- Koldark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty sweet... will have to see how good it is...

At least in the case of the publication I'm talking about. (KYFM) Permission is obtained from all parties involved, for music and the like. - geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.digg.com/software/MenuetOS;_Will_it_be_your_next_OS_
I had seen it on TSS a couple years ago and never tried it then and eventually forgot about it. 77 days ago I saw it on digg and this time I gave it a try. It didn't like my computer and failed booting. Today I see it's on digg again, but this time I'm not going to bother with it again. And that's the story of my MenuetOS ordeal. The end. - Pooavenger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why not just wait for the album to leak then download it...
- Absalon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and these other publications are LEgal?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I checked out KillYourFM and 75minutes, which both seem like cool sites. As the host of the Permission podcast (yeah, me), I wouldn't want anyone to listen to only one show. The whole point is to subscribe to a bunch of your favorite podcasts, and you can ditch your radio completely!
We're doing this show because we get a lot of amazing material from various labels every week for review; combined with the fact that people are always asking me what good stuff is new, it seemed like an obvious idea to start a weekly show. Plus, it's really fun to make.
If anyone would like to make a "competing" podcast, please do, there's room for everyone! - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool idea. I like that a lot of podcasters are starting to work with the labels... Coverville being one major example of this.

However, your ending would be best placed in a different book. ;) - sabster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0too bad no one has even heard of that stuff
- cyberfelon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sabster: That's the best thing about this podcast, it lets you find new and interesting music.
- geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0son of a... wrong story >_

Tabs are evil my friend.
Good link, but this has been going on for a while now.
Still dugg though. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"People act like this is a new concept. Pre-release music is one of the best things about podcasting. The PSP magazine Kill Your FM (killyourfm.com) as well as some of the podcasters who contribute to it, have been doing it for months."
Uhhh... What's your concept of "old" then? That seems pretty new to me. Many more people will become aware of this over the next year or so. That's how long I give most things like this (popularity-wise) to become ubiquitous like you think it is now.
This is a pretty cool thing. I'm diggin' it. - siouxmoux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I still prefer dicovering new music thru the soulseek way.
- wisewaif, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah http://www.75minutes.com has been doing this awhile. They focus on independent music, but they have all the cool stuff early. They had the new Deerhoof CD on the episode they released today. They also have the chapters in iTunes.
- jaredvolkl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0we do this on www.decoymusic.com

There are a boatload of "underground" publications that are reviewing music now, this seems to be just one of many.
I'll stick with KYFM.
