- bilangew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2NO, this is *NOT* old.
The first submission 4 months-ago-or-so didn't have sounds in the movie, only shutter sounds.
This (actual) video has sounds and seems to be the "finished" product. Plus, it won some awards, something that the 4 months old link didn't have
To the people screaming "old old", maybe it is for you, but maybe its new for someone else.
Now go get some fresh air. - itchyfeet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would just like to add that perhaps it's time to start reporting people who cry "dupe" as dupes. ;)
- itchyfeet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oxygen (as in the gas) is old. Oxygen hasn't been dugg ONCE on this site. I demand a refund.
This film was beautiful. It was my first time. Thank you for digging it, whoever did. My internet connection is capable of withstanding the extra onslaught of bits from having it come up TWICE when I do a search for it on digg. I think we all need to calm down about the dupe thing, eh? - spooksie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah but... The Canon 20d doesnt have video functionality. That means that every frame was taken with normal pictures in burst. Can you understand why its good now.
- inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Excellent work. Short films are always best when they're like a poem, just trying to catch a mood or a moment. This worked out nicely.

- green1152, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the story behind it. Good short film, and it deserves some awards.
- bramkok, on 07/02/2009, -0/+0Although it maybe has been posted before here i really really like it. Too bad i only have a 300k version. :(.
- munkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its 5fps, only could shoot for 12 seconds at a time due to the 20D's buffer rate, and got about 650 images on a 1GB CF card. here is a link to an artice about it (its a screenshot)

- mathew_bug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If it gets digged is because it's not old for everyone. Keep that in mind.
Cool short by the way, nice music. - Turtle502, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting concept film, the producer obviously had a lot of patience...and certain was able to execute on a vision...an idea.
Regarding all the dupe stuff, well...we know Digg is a good theory but the execution sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. - aceuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Tim Burton's Corpse Bride was also 'filmed' using Canon digital cameras too.

- bramkok, on 07/02/2009, -0/+0http://homepage.mac.com/chriss/viola/sadsong.mov
Not entirely like this but is a video created with a Nikon Coolpix 775 digicam that has only 30 sec videoclips. And it's made by the man who's singing. Fredo Viola.
http://www.aviola.com/the_sad_song.html - PseudoCyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Neat.
Though technically nothing new. Stop motion animation is essentially the same and film itself is nothing other than 24 still frames a second.
What's clever is the work that would have gone into it, the amount of batteries it would have taken alone is quite an achievement ;-)"
Exactly. It's nice work, but nothing revolutionary. Nevertheless, digg. - zlibpt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The cool part are the fake boobs :D
- GizmoMonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think this is very Digg worthy. I didn't see it the first time around and wouldn't have thought to search for such a thing. I have a Canon 20D and this really inspires me to do something like this with my children.
I agree with ojek, stop whining and start posting some of YOUR diggs and let us see what you can come up with. I don't normally read the comments because all they are are people bitching about being "old", "been dugg before" or "lame" and most of these people whining don't even post.
Patryk, this is a rare find for me. Thank you! - Udon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey that's cool! Maybe Kevin and Alex will feature this again on Diggnation...
- hiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Clever piece of work, though a bit hard to watch due to the jerkiness. Still, well worth seeing.
- Gambit-gyouza4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Sometimes cool things like this needs to be dugg twice. - cactusnic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool. Dupe, old, who cares it is cool.
- Jarrod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Half the comments on here are people screaming dupe!
The digg voting system should take care of duplicates if the stories are enough of a repeat. Obviously enough people thought this story was worthy of a digg, so it was new to many people and they'd never seen it before. Should stories never ever be repeated on digg? Do you expect someone to be so without a life that they must check digg every five minutes in fear that they might miss a story which will NEVER be allowed to manifest itself on digg's front page again? - rubin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i cant seem to view it with my plugin configuration :(
- chiklit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I tried doing that with my digital camera a while back in an effort to get cheap high-def video unfortunately since my camera doesn't have manual focus and it's burst mode doesn't do much I ended up with an only slightly in focus HD film shot at .33fps.
As for all these comments complaining about it being old, there's really no purpose to these comments, they're not doing anybody any good. If you think it's a dupe then report it as such and then if you want post a link to the original, don't just say 'dupe' that's annoying and redundant if you've already reported. Same thing with saying it's old, if you think it is then report it as 'old news' that's why it's there. Instead of cluttering up the comment space with useless comments about it that may not even be relevant since like bilangew said while it may be old to you it may not be for someone else. - Hassassin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First time I saw it, for all you dupe screaming freaks... I digg it.
- deadkenny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Neat.
Though technically nothing new. Stop motion animation is essentially the same and film itself is nothing other than 24 still frames a second.
What's clever is the work that would have gone into it, the amount of batteries it would have taken alone is quite an achievement ;-) - AmZa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never called out a dupe before..but this one is pathetic. The original story had 1000+ diggs:
http://digg.com/links/Short_film_shot_with_regular_Canon_EOS_20D_SLR_cameral - AmZa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sorry,
http://digg.com/links/Short_film_shot_with_regular_Canon_EOS_20D_SLR_camera - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Pretty good (I missed it the first time so ***** you guys screaming 'old')
Interesting story, if this was all taken in single shots/burst shots then there should be a VERY high resolution version around somewhere, shouldn't there? Is it available anywhere?
The credits were pretty cute too. - ojek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1So ***** what if it's old? Huh!?
Don't digg if you don't like it. Simple. Stop bitching.
Digg is not a news site (click "about digg" on top), so not everything posted has to be new. How old the material is is irrelevant. I don't care if it's a dupe either. Don't digg. - Reliant, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0So ***** what if it's old? Huh!?
The idea is to submit NEW stories. - nannerla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0ok every1 shutup sayin old who cares the 1st had no sound this does and this thing is so good its worth it
- RabidFurby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0No. Saw it.
Report.... - Namingishard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Like 4months back wasn't it?
- jakehathaway, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0old news

- dyslexicsUNTIED, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0very old news
- Inzoy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0this is OLD! its has also been featured in diggnation on episode 8 (that was in august..)
- ewingsquadron, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0This was already on diggnation once!
