- cuoops, on 10/14/2009, -0/+13All good. Stevie Ray is my favorite.
- Lowrider93, on 10/13/2009, -0/+10Glad to see someone take notice of Rory Gallagher. It is a shame that we lost so many great musicians, not just the guitar players but all who have passed away too early in their careers.
- zarisback, on 10/14/2009, -1/+10I had the fortune to see Stevie Ray Vaughan months before he died. I may have been only 3 but still have vague memories of the show, but what I do remember was the emotion of the show(along with all the other concerts my parents brought me to growing up); it has given me a life-long love for music for which I'm grateful.
- pwarnock, on 10/13/2009, -1/+10The era couldn't have happened without Leo Fender.
- BasalCellBossk, on 10/14/2009, -0/+9dugg for Zappa.
- grimacebrown, on 10/14/2009, -0/+8Or Les Paul. I mean...the dude invented multi-track recording.
And actually if you go listen to Les Paul's old jazz tunes, the guy ***** shredded... with respect to his era of music that is. - buddhistMonkey, on 10/14/2009, -0/+8I would have called the article 9 Late Great Guitarists of the Rock Era, and included Randy Rhoads.
- Leezus, on 10/14/2009, -0/+7Dugg for Frank ***** Zappa.
- paulmer2003, on 10/14/2009, -0/+7Dugg for Peaches En Regalia and Derek and the Dominos
- Raumschiff, on 10/14/2009, -0/+6Who let the gate to YouTube comment section open?
- dafragsta, on 10/14/2009, -1/+6Well thank you for that fun fact. Do you have any good jokes about cancer?
- schavira, on 10/14/2009, -0/+5I was hoping for him to be on the list. That's not worthy of burying an entire article though, come on now.
- inactive, on 10/14/2009, -3/+7Zappa > everything, ever
- Raumschiff, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3There's plenty of good music today. Just not on your average radio station or MTV.
- Lowrider93, on 10/13/2009, -0/+3Teles, Strats, and the occasional Les Paul/SG
- jmorganthall, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3Seriously...YES!!! So many people miss that.
- itc518, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3I would have included Rhoads as well.
- glue, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3Buried for not including Marc Bolan or Randy Rhodes.
- gkiltz, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3At least I'm not the only guy around who thinks Danny Gatton was a great guitarist!
- Poleeko, on 10/14/2009, -1/+4Jeff Healey was in Roadhouse as Cody, the house guitar player of the Double Deuce.
- itc518, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2Thats funny.
- smacksaw, on 10/14/2009, -2/+4I had heard that SRV did not die on impact and actually had torn his aorta and died some distance from the plane, ostensibly looking for help.
- f4nt0m4s, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2I'd like to add Michael Houser to the list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Houser
He died from pancreatic cancer. - bmiami69, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2kool stevie and jimi were awesome
- OrangeBob, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2I've been listening to Rory since the late 70's. My older brother brought home "Top Priority" when it first came out, and I've been hooked ever since!!
- itc518, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2neither one of them had their lives cut short by a tragedy.
- chinolofus, on 10/14/2009, -1/+3not sure why you are getting buried.
- inactive, on 10/14/2009, -1/+3It's depressing to see it referred to as the "rock era". It just reminds me of how dry the music is these days.
also, *****: http://frankzappacreateslife.ytmnd.com/ - Conguent, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2Zappa.
- THELEECH, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2I would really like to see Mick Ronson get some recognition some time. Nick Drake also never gets any recognition, all three of his albums were top notch. Marc Bolan and Elliott Smith are two more who should be there.
- Bowie, on 10/14/2009, -2/+4
No mention of Marc Bolan? FAIL.

Buried, and I do mean, buried. - Rutledge14, on 10/14/2009, -1/+2Where the ***** is Esteban?!
- bossm4n, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1A solid list, but Randy Rhodes is a major oversight. Also surprised no one has mentioned Dimebag Darrell.
- itc518, on 10/14/2009, -1/+2I bet Bolan wasnt included because his son was in Poison.
- losangelesdj, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1Era? WTFunk. Rocks not going to end.
- explodingzebras, on 10/15/2009, -0/+1shame they didn't pick a better clip of Zappa though :(
- FrancisHC, on 10/15/2009, -0/+1Oh damn, I didn't realize Jeff Healey had passed. That guy was amazing. I used to try and lay my guitar out on my lap and try and figure out how he played like that. RIP.
- 2diggnot2digg, on 10/14/2009, -1/+1This list is woefully incomplete. At minimum it's missing Randy Rhodes and Terry Kath.
- tomarocco, on 10/14/2009, -1/+1It's tragic to leave Kath off that list. He outshined the others in his own way.
- tomarocco, on 10/14/2009, -1/+1Don't fool yourself, girl....
- Chinzon, on 10/14/2009, -2/+1Worth it for the pun though.
- itc518, on 10/14/2009, -3/+1His son was in Poison, so he shouldnt be included for creating that monstrosity called Ricki Rocket.
- MrSparkle666, on 10/14/2009, -6/+1Penis.
