilarious though.
- shertzerj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Is it just me or is there an overabundance of people in this post that don't understand that this is mean to be bad (if it's taken for face value)? That it's a parody mocking how ridiculous the original song was?
- Keefu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It's pretty obvious it was a parody judging by the expressions and the way they carried themselves throughout the video. Plus her laughing at the end when she was in 'emo-mode'.
I thought it was hilarious. :D If you're a fan, why not dig it? - jaymzx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12..and "Boyz-N-The-Hood" by "Dynamite Hack".
- yutt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Tori Amos' cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was not an attempt to mock or parody it.
http://www.amazon.com/Crucify-Tori-Amos/dp/B000002ITU - raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Erm.. I think it's 'Lady Lumps' from a feminist perspective. Y'know kind of 'is that all there is to it, money, ***** ass and bling?'
It's kind of ironic really - which is a bit ironic in-itself - as maybe this is Alanis finally showing us that she really does get irony after all.
I think she might also be saying that there's no substitute for a well crafted song - and that this kind of trash isn't it. - ajchavar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6anywhere to get an mp3 of this?
- launchpadtt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4well, it's clear that the lyrics are lame, but people like it for the beat. Nothing wrong with that. There is a time and place for everything. That's the real problem, there's only songs with a beat that are being sold, nothing with lyrics or melody.
- sally00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6i think we already know what the lyrics are
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Good for her. It's obvious that a song like 'lumps' does nothing for men/women relations.
