Why 2008 Will Be An Awesome Year For Movies
firstshowing.net — This is a comprehensive list of what will make 2008 a truly memorable year for movies.
- 2183 diggs
- digg it
- HollywoodJoker, on 12/19/2007, -35/+2That's Incredible Eagle's Eye view into more than 21 movies to be released in the International Wonderland of Australia after Babylon A.D. for us Fanboys. Don't Choke on this list. Get Smart. Be Kind Rewind and read what i have written about the Forbidden Kingdom in the Box unless you had burn after reading this causing blindness and can't see in the Dark (k)night. I wanted to know where the wild things instead of watching all the Trailer Trash of the Happening.
- dweeb79, on 12/19/2007, -4/+3You can read about the test screening for "Where The Wild Things Are".

"Jonze has once again taken a “this shouldn’t work” concept and made a very good film from it. It might not be for everyone, but it will certainly leave an impact on those who check it out once it is released in 2008." - Rev0lver, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1Is it just me, or does everything you just spewed out not make any sense?
- Homoomo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2A lot of those movies sound like they are gonna suck. But I am looking forward to a few of them like "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man", and "Indiana Jones 4". But a sex and the city movie?! I don't think I'll be going to see that one.
- Elranzer, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2Richard Kelly's The Box: "A small wooden box arrives on the doorstep of a troubled married couple, who open it and become instantly wealthy. Little do they realize that opening the box also kills someone they do not know."
I'm pretty sure that's the plot of an episode of The Twilight Zone (or possibly Tales from the Darkside). In the episode's end, the mysterious man who gave the couple the box takes it back and promises to give it to someone *they* don't know.
Come on, Kelly, you can do much better than this. You WROTE Donny Darko, now you're doing movie adaptations of Twilight Zone episodes?- CannedMango, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3It was an episode of the Twilight Zone. The thing is, the entire episode is based on one last minute plot twist, which is not only known for this one, but is mentioned right in the description. Don't know how they're going to make an interesting feature film out of this concept.
- dweeb79, on 12/19/2007, -4/+3You can read about the test screening for "Where The Wild Things Are".
- kirb59y, on 12/19/2007, -6/+202I'm pretty sure they say this about every year...
- quomen, on 12/19/2007, -2/+34And what's with this list.. Pretty much lists every movie that's to be released. And I guarantee a majority of them will suck.
- rebolyte, on 12/19/2007, -0/+27Indeed, they do say this every year:
http://www.firstshowing.net/2006/08/02/why-2007-wi ... - snatchmstr, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3Yes they do, and most of them suck.
- Llanowar, on 12/19/2007, -2/+8Ok, the most conclusive fact that this list is not to be taken seriously... one of the listed movies is Sex and the City: The Movie.
...
I rest my case.- zdlr, on 12/21/2007, -0/+1just like they say this years big brother house mates are going to be crap
- MASTERPL, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3But this year is different! That will be $9.00 please.
- LordSkywalker, on 12/19/2007, -23/+7Because the writer's strike is forcing a bunch of crappy scripts to be fast-tracked to the big screen? And by awesome, you mean equally underwhelming?
- representDLV, on 12/19/2007, -0/+25The scripts of most movies coming out in 2008 were finished before the strike started.
- probrian, on 12/19/2007, -0/+10I hope that was a joke...?
- RobotBuddha, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Seriously. Not even counting the million backlogged scripts, having a really good story is almost sure to relegate your movie to the arthouse slums.
- bossm4n, on 12/19/2007, -2/+35If nothing else, it should be a great year for comic book based flicks--Dark Knight, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk (hopefully done right this time), Hellboy 2. Lots of other potentially nice popcorn flicks as well.
- xlar54, on 12/19/2007, -12/+4The thought of Hulk coming back to a theatre near me gives me the jeebies... That split screen crap they pulled in the first one hurt my head. Iron Man sounds like they have run out of heros...whats next, AquaMan? Batman? Give it a rest already.
- tduff, on 12/19/2007, -6/+2Iron man is awesome. Shut up.
- Gizza, on 12/19/2007, -2/+17Batman? No way, that'll never work.
- optimo, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1The DC movies have been winning versus Marvel
- falstaff, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2/sarcasm?
- NichowA, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Every year has a ton of comic book films released. If the new ones are of the same quality that Spiderman 3, Ghost Rider and Fantastic Four: Silver surfer were, I doubt it will be a "great year for comic book based flicks" at all.
- Dylson, on 12/19/2007, -8/+34Jurassic Park 4.
- Hoogs, on 12/19/2007, -0/+6Uhh...that wasn't on the list? Although I wish it was.
- sporg, on 12/19/2007, -9/+6It will be a great year for movies because they will all be free via bit torrent just like last year. By the way folks dont bother to download " I am legend" I downloaded the cam version just to preview it and its not worth even that much effort. The first 5 minutes of the movie is a mustang commercial and it goes downhill from there.
- bffoley, on 12/19/2007, -7/+3Here's another summary of IAL:
*quiet for a few minutes*
*BAM*
*quiet for a few more minutes*
*BANG*
*quiet for 5 seconds*
*CRASH*
Horror in movies is dead and now they're pissing on its corpse
- bffoley, on 12/19/2007, -7/+3Here's another summary of IAL:
- 1800collect, on 12/19/2007, -7/+1Sex & the City!!!!
