- ssquared22, on 03/12/2009, -3/+23They've made some nice innovations to their design. Too bad it is probably a few years too late to help many.
- Mankind121, on 03/13/2009, -2/+14an improved myspace is a bit of an oxymoron
- identityxcrysis, on 03/13/2009, -2/+12While I'll admit, the new player sucks less than the old player (The old player has NEVER worked for me, across 4 different computers)
Having an ad in the middle of playing music and causing that music to stop between tracks is annoying, and NOT an improvement. - Frixionburne, on 03/13/2009, -2/+7I never thought that the word "improved" would ever find itself next to "myspace music".
It turns out it still doesn't fit. - johnsy, on 03/13/2009, -0/+5it's official... MySpace will now do *anything* to get actual technical people onto their website... besides all the teens and spammers, of course
- jimmies, on 03/13/2009, -2/+6MySpace....LOL, you said MySpace.
- petebot, on 03/13/2009, -1/+5They still need to get rid of all of the obnoxious ads...
- gkskillz, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3well, they didn't set the bar very high, so really, anything they do has the potential to improve it. I would say "perfection was improved" is the oxymoron.
- esthercaulfield, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3Here's my beef with the MySpace Music player:
1. The player is unstable, often skipping to the next song on the playlist randomly.
2. When I choose to allow users to download tracks, it astonishingly does not display a link that allows them to do so.
3. The advertisement ("Click here to continue listening to music") is ridiculous. People should be able to listen to my playlist uninterrupted. For instance, while doing things around the house, away from the computer.
4. The visual interface is hideously ugly and impossible to match with my color scheme.
5. The lyrics display spaces out each line of text about 3 times as much as they need to be, making it extremely difficult to read. When you attempt to scroll, it takes you all the way to the last line, every time.
6. Unless I opt to use Snocap, the "Albums", "Playlists", "Ringtones", and "Buy" functions are pretty much useless.
Here's an idea: Perhaps MySpace (or NewsCorp) should invest some of the money they make from their massive full page advertisements into improving the functionality of their piece of ***** interface. But then, what would Rupert Murdoch use in his fireplace on romantic evenings?
Their little slogan is "A Place For Friends", but it could easily be "Sorry! An unexpected error has occurred. This error has been forwarded to Myspace's technical group." - tzon, on 03/13/2009, -0/+3After having bashed MySpace basically since its inception, I've recently signed up and must admit to actually enjoying it, especially the music side of it. Maybe because it's become the anti-facebook is another reason I'm finding it interesting. Facebook is seeming too yuppy to me. Plus ms seems less intrusive into your private details than what facebook seems to be. For instance, it lets you register as an alias whereas facebook wants your info and wants it now. Plus it lets you peruse the site without being a member. I've recently been bombarded with friends who want me to join facebook but I'm just not feeling it.
Question, why is this text form bobbing up and down with each character I type in Safari? This really sucks. - MrJagil, on 03/13/2009, -1/+4Actually, i find myspace rather good when discovering new artists. You can go check 5 songs they think represents them best, and easily get a glimpse of their musical capabilities... And also, you can download most of their songs (file2hd.com for instance).
- andrebob, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2I wish I could digg this two times.
- CrazySpaniard, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2blame Digg
- Grazfather, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2I guess it can't be worse though.
- digitalArtform, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2I like the feature that stops the music dead after about 15 seconds.
- petebot, on 03/13/2009, -0/+2Dude, the ads on facebook or google are much more tastefully done. Seriously, there are like 10 different ads on Myspace's home page .
- PterionFracture, on 03/13/2009, -1/+2meh, Pandora works for me.
- danwallace, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1It was a joke. Get over yourself.
- inactive, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1Improved? I cant even download songs through safari's "activities" window anymore. They somehow blocked it.
- alpha88, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1It's still myspace.
- danwallace, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1Never had a problem with it. Stop using Netscape.
- VisualRhetoric, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1Ahh, the paradox of getting free ***** on the internet. Ads fuel the sites so they can provide content free to the user...and the user doesn't want to see the ads because they are cumbersome and annoying.
Unless you want to pay to use myspace you'll just have to get used to the ads. - Dylson, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1So did you! You said it TWICE! In the same sentence. On DIGG!
- identityxcrysis, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1Nice nice. So it works for you so you automatically assume it has to work for everyone else, and if it doesn't they're OBVIOUSLY using an out of date browser.
Right.
I use Firefox as my main browser, but I keep IE, Safari, Netscape, and Opera on here for whatever purposes. The old player has always fought with me. - kevinbowen, on 03/28/2009, -0/+1Last.fm and reverbnation work quite well for me discovering new music, thank you very much.
- captainchris, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1this music and website sites. i can make a better player than this and i don't have a billion dollars.
i'd love to know how a company with that much money and power is unable to fix their site. - sivantheswan, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1i still think Pandora is much better
- identityxcrysis, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1YES SIR!
- atm259, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1What the hell is myspace?
- decx, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1you must suffer !
myspace.com/molkerit - Thorpe, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1Improved?? MySpace??? These two just don't go together.
- phrawgh, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1Every MySpace page I have accidently had the misfortune to disgrace by browser looks like a crack head on geocities in 1997 designed it. Side scrolling, text flashing, auto audio loading crap. I don't get it. I must be an idiot.
- eifersucht12a, on 03/13/2009, -0/+1I remember being able to search for bands by distance from a zip code. I managed to find something similar on Myspace but it gives me a list sorted by most popular mainstream, indie and unsigned bands. It used to be just a regular list as if you were searching for friends. I liked that.
- Inflammo, on 03/13/2009, -2/+2I'll stick to Pandora and iTunes.
- ehalasey, on 03/13/2009, -3/+2An article crafted to drive traffic to Myspace? Really?
Buried as spam. - boozedrinker, on 03/13/2009, -2/+1***** MYSPACE. It's the ass-end of the internet.
- Cojafoji, on 03/13/2009, -7/+4People still use myspace? Damn, I thought that went out of style back in '06. Oh yeah, and it sucks.
- diggitalism, on 03/12/2009, -7/+2the only thing keeping myspace from turning into softcore porn are the music/artist pages.
now fix the ***** layout.

What is Digg?
