- PunkFenixJT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Please let this movie do well and let there be a Robotech live action movie!!
- albinoMithos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Please oh god please be the lion force. That's the only way I'll be happy
- rafa1215, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't mind them doing stuff like this as long as it's done the right . I loved the xmen cartoons and they got that right. So far.
- hawks5999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2and on the Voltron topic: With Transformers and Voltron in production, how long before we get a GI Joe - A Real American Hero live action series of movies. I think I'd like to see a Quentin Tarrantino take on GI Joe:
Knowing's half the f**king battle, c**ks**ker! - SoonerDude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hope they use the fighting lions and not the stupid spaceships.
- buzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@madpuppy
I'm pretty sure you are talking about 'Star Blazers' - joe_prbc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Voltron Rocks. And as much as I hate these crappy movie remakes of cool stuff from the past. I am excited about this. It had better be the lions, that all I am saying. But if Thundercats where to become a movie, jessica simpson is cheetara, and the olsen twins are kit and kat.
- binarystar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, It would be pretty nice to see a Thundercats movie in production.
- KobraKommander, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1you know I don't get it.. when I was a kid (mid 70's mid 80's) I had a blast watching all the imported japanamation stuff like Starblazers, robotech, voltron, tranzor z and the rest. to me those are precious memories of the best times of my life and I am so stoked to see them reborn today so my kids can have a chance to see these awsome shows too. why do some of you piss and moan about it? so what if they don't make the movies exact clones of the show, hell at least they are doing it at all. I was worried transformers would suck ass when I saw the re-done characters but I was surprised when I went to see the movie that it actually was pretty good. it wasn't a perfect translation of the show but it was good enough to remind me of how cool it was to watch as a kid and I still got into it. I think unless ewe boll gets his hands on our favorite shows they could be decent movies if not great movies. and I give a +1 to hoping to see robotech done soon as well as a tranzor z movie with count De capito! he was great especially when he got mad and threw his head around hahaha.
- MorpheoZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't mind Hollywood doing remakes... like someone said before... X-men (the movie) wasn't so bad... but the Dukes of Hazzard SUCKS! big time!
I hope like almost everybody else it'll be the Lion force for the Voltron movie... and if they are going to keep doing this... it would be interesting to see a Thundercats movie or Mazinger! - AT0MIC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1:crosses fingers: please dont let it be all CGI...
- samantha2371, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My question, is, where the heck did this site get their info. They are asking if 5 robots, is Lions, or cars. HELLO, EVERY FAN KNOWS THAT 5 IS LIONS, AND 18 IS CARS. So where do they get these guy's, anyway.
Hi, new here.
Edith - binarystar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Go, go Power Rangers! Oh.. OHHH! Nevermind.
- joe_prbc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1eventhough I know one of the kids was a boy, the olsen twins should still be in tights!
- Dracos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@Polly: Agreed.
The "five smaller robots" must mean the lions... the vehicle Voltron (which was dumb) had about 18 smaller bots. - jesterx80, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and by the way the voltron movie has the robot lions and not the vehicles. they will also go into to explain why when they get the robot lions why they dont form voltron immedialty
- hawks5999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@madpuppy
if not Star Blazers, it sounds a lot like Robotech: Macross Saga
It's funny, I've been thinking that the new BSG seems a lot like Robotech: Macross. Anybody else think Commander Gloval and Adama (Olmos) seem to be the same archetype character? - bmrumble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't wait for this. And although I tend to agree that Hollywood is out of ideas, you have to think that remaking television shows is just good marketing in this age of DVD. You can easily tie in DVD collections of these shows to the release of the movies... and who wouldn't want the entire Voltron series on DVD? A simple suggestion to those who are up in arms about the movie being produced: don't go see it.
- KYDS3K, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1GI Joe would rock . . . i say they need to do a Thundercats and/or Silverhawks one toooooooo
- jesterx80, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1if you would read usa today they had a small article talking about a voltron movie a tranformers movie and several other cartoons series
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thanks allot "buzz" and "hawks5999" I was definitely Star Blazers, I haven't seen that show since I was a kid I got to go find me a fansub. (now with much older eyes it will probably be painful to watch!)
