- webmaniac, on 06/23/2008, -2/+20quality of the summary sure is going down by the minute here on digg, don't people check what they submit anymore?
- inactive, on 06/23/2008, -0/+11no, they always stupidly rush to submit and only bother checking the captcha twice.
- MatthewK, on 06/23/2008, -0/+10This sounds like a good deal to me! Now I just need to get off my lazy butt and make a damn movie....
- HyperJack, on 06/23/2008, -0/+8LIES!
- monsieurgrand02, on 06/23/2008, -0/+7You are absolutely correct. Thank you for informing the world of this.
- muniak, on 06/23/2008, -0/+6"YouTube said people whose clips regularly attract a million viewers can make several thousand dollars a month." Google's crumbs may not sound like much to you but I'm down.
- muniak, on 06/23/2008, -0/+5This looks like a pretty good opportunity for struggling writers and actors. I hope it isn't taken advantage of by bigger production companies.

- SSCrow, on 06/23/2008, -0/+3There are ads on Youtube?
- indiehead, on 06/23/2008, -0/+2ahh, i should really shoot that film i've been putting together.
too much to do, way too little time - ISIfunded911, on 06/23/2008, -0/+2It is only a good deal if you end up being one of the four people selected by youtube once a week. That is 200 a year, among the millions of submissions every year that end up getting paid...NOTHING !!!
In the end it is only one more movie studio with all the power, and the artists still have to bow before rich powerful people. - blackturtleus, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1There's so much stuff on YouTube that often it's difficult to find interesting content. Most of what is popular on YouTube is utter crap!!! BUT if you search around there are many gems. The problem is that the old adage about the cream rising to the top doesn't hold true at YouTube. However, making independently produced films readily available is a great idea. Another website might be necessary to help people find these films though!!!
- jessehadden, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the media revolution. If you can produce something good, you can bypass the media mafias entirely.
- SeaSideClown, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Anyone else really annoyed by the fact that he wrote "Independent filmmakers will collect a majority share of ad revenue generated from views of their work" twice??
- robotplague, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Interesting, but I would never trust and willingly hand over my content to a place like YouTube. That's like trusting your kid with Myspace or something.
- readerz, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Stop the Youtube hype they are just copying the smaller guys that are already doing this!
- hiPpymIck, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1 It's quiet in here... can you hear the echo?
- belebih, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Silly copypasta, you left the last sentence inco
- dudefaceguyman, on 06/23/2008, -0/+1Myspace is actually good to use as a webportal. Same with facebook.
Personally I hate using either one of them, but since people search for people all the time on myspace I have a page up along with my e-mail/im/ect listed so they can contact me.
I obviously wouldn't use Myspace/Facebook for business contacting stuff, but for friends/family I haven't talked to in awhile it's quite useful way for them to find me. - dsmx, on 06/23/2008, -1/+1Anyone else think that you tube was getting indiana jones films on it?

- BrinkDVD, on 06/27/2008, -0/+0BrinkDVD is looking for film submissions to possibly add to our catalog. Check out www.brink.com for more details.
- SlowDownandFast, on 08/18/2008, -0/+0This is exactly what indie filmmakers need. A place to showcase our work. The more places that we have available, the more likely we are going to be able to create original content. Check out our film at www.blindlylefilms.com/slowdown and my blog www.slowdownandfast.blogspot.com highlighting our journey of self promotion for our film
- iamcitiz3n, on 06/23/2008, -3/+1just in time for internet2
- inactive, on 06/23/2008, -6/+1I remember reading a couple months ago how google barely makes any money from ad revenues on youtube. I bet indie film makers would be better off trying to sell it rather then trying to collect crumbs from youtube. Plus the majority of youtubes population are 13 year olds who don't even watch independent films--other then the ones on bangbros. If you even want to call them those (more like indeependick films!)
- Sagags, on 06/23/2008, -10/+4youtube is a video hosting website
- inactive, on 06/23/2008, -8/+1Now we can watch a low quality ***** inde movies for free! Yay!
- inactive, on 06/23/2008, -9/+1Ugh. Nobody (and no company) whose work is worth anything would host it on YouTube. That's like using an AOL E-mail address for your business, or a MySpace page as your primary Web portal.
YouTube = AMATEUR HOUR
Actually, that's an insult to most amateurs.
