- raithetarkon, on 10/11/2007, -2/+156Christian Bale is one of the best and most dedicated actors in Hollywood today. His performances are always dynamic, he consistently reinvents his demeanor and appearance to suit his characters, and he is always humble. It's good to see him get props.
- PaulOwen, on 10/11/2007, -5/+126"He was ***** Batman"
I thought Robin did that. - dustblaaze, on 10/11/2007, -10/+121Christian Bale is the man. Along with Edward Norton, they're both the Pacino and De Niro of the new generation.

“Wow…Christian Bale doesn’t really do a British accent that well, does he?”
I immediately dumped her, of course, but it has to be said: when an actor manages to trick a significant portion of his fanbase into thinking that his natural accent is not really his natural accent, then he has truly accomplished something.

-hilarious :) - kungfumaniac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+69Hollywood actors are always gainign wight for roles like getting fat is some difficult thing.
I always thought it was impressive that Edward Norton went from jacked neo nazi in American History X.
But Bale going from American Psycho to The Machinist to Batman Begins was like a complete physical transformation.
Yeah, he is a bad ass. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+62All it took for me to think he's a badass was his performance in American Psycho. Equilibrium was icing on the cake.
- GSVNoFixedAbode, on 10/11/2007, -0/+45He did a very good job in The Prestige alongside Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine as well.
- goodoldharris, on 10/11/2007, -1/+41No mention of the child acting days of Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun? It's old, I know, but still a great movie.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+41Somebody has a mancrush.
- homerjs, on 10/11/2007, -4/+36Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head... but I heard a rumour that one time when he did this , by the time he got there he was already lying on the ground because Christian Bale had beat him to it ... wow
- mntalkase, on 10/11/2007, -15/+47"... no one can deny the sheer ass-tightening badassity of... "
Yes, Christian Bale is awesome... but c'mon now. - pronouncable, on 10/11/2007, -4/+30He was John Preston. Nuff said.
- RobotCitizen, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27Despite the undertone of unholy manlove for Bale, the author is correct. Bale rocks.
- ariez84, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25I only need one reason. He's Christian, *****, Bale
- sagien, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Yeah, but Bale wouldn't get dugg down like you.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18I nearly had that problem with Hugh Laurie in House. The conversation went thus:
"He was in BlackAdder"
"Don't be stupid, he's American"
*silence* - adolfojp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15It was a good movie. Very disturbing and depressing and entertaining.
- filmbandit, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18dugg down -- this article doesn't even make mention of empire of the sun -- where as even just being a child actor bale was absolutely brilliant.
- drlha, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17They guy "dumps his girlfriend" over her saying he can't do a good British accent, but then goes on to say he played a "Gruff American Magician". I assume he's talking about the Prestige here where his character was most definitely English.
- Kazbaeden, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14That's Cleric to you, punk.
- ColonelJessup, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I can't believe Brice prefers Van Patten's card over mine............
- viralVISUAL, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15And now I just HAVE to see this movie he lost all that weight for.
- cdharrison, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14Or how about "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" ... I seriously thought Leonardo DiCaprio was retarded when I saw that movie.
- AoiTakuma, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12He was also in swing kids which was a damn good movie. Going along with him being able to sound American, I thought he was an American until I saw Reign of Fire.
- PATSCRU, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13i looked at this, then left my computer, and all that i could hear in my mind where the words "ass tightening bad-assity" while i was driving real fast and not listening to my girlfriend. who the ***** wrote that?
- roflcawpter, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Bad acting? The guy did the best with what he was given.
- Scarfy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10He would certainly kick Superman's ass.
- Eliza101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9American Psycho? Equilibrium? The Machinist?
Have you seen any of those? - redlemon, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15what in the heavens do you mean!!! he's a god amongst men!
- TheProtested, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10....nevermind, im a moron
- hellotyler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9It's a great movie. Rent it.
- Escamotage, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Best comment on the thread.
- JaWright, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Edward Norton is the most versatile actor in Hollywood today, but Christian Bale is certainly working his way up.
- MikeDTGI, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Pictures (of your wife) or it didn't happen. :-)
(Damn I've been waiting a long time to get a chance to post that!) - dustblaaze, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13You can digg me down all you want, I don't care.. Two great actors who aren't getting the recognition just because they're catalog of movies isn't as deep. 20 - 30 years from now, they'll be looked at as the two transcendent actors of the new millennium. Dicaprio, Damon, and the rest of the new guys can't hold a candle to these two. Johnny Depp will be up there with them as well. Digg me down all you want, my opinion still stands.
- mrjeffery, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8He's from the Swansea/Port Talbot area in South Wales if anyones interested. Same part of the world Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta Jones are from. And Howard Marks. If anyone wants a slightly twisted look into Swansea life, check out the film "twin town".
- Akaji, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7You hear that whooshing sound above you? Yeah, that's the sound of a joke going straight over your head.
- Eliza101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7He was totally ***** badass in Newsies.
- whitenigger, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12It's even harder to convince friends about the site if you refer to it as "rad".
- poopforyou, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7He's so talented. Definitely one of the better actors of the current Hollywood generation.
- Aitese, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Born in Wales...not RAISED in Wales. He actually has a pretty posh English accent...so you're in fact right about the crumby cockney accent he tried in the Prestige...but for the wrong reasons.
- L4WL3RS34L, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10He's too badass for the English language, "sheer ass-tightening badassity" is just not enough.
- Epik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Pacino and De Niro are good too but personally I've enjoyed Bale and Norton's performances much more.
- KeepSwinging, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6He faught opression and led an uprising, an uprising of song and dance, but still an uprising.
Open the gates and sieze the day...... - weeFred, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Don't just stare at it sabrina, eat it!
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7To be honest Hugh Laurie's English accent sounds more fake than his American one (even though it isn't), he's just got that exact crumpets and tea accent Americans seem to love English people having in films
- reynish, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Dugg because he's welsh
- whiterussian, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8Agreed. I can't wait to see Rescue Dawn. He and Werner Herzog are a match made in heaven. Two artists completely devoted to their craft.
- ceris, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Says "Whitenigger"?!
- pronouncable, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6For a moment I thought you wrote "marked accurate" and was gonna digg your comment.
