- krazykor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33Meh. I'd be more impressed if he was like, three. And he played it with his tongue. While on fire.
- mntalkase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29What the hell are you guys talking about? Look, the solo was damn good. Nuff Said.
- jamesgott, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28what the ***** are you talking about?
uhhh my only comment is that they should get a tripod. - haggie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11No mullet. No Digg.

- geoffcybor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7it takes him 2 years to play this well? is that abnormal or what? I'm just starting to play now, i wonder if i'll be that good in 2 years. I'll bet he had hella private lessons.
- geoffcybor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+613 is more like 8th grade

"deff uh gnat ley?"
god. i'm losing my mind. why do I even care? - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3>>>"where they (presumably) reference the outspoken segregationist governor George Wallace"
If you actually knew the history of the song, you'd be aware that the song is, in fact, anti-Wallace. The song is a response to Neil Young's "Southern Man", and the line in particular is "in Birmingham they loved the govenor; now we all did what we could do". - hack314, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Found a video that looks like the same kid, playing the solo along with the CD.. closeup and on a tripod
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtEl6E_LN3I - cinnabon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wanted to puke after I watched this video...
- jpyun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Freebird isn't that hard. If you live in a big metropolitan area, go down to your local guitar shop and there are plenty of kids around 13-16 who can do better.
- expatasia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I give the kid props for just being 13 and playing guitar but this isn't AMAZING. Not because of the kid's playing but that the solo on the original wasn't AMAZING either. It's just a bunch of repetitive bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs.
Oh, and lay off the crank before filming. geeeEEEEZZZ! - Apocalypticae, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Showmanship my ass. I'm all for just playing the damned music and not fluttering around like some dancing Nancy.
The kid is good; nearly awesome, maybe. I doubt he spends much time glued to an Xbox. It really pleases me to see a kid so young with such passion for something.
@Otto: Werd. Testify, y0. - T440, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suddenly feel the need to play Guitar Hero 2 right now.
- Streyeder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3FREEBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Well, it's more than just a single line, and it's fairly open to interpretation." How is a response to Neil Young's Southern Man open for interpretation? You obviously don't know what you are talking about and are using your own misguided interpretation of the song to better your argument. Seriously, do your homework.
"There's also "Where the skies are so blue ...and the government true" First of all they really say "and the governors true"....and second of all they say Boo, Boo, Boo right after that, most of which people miss during the song. Need proof?
"Fans deny the song expresses support for Wallace's politics, interpreting the lyrics as saying that the band did all they could do to keep Wallace out of office. They argue that a jeer "Boo, boo, boo!" can be heard after the line "In Birmingham, they love the governor" and they interpret this as an attack on Wallace. In 1975, Van Zant said: "The lyrics about the governor of Alabama were misunderstood. The general public didn't notice the words 'Boo! Boo! Boo!' after that particular line, and the media picked up only on the reference to the people loving the governor"
Should you need any more evidence take a look at wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Home_Alabama_%28song%29
Now of course we all take what's on wikipedia with a grain of salt, but I know in this case what is said there can be corroborated. - headzoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I think he's a little stiff. Needs to relax and get into the song a little more. But he's on the verge of greatness.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That kid's gonna get laid before he hits puberty.
- 9teen7ty9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's all about the wine red SG
the kid's got chops though - WUThad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The video is good, but my favorite part was reading the comments. Some dude posted his phone number. I'm not mean enough to post it on digg, but wow, there are some morons out there.
Here's the comment (edited out the number of course):
"dude ill you marry my sister if you join my band and together we take over the world!! of course you are the king~ Sean Norton *08 *** 2**9" - SIRBERUS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Wow, you guys are really trying to make this ugly.
For the record, "Brown Sugar" by the Rolling Stones is a song about a plantation owner having sex with one of his slaves behind his wife's back.
Then again, its also a great song thats been used in everything from pepsi commercials to disney films.
