Thanks,
The Internet - kanojo1969, on 05/08/2009, -3/+11No doubt the man is a genius, and I love almost every song he's released as the white stripes.
But ***** me, he looks just like Brian Peppers most of the time, truly the creepiest guy in rock music. - blinker265, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6he looks like death in picture 10
- digitul, on 05/09/2009, -3/+8yeah its popular so it sucks! i hate mainstream! i'm cool and underground! you favorite band sucks!
- crackedlogic, on 05/09/2009, -2/+7and Meg White still looks strangely sexy.
- x1soundgarden1x, on 05/09/2009, -6/+10Who gives a flying f*ck about Jack White? What is with Rolling Stones' obsession with this guy? I just read 5 minutes ago that they put him at no. 17 on their Greatest 100 guitarists of all-time list. No. 17! John McLaughlin was no.49!!!! On what planet does that make any sense? I am devoting the rest of my internet days to burying any Jack White related story by rolling stone because they are clearly in his labels' pocket.
- thefreehunter, on 05/09/2009, -0/+3Who the ***** is John McLaughlin?
- Cyberdactyl, on 05/09/2009, -0/+3"Looks like Micheal Jackson?"
Give me a break.
I say he's a dead Ringer for Johnny Depp. - thefreehunter, on 05/09/2009, -1/+4@branbot
Yet you didn't. The true genius is not in complexity, but in arrangement. It is simple, yet sounds fantastic. It doesn't pretend to go over the top, it just puts itself out there true and awesome. Sort of like another, similar band, the Black Keys. Just two guys, one on drums one on guitar and singing. Doesn't need to have a full backing band selling out a stadium to be fantastic. - inactive, on 05/09/2009, -1/+3ITT: People hopelessly and stubbornly addicted to their own egotistical opinions on music.
Anytime someone says something even remotely negative about your precious Jack you Digg it down instead of having a conversation about conflicting views? New on Digg NOW! Comments are only for performing filatio on your favorite artists! - hiPpymIck, on 05/09/2009, -0/+2ive noticed sometimes the fewer the band members the heavier the guitar sound
3 pieces - Hendrix Rory Gallagher Cream
2 pieces - White Stripes
guess it has to compensate for whats not there - 5wallace, on 05/09/2009, -0/+2exactly. I totally agree. I personally love that each album released by The White Stripes is an evolution of their music. They are constantly experimenting and this leads to new genres of music on almost everyone of their albums. Their albums have spanned garage / punk rockish, alternative, country, hard rock, bluegrass, folk, etc. And Jack is talented enough to pull off almost all of the music / lyrics on his own with little help from Meg (although I think Meg's minimalist stylings work perfectly with the band).
- tm13lke, on 05/09/2009, -1/+2thank you. i hate when people say things like, "its so simple!". that doesn't matter at all. look at iron man. one of the best goddamn songs out there and its also one of the easiest.
- theOster, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1@ branbot - i could also pick up some paint and create a jackson pollock or with a bit more care, maybe a cubist picasso - doesn't mean a whole lot.
personally, i'm just a sucker for the simple "boy tries to win girl" songs. - inactive, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1The Black Keys are an amazing band (IMO) who take a lot of their influences from Blues and Southern Rock. Their guitar arrangements are actually skilled from their first to latest album. Though they share similar influences with The White Stripes, they are nothing alike. I've never been able to recreate a Black Keys song just by picking up my friend's guitar. Case closed.
- FatGuyLilCoat, on 05/09/2009, -2/+3I like several popular musicians - Rolling Stones, David Bowie, etc, but this band is crap.
- inactive, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1I don't know. I think there's a difference between finding beauty in the simplicity of a certain rift and just throwing three or four arrangements together and putting a single drum beat in the background. That's just my opinion. Just couldn't really get into them after hearing their first few albums. Though I must admit some of their newer stuff with the bluegrass esque twang caught my ear, though I find that most of their songs just resort back to their old habits I'm not so fond of.
@thefreehunter, I'm pretty sure your music needs to be considered fantastic before you sell a stadium out. Horrible analogy trying to show the White Stripes as the little guy. Yea I'm an *****. - inactive, on 05/09/2009, -3/+3Yea the music got pretty stale fairly quickly to me. Their first few hits were so simple I could play it on the drums and guitar and I play neither instrument.
- Applequest, on 05/09/2009, -3/+3Put aside all of the strange/interesting clothing, the man is one of the greatest musicians of our time. Anyone who has followed the stripes knows how many different instruments he has played on those albums. Now he is in a new band as a drummer, which was about the only thing he didn't do with the stripes. His songwriting has always been excellent. He is a musician in every sense of the word.
- krakow056, on 05/10/2009, -0/+0Mark my words: in 5/8 years he'll look like and old lesbian.
- DextramPennae, on 05/09/2009, -1/+1I don't love everything Jack has done, but he is one of the most creative individuals in music today.
- hiPpymIck, on 05/09/2009, -2/+2like the Pearly King and Queen outfits - a London tradition since 1875

a costermonger is a market trader - usually fruit and veg - insanebrain, on 05/09/2009, -1/+1maybe he should team up with jack black. . and white :)
- torrentdeath, on 05/09/2009, -0/+0Nice try, I don't care about the popularity of bands I listen to. I am just saying that whenever someone says they listen to "alternative" music they mostly only like the most popular mainstream guitar bands with pretty boys in them like The Killers, Arctic Monkeys... They don't even consider listening to anything that isn't hyped by media like Rolling Stone, NME etc.
- FatGuyLilCoat, on 05/09/2009, -2/+1I dugg you, but I figure we'll both get buried because people have some strange obsession with this band that writes very boring songs.
- thefreehunter, on 05/09/2009, -1/+0Done and done.
- fuckupedoslut, on 05/09/2009, -3/+2Ick. Nast.
I do like White Stripes though. - torrentdeath, on 05/09/2009, -7/+4Mediocre group with a couple of great songs.
Ofc digg people don't know or even try to find better/other music and only listen to what gets hyped in mainstream media, but who cares. I liked them when I was 14, after 6 years they sound so boring. - inactive, on 05/09/2009, -7/+2He's alright...no guitar god in my book though. Then again I think Jimmy Page is a joke so, take what I say with a grain of salt.