- Kurisuku, on 12/19/2007, -21/+7I don't see a single movie on that list I would willingly plop down 13 dollars to go view.
Granted I haven't been to a movie theater since 1997 for that same reason. Too expensive.- dagamer34, on 12/19/2007, -5/+16Perhaps you should find a cheaper movie theater.
- StealthMonkey, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Perhaps, but prices are starting to get crazy. It seems like every time I go, it is $0.25 more.
It's getting to the point where I can buy a copy for the same price as two movie tickets... and watching on my DLP with 5.1 surround isn't too bad compared to the noisy theater.- gnslngr1919, on 12/19/2007, -3/+1Nothing compares to the big screen. I don't care how big your tv is, It's not as big as a theater.
- Spamcan, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4Screen size isn't everything. Once you factor in the obnoxiousness of other people in the theater, combined with consistently rising prices and uncomfortable seats, not to mention any number of projection and environmental issues that the audience has no control over a decent home projection setup offers an unbeatable experience IMO.
- gnslngr1919, on 12/19/2007, -3/+1Nothing compares to the big screen. I don't care how big your tv is, It's not as big as a theater.
- StealthMonkey, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3Perhaps, but prices are starting to get crazy. It seems like every time I go, it is $0.25 more.
- quigles3000, on 12/19/2007, -1/+23And when will those crazy teens stop riding their skateboards and walking all over my lawn? Damn kids!
- Kurisuku, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4I really wish they wouldn't walk on my lawn, it's obnoxious. It takes a lot of time to get that grass healthy and then they flatten it down with their big floppy chuck taylors.
- CWal37, on 12/19/2007, -2/+4It's still only $5 at our local movie theater. Only the IMAX costs more.
- teh_techie, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2Your local movie theatre must not be a place where you "truly experience" the film then... for only $5.00...
- RobotBuddha, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3It might be worth seeing if you have any small indi or art theaters around. They're usually cheaper, have a better proportion of quality to crap movies, and a pleasant lack of teenagers and screaming babies. The only downside is that even typing this kind of thing will make you feel like a pretentious movie snob.
- scaaven2, on 12/19/2007, -8/+1I'm not sure it's $13 anywhere, except maybe Europe where the $ has suffered
- Sarzec, on 12/19/2007, -2/+2ya costs about 14 bucks to see a movie alone (20 if I have a couple of beers...and I always do)
- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2beers at a movie theatre? WTF?
When do we get this deal? - sinrtb, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Theres a few theaters in the Portland metro area that serve beer.
- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2beers at a movie theatre? WTF?
- Sarzec, on 12/19/2007, -2/+2ya costs about 14 bucks to see a movie alone (20 if I have a couple of beers...and I always do)
- DeviantDragon, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2Matinee showings. They are your friends.
- acdcfanbill, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3A remake of Scanners just makes me want to, well, kill someone with my brain.
- fnaqzna, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1Netflix FTW.
- dagamer34, on 12/19/2007, -5/+16Perhaps you should find a cheaper movie theater.
- Adrian540, on 12/19/2007, -13/+139Lacks harold and kumar 2.
- tbenathan, on 12/19/2007, -0/+10I was looking for that on this list, too.
- arunforce, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4Hey, FirstShowing wouldn't do that...
- noeljohnhoward, on 12/19/2007, -10/+3My friends saw it and said it sucked, soooooo. yeah
- nymphetamine, on 12/19/2007, -2/+13Your friends suck.
- phazon88, on 12/19/2007, -9/+7Harold and Kumar? You've got to be ***** kidding me.
- DeadRepubs, on 12/19/2007, -3/+7Whats the matter righty? afraid of the multicultural boogeyman?
- sumGIRL, on 12/19/2007, -1/+0Let me guess, you can say that because some of your BEST friends are black? Douchenozzle.
- DeadRepubs, on 12/19/2007, -3/+7Whats the matter righty? afraid of the multicultural boogeyman?
- michaelchaos, on 12/19/2007, -7/+25Yeah, because films based on comic books are always of high caliber!
- JAPPO312, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1I'm looking forward to the Dragon Ball movie which comes out in August 15 2008
Even if it sucks it will be cool to finally see it - Homoomo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Actually they look like they are gonna get a lot better. Iron Man and the new Hulk movie don't look like they will be as disappointing as the Fantastic 4 movies, the Spider Man movies, or the 1st Hulk movie.
- sobe86, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1I don't understand how you can tell...
- JAPPO312, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1I'm looking forward to the Dragon Ball movie which comes out in August 15 2008
- windandstorm, on 12/19/2007, -1/+14Valkyrie prepared.
- ham3cheese, on 12/19/2007, -1/+0STARCRAFT 2!
yes.- tehseanzor, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2actually that's from the original Starcraft
- BrokenVisage, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Can't wait for Valkyrie
- barnett25, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3I hate liking Tom Cruise movies.
- ImWatchingYou, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1No you don't, you just hate it when you don't look perfect to other people.
- barnett25, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Err... What?
- ImWatchingYou, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1No you don't, you just hate it when you don't look perfect to other people.

