Spooner Oldham - Shaggy3, on 01/15/2009, -4/+56Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke anyway.
- codyman, on 01/15/2009, -20/+64***** Metallica - could think of 100+ other bands more deserving than those greedy snobs
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -5/+37Rick Astley, your time will come.
- onefish2, on 01/15/2009, -3/+32Still no Rush or ELP or Peter Gabriel or Yes. There is a ton of very influential bands that they regularly "forget" about.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -7/+34Metallica? Great, more excuses for Lars to wax poetic about how relevant they still are.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -14/+38Greedy snobs they may be, but they were pioneers of thrash metal and have sold well over 100,000,000 albums worldwide.
- megapeg, on 01/15/2009, -2/+26No Stooges? Typical.
- happysmile, on 01/15/2009, -7/+30but before they greedy snobs they put out some of the best metal to date. Kill'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice For All. remember the awesomeness of these albums. besides the 100+ bands you're thinking of , I bet half wouldn't be around without Metallica.
- idiosyncrisia, on 01/15/2009, -1/+22Aww man, no Kanye? He's the best or something isn't he?
- MikeyTwit, on 01/15/2009, -4/+23Metallica is in before Rush? WTF!!?
- FuzzplugJones, on 01/15/2009, -6/+23Buried because I'm a Rush fan.
- wtfhacksDan, on 01/15/2009, -7/+22http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/2541/1231895557 ...
- bigfatphony19, on 01/15/2009, -0/+15Shut the hell up.
Jeff Beck is one of the most important guitarists of all time.
He influenced Hendrix and was doing some of the most innovative stuff ever for his time. He has also successfully leapt from genre to genre, his most recent music being (awesome) electronic stuff.
The only way your comment makes any sense is if you think Jeff Beck is the artist Beck. - inactive, on 01/15/2009, -2/+16No *****! It's ludicrous that Rush isn't in.
- CrazyElf, on 01/15/2009, -1/+13Rush is the number 4 band of all time for most platinum records sold (Behind only The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith) and they don't even get a passing glace.
- dlm85, on 01/15/2009, -1/+13Rush fans will storm the rock and roll half of fame someday. We will be chanting, "ATTENTION ALL PLANETS OF THE SOLAR FEDERATION, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL, WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL."
- QuackAttack818, on 01/15/2009, -0/+12OF SALESMEN!
- Niubai, on 01/15/2009, -1/+13Perhaps now Lars Ulrich can finally buy his gold-plated shark tank.
- Ramownz, on 01/15/2009, -3/+15The Stooges are more important and better than all of those bands.
- aufte, on 01/15/2009, -0/+11May the angry soul of Cliff Burton bitch-slap the Chuck Taylors off the pansy-asses of the nu-scene.
- rattz, on 01/15/2009, -6/+16RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH f*&k metallica RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH RUSH
- speedk0re, on 01/15/2009, -0/+10dugg up because i'm assuming you just forgot to close your sarcasm tag
- marcus1060, on 01/15/2009, -1/+10Metallica and no Rush? Ewwww!
- lpmiller, on 01/15/2009, -1/+10No hall and oats. No Devo. No Rush. No T-Rex. Cleftones. The Guess Who. Darlene Love. Hell, how can you have Run DMC before you have The Sugarhill Gang?
It shouldn't be about how much you love a band, but what kind of foot print they left on music and the industry. Each one of those bands were far more important then Metalica. Who don't get me wrong, deserve a spot too. - 1ShotJake, on 01/15/2009, -1/+10and what do you say to the amount of influence they have had on the rock/metal genre in the last 30 years?
can't everybody just forget 1992-2005 ever even happened and enjoy their old stuff like me? - aufte, on 01/15/2009, -0/+9I'm really torn between digging that up or down because Rush is awesome but I agree that Madonna sucks...
- wtfhacksDan, on 01/15/2009, -1/+9While I'm at it
http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5659/bargainspj ... - Shaggy3, on 01/15/2009, -1/+9Kanye is the "voice of this generation, of this decade," to be exact.
- bigfatphony19, on 01/15/2009, -1/+9***** yeah for Jeff Beck, he's deserved it for a LONG time.
Still no Deep Purple though..***** them. - darkbob87, on 01/15/2009, -4/+11Where the fu*k is RUSH?
- level32, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6RUN D.M.C. are pioneers. They are not the first rap group, but definitely paved the way for many artists (Rap and Rock).
Take a listen to Raising Hell (the whole album). Mostly Rock playing in the background.
This was common back then... after they made it more popular. - boydrew, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6To echo others, Rush definately. But also I think that Brian Eno is an incredibly underrated man in rock and roll responsible for many of Bowie's hits, U2's hits, and has a substantial credible musical career of his own. He is much more underrated and less likely to be inducted than most...but imo he is well deserving.
- racerxjj67, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6Agreed! Stooges are by far one of the most influential bands ever. Nirvana, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, etc. And those are all hall of famers. The Ramone's are already in. Hell, Iggy could go in alone.
- pigeonfeather, on 01/15/2009, -0/+6The R&RHOF is a waste.I don't need some suit telling me what is good music. When you hear good music you know it is good.
With that said where the hell is RUSH???? - sndchsr, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5I'd rather be out having sex than hearing someone sing about it. Metallica was probably influenced by Rush or Yes, yet they get in first? Peart kicks Lars ass at drumming!
- superterrorizer, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5Don't get me wrong, I love Metallica, but Rush 2112 is probably one of the most influential albums of all time. That includes influencing James and Kirk heavily along with the NWOBHM. Rush is still around and fairly popular for good reason.
- implica, on 01/15/2009, -2/+7The Stooges were far more influential than MC5, and less era-specific.
- DrewPeacock, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6Meh...
I guess you can't please everyone. - voteobama4, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5So have the Backstreet Boys.
- bjs3171, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6and in 15 years or so Beck damn well better be in there.
I do love me some Jeff Beck, though. - Goya, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5Anyone notice there is no Rush?
Surprised no one said anything... - speedk0re, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6Metallica died with Cliff Burton
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6You guys forget - Run-D.M.C. are the kings of rock, there is none higher Sucker MC's should call them sire.

No Deep Purple, and people are angry about Rush?
Grave injustice, that. - Tyrghast, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5Hey dude, you can curse on the internet. It's ok. No one cares.
- Tyrghast, on 01/15/2009, -0/+5If we're going to do this Petebot, lets do it right.
A modern day warrior, a mean mean stride, today's Tom Sawyer, mean mean pride - Canada4Life, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6RRHoF can kiss my ass, where the hell is Rush?!
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -1/+6The Rick and Roll hall of fame?
