- luet, on 10/11/2007, -4/+74"Both Spider-Man3 and 300 is up for bashing"
Oh, they is? - bdawg923, on 11/07/2007, -37/+102Buried as inaccurate. 300 was ***** awesome.
- dweeb79, on 10/11/2007, -6/+50I actually liked 300, but you are dead on about Hostel: Part 2. That movie was horrible, it failed at the box office because Eli just isn't as great as everyone thought he was. He is all hype and no hope.
- MSstar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+38"The Harry H. Frazee Award for Biggest *****-Up of a Sure Thing: THE EMOING OF SPIDER-MAN"
agreed... but now we know that emos are a product of alien symbiosis - Richardgm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25I felt so bad about Spiderman 3, I gave back my friend the money he used to pay for me.
- stickyhoney, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Epic Movie is definitely the worst movie for the year so far. Can't believe it's not on the list.....
- jpwhitmore, on 10/11/2007, -5/+24what about Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer? I almost threw up watching that trash
- weddle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18I don't think that he liked Hostel Part 2 that much...
- 1Less, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20I agree with him on Hostel 2. Utter *****! If it wasn't for the fact that he clearly stated that 300 was the worst movie that eveyone else but him liked, I would have felt the need to comment pwn him. Otherwise diggable.
- Unclekoolaid, on 10/11/2007, -5/+21Grindhouse biggest disappointment? I loved Grindhouse, even if he didnt like it that much I can think of bigger disappointments like say Fantastic Four or Shrek 3 and the upcoming Bruce Almighty
- slackbassist, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15With regard to Spiderman, I think that Raimi forgot that he was dealing with Tobey Macguire and not Bruce Campbell.
Bruce Campbell could have TOTALLY pulled that choreography off.
Gimme some sugar, baby - kinseyincanada, on 10/11/2007, -4/+18300 was more like a "popcorn" movie..you go see it in the theaters and shut your brain off and come out and say that was bad ass, but later that week you forget about it, i saw 300 and i liked it but i probably wont ever watch it again, and i think that's what makes a good movie something you would watch again and again
- Beevo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I didn't think it was 'bad' so much as just mindless. It was fun to watch but wasn't necessarily a good movie. I think of it as an "Event Movie", one you had to see in a theater with the speakers blaring and on a BIG screen, and it will fade into oblivion now. It just won't have the same 'punch' when on a TV screen.
- gmprunner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9EVAN Almighty
- skjede, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I just walked out of Mr. Brooks and I'm let down that it isn't on the list.
Who gave Dane Cook permission to start acting? - addictedidol, on 10/11/2007, -7/+16Sucks for him that he didn't like 300. I personally loved it, because I saw it for what it is a hack and slash film with great effects. Also I've always loved that Spartan story.
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Hot Fuzz? Are you kidding? That has to be one of the best movies ever made.
Also, The Departed came out last year. - luet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I liked it. More than the first at least.
- chawkie, on 10/11/2007, -9/+16This guy is an idiot...these films (besides Norbit and Blood and Chocolate, who the ***** has even seen Blood and Chocolate) are some of the better films of the year. I liked his best of list but come on, there are many, many worse films then the ones listed here. I mean, Wild Hogs anyone?
- Zambonilli, on 10/11/2007, -10/+17Where is the horrible pirates 3 movie?
- bondfreak05, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13This guy's pretty much a hypocrite.
Taken from "Best of 2007 Movies: The First Half:"
"Best movie NO ONE liked but me:
PRIMEVAL
It’s a giant crocodile eating people.
You can tell me that it’s exploitative and cheesy and predictable, but I… I just don’t care!. I do not give a solitary Tinker’s Damn.
It’s a giant crocodile… eating people!
You… you want more?
JESUS you ***** are pushy…"
Taken from this article:
"Worst Film EVERYONE liked but me: 300
1. Someone gets speared.
2. Someone gets beheaded.
3. Someone falls off a cliff.
4. Someone gets shot with an arrow.
Just these four shots were played at various speeds throughout the entire middle of 300, so much so that I felt like I was being beaten about the head and shoulders with a tack hammer by LeBron James. Apparently I was the only one who noticed that JUST FOUR SHOTS doesn’t make a movie, because I had to sit through Internet yahoos typing out “THIS! IS! SPARTA!” for a month and a half because they were in shallow, geeky ecstasy.
“STOP THAT! It makes you look like a ***** nimrod!
How one-trick IS your movie when the South Park parody is better than the actual film?
“VIVA LA GARRISON!”"