- ham3cheese, on 12/19/2007, -1/+0STARCRAFT 2!
- dagamer34, on 12/19/2007, -7/+2Already dead.

- bagboyrebel, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5the reply button is really a wonderful invention.

- treas, on 12/19/2007, -4/+40***** yes, one of my favorite books from my childhood: Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions (strange book to define my childhood, i know) is being made into a movie.
that made my day after failing my last final.- slothlovechunk, on 12/19/2007, -3/+26Your childhood?
That was published like 4 years ago. wtf?- scaaven2, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1dugg up
- theholyraptor, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2it's possible, most high schools have finals, so he could be finishing the first semester of his high school career, 4 years ago, that puts him at 10 or even 9 if he is the youngest in his class if 4 years ago is when the book came out.
Underage b&?- treas, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4I wanted to say "middle school" since that's when i read it, but it sounded strange so I went with childhood.
I'm a first semester freshman in college.
- treas, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4I wanted to say "middle school" since that's when i read it, but it sounded strange so I went with childhood.
- DeviantDragon, on 12/19/2007, -0/+9Anybody else reminded of that Steve Martin and Queen Latifah movie?
- amgamer23, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3*raises hand* Sadly...
- sevenalive, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2I am looking forward to that movie too.
- thirty6chambers, on 12/19/2007, -0/+0If you want to see it now then rent "The Last Casino". It's based on the same events and the movie was pretty decent.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419909/- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I thought that trailer was familiar, I kept thinking i'd seen it already out somewhere, but thats because i saw "The Last Casino"
It actually is a good movie too
- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I thought that trailer was familiar, I kept thinking i'd seen it already out somewhere, but thats because i saw "The Last Casino"
- Hoogs, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Get off Digg and go study!
- davewashere, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Hey Doc Brown, I think it's time for you to go back to the future.
- slothlovechunk, on 12/19/2007, -3/+26Your childhood?
- lithiumsystems, on 12/19/2007, -7/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- Vesty, on 12/19/2007, -1/+9I'm looking forward to Adventureland mainly because it was filmed where I work in the summer (Kennywood) and I'm curious to see how it looks in the movie.
- deuceswilde, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4The Dark Knight was filmed in Chicago's financial district, where I interned over the summer, it's funny to watch the trailer and think "Wow, the Joker looks... hey I know that Starbucks"
- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3"It looks like every other Starbucks in the world"
- insllvn, on 12/19/2007, -0/+8"And across the street from that Starbucks, in the exact same building as that Starbucks, was a Starbucks. At first I thought the sun was playing tricks on my eyes. But, no. There was a Starbucks across from a Starbucks. And that, my friends, is the end of the universe. People have said to me, 'how do you know?' And I say, 'go there. Stand between those two Starbucks and look at your watch. Time stands still.' And if you turn this way, and look at just this Starbucks, immediately you think, 'You know, There cannot possibly be a Starbucks behind me. Nobody would have been that stupid, to have built a Starbucks across from a Starbucks. And if there was a just and loving God, he wouldn't allow that kind of ***** to go down.' So you turn slowly, thinking, 'well, I'll see a Gap, or a Denny's, maybe even a Mobil Station... BUT THERE'S A STARBUCKS!'"

