Ahh, good to know. It would be a BIT less confusing if they weren't naming the set that comes out in a couple weeks Season Two then :P Thanks for the clarification though. - lordsandwich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They'd be crazy not to renew this show.
- Derrekito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YAY!
- RLJ1.51, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Hopefully they will get something near a full season this time. 1st season was around 13 episodes, 2nd season was only about 10. Still have no idea what was going on there :P - kirin (0)"

What makes it even more confusing is at the end of the 1st part of the season (with BG, SG-1 and Atlantis), they always say 'Season Finale', when in fact it really isn't, it's more like the 'Hiatus' episode.
Anyone know why they split the season? Is it because they don't want a 6 month gap between seasons like on traditional networks like NBC and Fox? Or is it something else? - dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Comparing Battlestar and Lost is just wrong. The shows are both sci-fi, but the similarities stop there. Both shows are excellent, very well written, and have that ability to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
In the case of Battlestar, they took an established franchise that had a cult following, and upgraded it from the 70's model to something that is dark, serious, and very believable. The effects are seamless with the story, and don't overshadow the plotlines.
In Lost you have an excellent sci-fi thriller that keeps you guessing, and has generated a buzz in the fanbase on the Internet unlike anything ever seen. They keep the plot twists just weird enough to make you wonder, WTF? I only hope the ending (because a series like this screams for one) doesn't disappoint.
Both shows managed to put out excellent season-ending cliffhangers (when their respective seasons ended). They are both time well spent in front of the idiot box.
And yes, I AM a mogul. - Tonyisbad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0We all new this was giong to happen, with SG-1 going down the drain in stories, and atlantis not being as good as scifi claims, they would keep the only great show they have going for them.
- suMMx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0while i love battlestar galactica its not quite better than lost. Those two shows are the best shows on TV though.
- Crazyguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YES!
Now All I Need For The World To Be Perfect Is New Episodes Of The X-Files, And Firefly - macdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I didn't realize a 3rd season was in doubt. BSG is the best show on TV, followed closely by Boston Legal. Glad to hear it is coming back...for sure.
- doctorklein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0or frakking!, whatever.
- ThomasAnderson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thank the lord, Ive seen every episode of SG-1 twice and im kinda gettin sick of it. looking forward to the third season of Galactica though
- FourDoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can't wait to see the second half of season 2! =D
- doctorklein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you mean you fragging love BSG!
- Trapped, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great news! It's the best television series currently produced in the U.S.
- Lynxpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Now if they'd only pick up the rights to the new *Doctor Who*... - RWVolkl158, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've always liked Sci-fi shows, but something about the new Battlestar Galactica just turns me off... It just seems so generic. I don't know, maybe watching the entire first season wasn't giving it enough of a chance =/
- pminze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOOT......
- cfazzini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweeeeeet... Definately love this show.
- Sithlrd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It makes me sad the be informed that this news was ever in doubt.
- nolf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1best scripted show on television that's funny
1-the wire
2-deadwood
3-arrested development
etc... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with lordsandwich, it'd be stupid not to renew this show.
..also, how did this make it to the fron page with only 26 diggs? - raano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I didn't even know that a third season was in question. Sci-Fi channel must be a bunch of morons...
- Veloxi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah!
- iheartbeer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like BG quite a bit, but it can't hold a candle to LOST. Don't even know why they're being compared.
Glad it'll be around for another season, but as others have pointed out.., why was there even a question? - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome!
- Kirin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hopefully they will get something near a full season this time. 1st season was around 13 episodes, 2nd season was only about 10. Still have no idea what was going on there :P
- Zidion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0awesome. I friggin love BSG!
- Cybrwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh Yeah! This show just kicks Ass!!!
- Kindred420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0frack yeah! Im really enjoying this season.
- aiwha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Anyone know why they split the season? Is it because they don't want a 6 month gap between seasons like on traditional networks like NBC and Fox? Or is it something else?"
So they can get more money out of the fans by tricking them in to buying two season two sets. - tbechtx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really look forward to each new episode of this show. WOO HOO!
- ClaiE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's cool.... I try to have good time with other tv show as Lost invasion... But it's definitely not the same..
(And I think that's the last BSG was just a hiatus episode too even if Sci-fi said that it was the season finale.. (maybe it's only a hope :p)) - Korvaras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0YES!
- Heilemann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's been confirmed for a month+...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ohh noo.. not this dumb show..
- TimmyK., on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"It's not better than ...blahblahblah... ect."
Why do people act like they won't be happy until the series that they prefer is heralded by all as the best? Is it only possible to like one particular show at a time or something? Do you even have to decide what shows you like most of all? I watch a bunch of shows and rarely do I ever even consider which I actually like more. Mainly because I CAN WATCH AND ENJOY A WHOLE BUNCH OF DIFFERENT SHOWS. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"SciFi spent what 10 Million bucks for 20-something horrible made-for-TV movies. Why not shuffle that money into something that is actually good and gets the network ratings?"
Because those movies actually DO get the network ratings.
I agree with everyone disputing the fact that Battlestar Galactica is better than Lost. I wish it was, since I'm a huge fan of this show, but that's just not how it is. Lost is definitely a better show, and Battlestar is close behind at #2. I'd say that 24 is #3 and... well, that's about all I watch on TV. Every other show just cannot compare. Maybe some early episodes of The West Wing are quite good, but that's about it.
Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and 24 are the only reason I watch scripted television. - mdavis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fracking awesome! I didn't give BSG a chance until a couple of months ago, and now I'm all caught up. This is the best show on TV, bar none. LOST is exceptional, but even it has some sub-par episodes. BSG is top-notch every single week.
- mercano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Anyone know why they split the season? Is it because they don't want a 6 month gap between seasons like on traditional networks like NBC and Fox? Or is it something else?"
My guess is SciFi is scheduling their A-list first run episodes to run when there is the least competition from the major networks, during the time that everyone else's shows are on summer and winter breaks. - weblava, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Love it. Very nice.
www.dlldb.com - Lynxpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
The sad matter-of-fact is that the previously mentioned abysmal SciFi Original Pictures are still better than anything televised on G4 outside of the M-F 6:00am PST time slot. - gattix68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like BG but Rome Kicks ass and gets some literally.
- oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now, if they just keep firefly coming... I like that dark haired beauty, but she would leave a ring around your thing, and you might lose your bling~
Tricia Helfer is Omnipotent! That crooked smile gets me every time.
My opinions are scarred, but reputable!! - rockyrobins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0WOOHOO!!!
- Incognito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So this show will eventually have space battles right? I've seen 6 episodes and no space ship battles.
- whereisian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best. Show. Evar.
... and shot it sunny Vancouver - DogHumpsMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wasn't too thrilled with BSG after watching the mini-series, so I never watched it as a series until half way through season two (which I guess is technically a quarter way through, since we don't get the second half until Jan). Now I'm hooked and glad it got the green light for season three. Now I just need to pick up the season one DVD so I can watch all those episodes that I so foolishly passed up.
- silent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0didnt know this was up in the air. One of my favorite shows by far.
- TheGooseyOne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thank you, Mr. State Opinions as Fact
