The worst film is going to be some garbage low budget cliche flick that gains almost no popularity and is a financial flop. Now GI-Joe might be awful and a complete waste of a good opportunity, but it's got enough budget and popularity to at least be a mediocre film.
I'm just putting things into perspective. There's no way it will be as bad as my brothers version of Blair Witch 3 at Sundance Film Festival.

- leamanc, on 07/16/2009, -1/+7Don't underestimate the number of people who will see it on name recognition alone. I haven't been into G.I. Joe since 1983/84 when I read the comics and watched the cartoon. But still I thought for a minute, "Oh, cool, a G.I. Joe movie. I think I want to see that."

Wolverine (tolerable but pretty dumb - opening credits best part of movie), Terminator (the leaked Bale tape was the best part), Transformers 2 (We get two Jar Jar Binks-level transformers, about 10 humping/nut shot scenes, and a whole lot of retarded dialogue), and I'm guessing GI Joe.

Granted, nothing good is opening the same weekend, but with the other mindless summer movies (plus Funny People, which I'm hopeful for) still in theaters, it doesn't sound like the guaranteed money maker that everyone seems to be assuming it will be.

You can't really blame him for the writing...it was his first English language film, perhaps he just assumed it made slightly more sense than it did. Also, no, G.I. Joe was not directed by Bekmambetov.