- incubusnb, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3"It looks like every other Starbucks in the world"
- Neuski, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2I love me some Kennywood.
- DeucesWild, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I'm looking forward to this one too. I used to work attractions (rides, shows) in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
- deuceswilde, on 12/19/2007, -0/+4The Dark Knight was filmed in Chicago's financial district, where I interned over the summer, it's funny to watch the trailer and think "Wow, the Joker looks... hey I know that Starbucks"
- JenadaeXX, on 12/19/2007, -1/+17The Incredible Hulk actually looks promising compared to the last stab at it. Louis Leterrier (The Transporter, Unleashed) directing it with Edward Norton as Bruce Banner... dare i ask how it could go wrong? (knocks on wood)
- quigles3000, on 12/19/2007, -2/+7Don't really know how much to take from this list, since the very first film shown looks terrible--that being "21", adapted from a great book with a great premise that unfortunately looks like it's been turned to crap (based on the trailer, anyway).
Also listed is the next Mummy film (directed by Rob Cohen, from "The Fast and the Furious" and "xXx") and M. Night's next flick, which anybody who knows anything about it would tell you is guaranteed to suck more than any other film he's done (the script was leaked online).
Me thinks this list should either be condensed, or referred to as just an overall round-up.
That said... who isn't excited for The Dark Knight, Choke, Iron Man, Cloverfield, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Hellboy II, Be Kind Rewind, and a ***** of others!? It certainly DOES look like an awesome year for movies!- CompIsMyRx, on 12/19/2007, -0/+5Actually, Jumper looks interesting. Samuel L Jackson means enjoyable watching.
- rosullivan, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1CHOKE... That one's been a long time in the making, and I hope Sam Rockwell does the main character justice. If Choke performs well at the box office, perhaps Chuck Palahniuk's SURVIVOR can be filmed and released as well... which is an EXCELLENT ***** novel!
- Intenseboredom, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I just hope they don't water it down for mass consumption.
Don't penalize those who have taken the time to read the book...
- Intenseboredom, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I just hope they don't water it down for mass consumption.
- 0260, on 12/19/2007, -1/+11x-files!
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2I had no idea they were going to take another stab at it. I used to watch X-Files off and on when I was younger and it was so hard to follow.
- joebobmcslob, on 12/19/2007, -0/+0Wait for DVD...
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2I had no idea they were going to take another stab at it. I used to watch X-Files off and on when I was younger and it was so hard to follow.
- TitanX13, on 12/19/2007, -5/+2only 8 good movies on that list
- reelmkonol, on 12/19/2007, -5/+0Care to name them? How were they, when you saw them?
- DarkTranquility, on 12/19/2007, -4/+48X-FILES 2???
um....holy ***** *****?!?!!!- matts009, on 12/19/2007, -1/+6What!! If this is true, then I will need to buy a pack of 'Oops I crapped my pants.'
- thatsmyaibo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+7Yep. Duchovney was talking about this a few months ago. He was filming it before Californication's 2nd season...I can't wait for this.
- phazon88, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4I hope Gillian looks as sexy as she did during the series.
- orlyfactor, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1rawr!
- BrokenVisage, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3Old news, get with the program
- Bartboy919, on 12/19/2007, -1/+85coincidently, 2009 is going to suck ass due to this writers strike.
- xlar54, on 12/19/2007, -2/+9Is there no one else who is capable of writing a screenplay?
- insllvn, on 12/19/2007, -0/+7You don't really get unions do you?
- markwilcox, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Naw, Avatar will rock 2009.
- chrismgtis, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4It's not like the current writers are any good. I mean come on. 98% of movies are complete trash.
- zigid, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1no, it's the producers that butcher scripts and force rewrites to homogenize films that are responsible for that. i bet if writers had more control, we would all be pleasantly surprised at what they could do.
- joebobmcslob, on 12/19/2007, -0/+0I always thought it was the box office status quo that made movies suck?
- zigid, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1no, it's the producers that butcher scripts and force rewrites to homogenize films that are responsible for that. i bet if writers had more control, we would all be pleasantly surprised at what they could do.
- Moskie, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Fear the onslaught of "reality" movies.
*shudder*
- xlar54, on 12/19/2007, -2/+9Is there no one else who is capable of writing a screenplay?
- whatthefu, on 12/19/2007, -2/+51The Dark Knight should be awesome. How can you ***** up a movie with the Joker? Then again I said the same thing about Spider-man 3 and Venom.
- raej, on 12/19/2007, -1/+12but you've got to admit, the joker on this one is really different from the other movies/series. and that's a good thing, me thinks.
- Tyrghast, on 12/19/2007, -3/+1the first joker was ***** up. jack nicholson played himself instead of the joker, and the joker is supposed to be skinny and hyperactive, again jack just didn't fit the character
- Zzone, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2There were lots of good ways to ***** up a film with venom.
Bad Cgi, bad plot, Topher Grace, etc. etc. etc.- ogremidget, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1How about Peter Parker acting like a wanna-be cool evil wearing black clothing dork.
- joebobmcslob, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I will pay to see this in theaters. I enjoyed the different take on the Batman Begins movie. Can't wait to see the new twist on my childhood memories!
- rosullivan, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3After watching the new trailer for TDK repeatedly, I have a feeling Heath Ledger is going to OWN that role after it is released. Everything points to "FIVE STAR" on TDK... I'm beyond hyper to see it next year!
- twrife, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Thanks, I was looking for a list like this.
- identifiedlogo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+7hell yeah, Edward Norton as the incredible Hulk!!!
- Rijnzael, on 12/19/2007, -4/+13No Harold and Kumar. This list sucks.
- lacronicus, on 12/19/2007, -0/+19I'm actually rather excited; a new Bond, new batman, new indy, new rambo, and quite a few more? should be an exciting year.

