- sauron256, on 11/23/2009, -11/+289Nickelback need to stop singing about anything.
Because Nickelback sucks. - one1plus1one, on 11/22/2009, -23/+218A few more notes I would like to add to that article:
- All modern musicians need to stop using the word "baby" in their lyrics.
- Snoop Dogg needs to stop singing about weed and pussy.
- Dr. Dre and most other rappers need to stop singing about "da police".
- The Police needed to stop singing about seducing prostitutes.
- Beach Boys needed to stop singing about surfing and tropical islands long time ago.
- Marvin Gaye also needed to stop singing about sexual healing in a smooth seductive tone that makes ladies want to slide their panties off, long ago.
Umm... well, actually I'm glad that Marvin Gaye stuck to that topic/theme.
But otherwise.. the Beach Boys should have really evolved. They had harmonies and a few experimental musical tones (ie: Good Vibrations) that could have taken them to almost the same heights as the Beatles.
In contrast, the Beatles moved on from the "She loves me, ya ya" melodies and evolved and matured.
So ya, we need to see more musicians doing what the Beatles did: evolving and experimenting and taking off into new directions. - lepetitmousse, on 11/23/2009, -8/+197jay-z: sucking new york city's dick in every song.
- hektur, on 11/23/2009, -4/+127And Nickelback, well, they should just stop singing.
- Kuci06, on 11/22/2009, -9/+125Lil Wayne - ***** every girl, spending money and being awesome.
- canadabluesfan, on 11/23/2009, -22/+119Hey, I like RHCP.
- evilregis, on 11/23/2009, -1/+92Kid Rock: Kid Rock
- HalsMyPal, on 11/22/2009, -3/+83Man it must be awesome to be Jimmy Buffet!
- Hellicus, on 11/22/2009, -5/+83And lying about it.
- kelvinbanner, on 11/23/2009, -8/+75What about Green Day? I can barely remember when their music wasn't all political and anti-war.
- vsujohn2, on 11/23/2009, -8/+74Isn't that rap in general?
- moog, on 11/23/2009, -2/+66He's got a point. Nickelback do suck.
- bcrazzle, on 11/23/2009, -4/+57The Beach Boys did evolve. There is a reason that Pet Sounds is considered one of the greatest albums of all time and no they did not write it early in their career. The worst part is saying that they could have been as big as the Beatles. Pet Sounds is actually what inspired the Beatles to write Sgt. Pepper. So do some research before you make outlandish claims.
- manikfox, on 11/23/2009, -9/+62Dugg for having a spot on pie chart of RHCP :P
- tsunami643, on 11/23/2009, -0/+49Disregard females, acquire currency.
- Hivetyrant, on 11/23/2009, -0/+48They should just stop breathing.
- Commonwealth, on 11/23/2009, -0/+44Aaaanyway...
- tmanv, on 11/23/2009, -3/+42Dookie was the second cd I ever bought, after Offspring: Smash. Both still 2 of my favourite albums.
- AhrenBa, on 11/23/2009, -2/+39Eminem was from Michigan.
- CrazyOldAlex, on 11/23/2009, -2/+39He's not from the Bronx, he's from Detroit.
- Frankzulla, on 11/22/2009, -1/+37But it's all he knows.
- alpha88, on 11/23/2009, -3/+39maybe you do?
- vagrantwade, on 11/23/2009, -1/+34Digging you down because you think Eminem is from the Bronx...
I don't even like the guy, but have you even heard of 8 mile? Not a lot of trailer parks in the Bronx. - doshindude, on 11/23/2009, -11/+44Except it's welcome because they're a really good band.
- ThaATrain, on 11/23/2009, -2/+32I miss the old Lil Wayne when it was all about kilos of coke and murdering his enemies in a sadistic fashion (pre Carter 3)
- lepetitmousse, on 11/23/2009, -6/+35buried for being a korn fan
- benfromcanada, on 11/23/2009, -2/+29Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the article. I was bullied a lot in high school. You know what? I don't whine about it regularly, and it rarely enters my other writing. I also didn't say that all Korn's fans are emo kids. I like some of Korn's stuff. But let's be fair: what's the difference between typical Korn lyrics and typical emo lyrics? Answer me that, please.
- JCH897, on 11/23/2009, -1/+27Just because RHCP overwrites a certain subject doesn't mean they're not a good band....
- Kale27, on 11/23/2009, -0/+25http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v433/iamjs/willf ...
- JohnatMI, on 11/22/2009, -59/+83RHCP are the worst offenders of all. We get it. You're from California. Now please stop making music.
- whatthefu, on 11/23/2009, -3/+26Did you seriously just try to tell Snoop what to rap about?!
- mattb5, on 11/23/2009, -0/+22I wish artists were allowed to expand and grow. If the first album sells, the record companies want another one just like it.
- falstaff, on 11/23/2009, -0/+21To be fair, if they had stuck with the same lyrical stuff from the first few albums, they'd be on the list for overdoing the masturbation references.
- bwdd, on 11/23/2009, -3/+23Reel Big Fish - being in a band goddammit
- reelskamachine, on 11/23/2009, -2/+22I know, when i was reading this i was like "HAHA, its true, all of these people suck." But once i saw RHCP, i was like, "aww man, i like this band"
- moog, on 11/23/2009, -4/+23Agreed. Green Day jumped the shark about 4 albums ago.
- EricSchC1, on 11/23/2009, -0/+17I don't know why you're being buried. With them, the repetition doesn't stop with the lyrics.
- VegaObscura, on 11/23/2009, -0/+17I've buried you for advertising. I hope you understand.
- thebreach, on 11/23/2009, -2/+19Nickleback does nickleback something fierce
- hackop, on 11/23/2009, -1/+18Dugg, to the both of you! Nickleback are terrible!
- vsujohn2, on 11/23/2009, -4/+20So? I couldn't care less what the enormous amount of groupthink drones on digg think about my music preferences.
- riverstyx, on 11/23/2009, -3/+19KMFDM typically has 1/3rd of each albums with lyrics about KMFDM. I'm not annoyed, I love their music, but it's been over 20 years now.
- wtfitsRICK, on 11/23/2009, -3/+19If you love all of these artists, you absolutely do. Especially Korn. For the love of God, Korn.
- ZSparkman, on 11/23/2009, -2/+18Yeah and also The Cure - all of their songs are about being heart broken. Seriously, that bitch who wronged Robert Smith all those years ago must be kicking herself.
- captininsanity, on 11/23/2009, -3/+19I was suprised they didn't mention Linkin Park. It's good music, but to be honest all of the lyrics are about the same stuff. I kinda angsty and emotion driven...
- Tyrghast, on 11/23/2009, -5/+20Hybrid Theory and the Hybrid Theory Remixes were great, and even Meteora had a couple good songs, but pretty much everything since then has been *****.
- 83JB, on 11/23/2009, -0/+15He peaked at Antichrist Superstar, and then he started to over-expose himself and wasn't quite as shocking anymore. I guess it also helped that his first 3 albums were produced by Trent Reznor.
- BigVi, on 11/23/2009, -2/+17Carrie Underwood. We understand Tony Romo dumped you for Jessica Simpson. Move on.
- dafragsta, on 11/23/2009, -0/+14I know, I know for sure.
Ding dang do dong ding dang do dong ding dang. - idontknowpizza, on 11/23/2009, -0/+14He's actually from Missouri. He just grew up in Warren (Detroit).