He says the greatest movie no one liked was mindless and repetitive, but bashes 300 for the same reason.. - Aldhelm, on 10/11/2007, -22/+28300 was the gayest piece of ***** i have ever seen. So the good guys are strong muscle bounded greeks who love freedom and are willing to fight to death while looking homoerotic. While the bad guys are the Persians who are a mix of mutants and are black. Lets ignore the fact that Iranians are the original white people. This film is like the KKK film Bith of A Nation. All the bad guys are evil and ugly and the good guys are good looking.
Anybody who liked this homoerotic racist crap needs to have their head examined. - IbuddhaI, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Grindhouse or 300 definitely should not be placed on the same list as Norbit.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7That is a badass wordpress theme.
- dweeb79, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I think the story was dead on, sometimes we don't need outrageous deep stories to make something work. Americans love story, and you learn that in Film classes yet critics of the film think the story was lacking. In reality thats the only reason it was successful like the Matrix, Memnto, Traffic, Braveheart, Pulp Fiction and so on. Great films don't rake in residual money because of special effects. Sure the special effects gets the initial crowd through the door but it's the story that keeps em coming back.
- nintendoagekid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Most movies for me fall into see on DVD, wish i seen on DVD, really good, and waisted my time. Had i stayed awake for the entirety of Sparta I'd say it wasted my time however I had one of my most restful naps in years thanks to this movie only good part being that drunken oracle or whatever. I think I'd rather just watch Spartacus and here the oyster/clams comment all over again
- TheLoneWolf071, on 10/11/2007, -14/+19300 was awesome... I loved it... not cause of story, etc... just cause it kicked ass... SP-3 was bad again not because of story, but because of Emo'd ness, and the parts of just total embarrassment it made me see it once... lol
- Jagdwulfe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Hail to the King, baby
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Can't comment on Shrek 3 because I've never liked the series, but Fantastic 4 never really got hopes up too high because the first one was so awful, and if the new Bruce Almighty hasn't been released yet it can't be a disappointment yet.
- s1mph0ny, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5That's not what a disappointment is. Disappointment is when the movie was supposed to be good. There wasn't anyway to save Shrek after Part 2. Fantastic 4 wasn't good enough to merit a sequel.
I think I agree about "evan almightly" though, the modern day flood story has already been done. There's no way it can be as good as Bruce without the Jim Carey factor either. - Computer_Kid, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8What we need are some more snakes on planes!
- ndiderrich, on 10/11/2007, -6/+10I would probably take Norbit over Hostel Part 2 for worst movie this year. By the way, why should we follow this guy's opinion, if you like a movie, you like it, "nuff" said.
- Firehed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4He wasn't. He was stating his opinions, not telling you what yours should be. The real point of movie critics is to help you decide whether it's probably worth your eight bucks (since getting a refund would be impossible) - reading reviews after you've coughed up is just pointless.
- Hermitwise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I actually feel better about using Old Spice now that Bruce Campbell does the commercials.
- spidoman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I think it's a tough battle between Pirates 3 and Spidey 3. Although I think Pirates 3 wins in terms of just pure crap. Spider-Man 3 could have been a lot better, but holy crap, I wouldn't not go waste 3 hours watching Pirates 3 again if someone paid me. Everyone gets to be Johnny Depp, and one (boring) sword fight.
- DeathBorn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4300...bad? BLASPHEMY! MADNESS!
- dweeb79, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5I thought it was 10000 times better then the first. If you watch the first directors cut you will actually like it (more story). The 2nd one filled in a lot but I felt that they needed it as a PG-13 and 20 minutes longer to make a story with backbone.
- CapeKid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Venom needed Red's foot up his ass.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yeah because men just love seeing 300 men stand around fighting in their underwear. lol
- twinklyJesus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Guess you never read the original stories then.
- WPFever, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I thought 300 was an attempt to copy Braveheart which they basically did, but they forgot to add a story to 300. I mean almost everything matched except they were warriors protecting their dignity instead of Scottish peasants after freedom.
- Firehed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Buried because you're too shallow to rate articles on the quality of their content and instead align them with nothing other than your opinion. Like that guy some time back that buried a story because it contained a word that was close to the name of a band he didn't like.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's an opinion piece, of course it's subjective.
- Firehed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3In other words, "I thrive off of gratuitous violence, plot be damned."
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yeah. Gay men would love it more than straight men.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Its all just his moronic opinions of movies. I am not going to watch primeveal because i have already seen lake placid.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Spiderman sucked. In fact all Marvel movies do. They are just milking the franchises for all they are worth because no one reads comics any more.
- TheProtested, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I'm sorry...but were you watching the same movie i was? those costumes were gay as *****...i mean there was a dude wearing a golden thong, pull your head out of your homophobic ass, there are plenty of reasons not to like this movie.
- Zarchon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I loved Wildhogs but then again I am over 50. I guess it is hard to relate for some who weren't there.
- spoonyinc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Buried as inaccurate, movie opinions are subjective according to the individuals view.