- zeeeg, on 12/19/2007, -5/+12007 was the best year in a while. New, excellent movies from most of my favorite directors: Tarantino, Coen Brothers, P.T. Anderson, Wes Anderson, David Fincher, and more! 2008 can't compare to that for me.
- skaughtm, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1america, ***** yeah.
- WraithIX, on 12/19/2007, -2/+1Has anyone else seen the poster for Kung Fu Panda? The tagline is "Prepare for Awesomeness." It looks like it could be the greatest movie ever.
- KMartSheriff, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2You need to put "/sarcasm" after that.
- zero, on 12/19/2007, -2/+6I rarely go to the movies but Kevin Smith and Seth Rogan, I'm there!
- gumster, on 12/19/2007, -2/+6Clearly the author of this article is the same guy who gives 4-star reviews of all the Jean Claude Van Damme movies. Although I guess it's not much of a stretch to say that the movies of 2008 will be even better than the movies of 2007.
- xyzunit, on 12/19/2007, -2/+15I'll be ***** pissed if Be Kind Rewind isn't funny
- mds76, on 12/19/2007, -4/+5Almost had me .. until I saw the author had listed the upcoming Rambo film.
Wow. Glass half-full kind of guy, don't ya think? - ThankTheCheese, on 12/19/2007, -3/+14Get Smart looks awesome

- retrodavid, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1No, Johnny English was a British Get Smart. Know your history.
- Roger, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Meh, Steve Carell is overrated.

- shadowblade989, on 12/19/2007, -0/+6Jumper looks like it could be cool. Or terrible. I saw a trailer for it last time I was at a movie.
- wearenotsickmen, on 12/19/2007, -1/+1A couple of weeks back they were filming for it here in Ann Arbor. I think that's where the main character discover his power. The river scene is definitely the Huron river. My friend who works in a restaurant got to meet Hayden Christensen while he was here shooting.
- Tyrghast, on 12/19/2007, -3/+1OMG no YOU'RE one SO cares COOL you I freaging WANT moron TO please BE kill YOUR yourself BEST douche FRIEND