And why is it white supremacist? Isn't Caucasian more acceptable? Or is it ok to just throw all pale people into a simple-to-remember term?
Seriously, though... music is an art, art is to be interpreted as a reflection of your own subconscious/emotions/understanding. So if you listen to awesome music but you are haunted with thoughts of racism... maybe you should start working on yourself first before you go on your crusade.
Hell, even "rock-a-by-baby on the tree top" is a song about a baby being put on a tree for god knows why, then brutally falling to the ground. - briguymaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was great but I'm more impressed that the old timey bandmates were able to make it through the song. Dear lord they looked old...
- Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm going to assume that you are early to mid 20s and so just missed out on all the wonderful additions they made to food throughout the 90s. Its all about the hormones in the chicken man.
- inarguable, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude, i think the guy filming this has Parkinson's or something. Christ, i was getting motion sickness watching this! (kid can play though, no doubt)
- Hale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very cool
- dolemite5005, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Where can I hire that kid for my wedding?
- sporkyzero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha the rest of this band is terrible and ***** annoying. this kid is leading all of them.
- 81v3d07g0d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nope
- pigsbladder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1very good, he's very talented
- dustyshadow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"The song is a response to Neil Young's "Southern Man", and the line in particular is "in Birmingham they loved the govenor; now we all did what we could do"."
lyrics from sweet home alabama:
Well I heard mister young sing about her
Well, I heard ole neil put her down
Well, I hope neil young will remember
A southern man dont need him around anyhow - NightTerror666, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Achievement unlocked!
- EvilTesdall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2if he is 13 i have a cuban that says he is 12....and can play baseball....
- kickarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He's definitely a prodigy when it comes to the guitar, only two freaking years! And it was effortless to play from the looks of it for him.
- tanker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you want to impress me, play something original. It's not that hard to listen to a guitar progression and copy it. He barely strayed from the original. He's got potential, but that's about it.
- FriedGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't play guitar. I have one. It sits in the corner behind my desk. Every few weeks I abuse myself trying to get my mind and left hand wrapped around it. I cuss and then put it back... for a few weeks.
You go kid. - ChrisWickenscom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not impressed....
- SIRBERUS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just another thought, btw. If we are going to judge a band based on the lyrical content of their songs, then let's do a google search and see which bands (or artists) use the most racial slurs in their music.
Mmm. That's tasty hypocrisy. - jawdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no you cant.
- claydo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0me? steroids? lol im tall but look how skinny i am. there was also a rumor in my school that i was on steroids. hehe just cause i run fast and im stronger than i look.
- tungsai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can't help it.
My nightmares are haunted by specific spelling errors, and for some reason capitalization and everything else get swept aside like styrofoam cups before an aircraft carrier.
My problem must inconvenience others in order to validate it. - tungsai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How many guitar solo videos must we see before they are no longer "AMAZING" or "AWESOME" or "THE BEST EVAR!!!!111ONE"?
/spam - seblbean, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1whoa....goosebumps the whole way through. starts shredding at about 38s
- Providence, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4GODLIKE!
- rychebro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The kid is sickening how authentic he represents the song all the way down to the SG to get the warm tones and vintage marshall as back line..... Theres always a drunk guy who loves the solo at every show...... " ohhhhhh maaaaaann that was life changing maaaan shake my hand man,,,,,, Urrrr amazing little kid,,,,, where did you get your magic fingers maaaaann????
- claydo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL! there actually was a drunk guy that kept shaking my hand. it was at a 21-over festival so i was an acception to get in for the band, but there were some drunk guys in there haha.
- IWISH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Forget the politics of the song and enjoy the music. I bet this kid got laid that night by a 40 something mother remembering the good times she had listening to the music.
- jaxxon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I got chills throughout the whole thing.
Damn! Way to go, kid!! :-) - EricCiccone, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Not hard for a 13 year old to play this...
- veenified, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow, I can't even...wow, I need...*****, honey...I need some paper towels, I just wet myself...
