Right link this time - awfl, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3One of my favorite movies of all time.
Find the Kino b&w restoration; be sure to locate the tinted 1984 Moroder version with rock soundtrack (you either hate it or love it). Be aware that significant parts of the movie were lost over time, but a single poor copy was recently found in a cinema library in south america and will soon restore some of the lost scenes. I understand that maybe another single copy was found in a university somewhere? I am half through Fritz Lang's "Woman in the Moon" as well and think of it highly so far. - falconear, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I was more excited about the trailer for Marvel's SIEGE storyline, personally. Does this mean that they're restoring everything to status quo?
- awfl, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1I think they hit the list head-on for classic scifi movies; every one of these are in my top twenty classics.
I'd add to the list 2001, Valley of Gwangi, Gattaca, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, 20000 Leagues, When World Collide, and 20 Million Miles to Earth. I later added Aelita, Solaris (Russian) and Lang's Woman on the Moon, among others. - inactive, on 11/06/2009, -1/+1The anime version of metropolis was excellent, though not really related to the original. I haven't seen the original, but if it's as good as it sounds, I'll certainly find a copy somewhere.