- castufari, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wait until they do Return of the Brady Bunch or Return to Gilligan's Island.
- Shawnb415, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Also there are only three versions of voltron. Two of them were seen on american television. They are the five lions(the best of the whole series), the 21 vehicle which really sucked. and the three robot one. That one never made it to america. I think a robotech movie would be nice. As to the guy who posted about the olsen twins, on problem dude, the twins on thundercats were one boy and one girl. So scratch them out.
- KiethBlackLion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0If anyone wants to know the real story, check out my website ( http://www.geocities.com/kiethblacklion ). I have read the script and posted a review for it. The address for the review is http://www.geocities.com/kiethblacklion/Scriptreview.html
Warning though, there are major spoilers so, unless you want to know what's going on, don't read it. - Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Go, go Power Rangers! Oh.. OHHH! Nevermind."
BAHAHHAAHHAA, you beat me to it you prick! - rdsnation510, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Its about time go Voltron force !!!
- pikabko1, on 12/05/2007, -0/+0I got to kick this s h i t! Traszor Z, Robo tech , Voltron is a copy ight law breaking crap! Its Mazonger Z, Macross, GOLION! how dare he talksabout Tranzor Z!
- miscreationx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Sven died in GoLion. They edited that when it was brought to the States and changed into Voltron.
- Shawnb415, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0First of all Sven never died. He was just injured badly. Second. Five robots mean lion. There was only one voltron set that had five robots. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!
- chicomdk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I liked vehicle voltron yes i liked lions better but the vehicle head one was cool too
- alvinwriter, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I think Voltes V would prove to have a more engaging story than Voltron, if it were to be made into a live action movie.
http://hotsup.blogspot.com/ - whitetrash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sweetness. I want to stay hopefull but I can see this ending very badly.
- blacktone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Let's see Voltron Get Served!
http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=voltron20 - kfstickman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Quick someone started making a robot movie so we have to do it too!
- raybones, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0When America bought license to Golion and change the name to Voltron, I'm okay,
When America bought license to Dairugger XV and change the name to Voltron again, it started to spark tiny flame in my heart.
Then came the CGI Voltron....which is total crap, makes me questioned where are the creative ideas gone to....
Then this so-called REMAKE of Voltron, geeesh - maxdefcon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0this is great! i had to bust out my 1984 series III voltron set! check it out here - http://www.theglitch.ws
- ippersiel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Gilligan's Island was done as a TV Reality Show... it sank last I know.
Hollywood got tired of redoing movies... (wait sorry, I'm wrong there...) uhmm.... so Hollywood decided to move to making major films out of old tv shows now... (that makes no sense now!)
Anyways, Hollywood is out of ideas and, instead of asking us what we think, they'd rather redo shows into movies that we cherished and hope to make a buck off of it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0holy crap!! I haven't heard the name voltron in years!! hey Come to think of it, does anybody here remember that animae show that was kind of like battlestar galactica where the entire population had to flee thier planet on a "ship" that appeared to be buried partially underground and with it's conning tower sticking up out of the ground covered in earth? but, actually was some super advanced space ship. (like a colony/warship) I really cannot remember the protagonist being or race though....weird? that is all I can remember of the show, it was around the time Voltron was on the air.
- tehsuck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Lammmmmme. Please, someone wake me up when they stop ruining stuff from my childhood, oh wait, that'll be never. :sigh:
- cell-gfx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Erm, "The Day After Tomorrow" was just plain crap. It doesn't bode well.
- heavyness, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0they should just make a movie out of the first couple episodes and have the princess take over after the one guy dies.
if done good, might be enjoyable. i really don't see this getting a high budget since its going to be hard to sell to people [giant robot movie?]. i rather a Japanese studio do this, and do it right. - Polly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Son of a BITCH. Leave my childhood alone and get some NEW ideas. You know...CREATIVITY? Ever heard of that one Hollywood?
- duddman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Here we go again. Another TV remake...will it never end. Can we just call this "sampling" like in the music industry?
- Anth, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0YES. I