- pikpikcarrotmon, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2Keanu barada nikto?
- baramunchies, on 12/19/2007, -5/+32008 will be horrible, more product placement than ever due low dvd sales. Just like Ford in "I am Legend" and GM in "Transformers". Seems like movies will get scripted around the product in future. Just like a 90 minute advertise.
- gnslngr1919, on 12/19/2007, -0/+7I don't care if the hero drives a car with a name on it. As long as the movie is good it can have a little Coke bug on the bottom right of the screen for all I care.
- theholyraptor, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5movies have been doing that increasingly for quite a while. Transformers was obvious because some of the characters turn into the cars. Most every movie that doesn't require different makes of cars for the script all feature one brand of car. Ever notice how every computer is an Apple in movies unless it's some weird wannabe hacker movie in which case it's some weird monstrosity? At least I am Legend wasn't as bad as Will Smith in I, Robot with the whole Converse shoe sponsorship.
- Crosshare, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2I hate the Apple placement in every goddamn computer movie. That's one reason I actually liked Swordfish, a bank's server farm would be Dell, or Sun, not Apple.
- MNEVENFLOW, on 12/19/2007, -0/+10I wish people would quit complaining about product placement. It's been around FOREVER and will be here as long as we have a free market society. Do you really think it's a coincidence that Micheal J Fox asked for a Diet Tab in Back to the Future and couldn't get it, but could get a Pepsi? Or that E.T. liked Reese's Pieces and not M&Ms instead? Or that Fred Savage just happened to be playing a Nintendo game in "The Wizard"? GET OVER IT!
- Zzone, on 12/19/2007, -0/+2As long as the script is tight I have no problem with product placement in order to help finance the films.
- Dumbledorito, on 12/19/2007, -1/+4You can save yourself the trouble of seeing "The Box" by watching the revival-era "Twlight Zone" episode, "Button, Button":

- Kronikle, on 12/19/2007, -3/+4When does Sin City 2 come out?

- jmpeagle, on 12/19/2007, -3/+2http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0859163/
why?- Crosshare, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1I swear some people just can't enjoy a good popcorn movie. As long as this one is going to be better than the Scorpion King.
- amirjpl, on 12/19/2007, -6/+12007 sucked (except I am legend) compared to 2008. All those movies are the ones I have been waiting for. I am sick of all the PG13 slapstick ***** that keep popping out. Finally people are making real *****. Go 2008.
- TheGrizah, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3So late in the year, did you forget that 300 came out this year, besides Sin City, it was one of the most well done Comic to Film adaptations ever.
And the Bourne Ultimatum was also great, simply one of the best trilogies considering, it actually got better as it progressed.
I am Legend was pretty damn awesome though, Will Smith, needs to get some recognition for his talent as an actor from some sort of awards show.- schoate09, on 12/19/2007, -2/+2No,
Bourne Identity = Awesome
Bourne Supremacy = Sucked
Bourne Ultimatum = the best of the 3
- schoate09, on 12/19/2007, -2/+2No,
- thirty6chambers, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Go see No Country For Old Men and then try and tell me that 2007 sucked. It is one of, if not, THE BEST Coen brothers films.
- TheGrizah, on 12/19/2007, -1/+3So late in the year, did you forget that 300 came out this year, besides Sin City, it was one of the most well done Comic to Film adaptations ever.
- poorman04, on 12/19/2007, -4/+18How the ***** did "Sex and the City" make it on to this list? crappy TV show = crappy movie... unless they show a lot of *****, and I mean a lot. Than it might be worth seeing 5 weeks after it came out. So no one will be in the theater.
- optimo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3it may be terrible, but the theaters will be packed
gruesome truth- fisherdr, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Ain't that the truth. It may not belong on a list for "awesome" movies unless you're talking about the effect on the studio's bank account.
- r00tus3r, on 12/19/2007, -1/+2It's actually a pretty good show, and gives you a lot of insight into how females think. I remember I was over at a female's friend's house watching this late a few nights and I have to admit, it's not as bad as you would think. Good dialogue, intelligent voice over and interesting story lines. Don't knock it just because it's a "chick show".
- optimo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+3it may be terrible, but the theaters will be packed
- thatsmyaibo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+42 words...Bat Man....wait a sec...

- sigafoo, on 12/19/2007, -0/+7Juno... i don't care if it's not "2008" it's all i want to see
- loopyloopy, on 12/19/2007, -1/+7just like every other year lately. more sequels, more remakes, more books to movies.
the best movies are often the ones we dont look forward to.- Grandforks85, on 12/19/2007, -0/+1Well said, it's the ones noone is mentioning that will end up being the best I'll bet. How about we all wait and see?!?!
- Ace0fClub5, on 12/19/2007, -0/+0city of ember, read the script + book, both awesome. Jumper, read script, good. Adventureland, read script, freakin funny. The green effect, now called the happening, read script, pretty freakin sweet with ppl killing themselves for no apparent reason.
