- deralte, on 11/13/2008, -5/+35actually none, they all actors
- OSXpert, on 11/13/2008, -0/+28FTA: "Although Connery usually takes the lead, Roger Moore’s Bond is really not that far behind him, and was even Ian Fleming’s favorite."
Ian Fleming died in 1964, years before Moore ever was Bond...
He originally wanted David Niven to play Bond, and failing that, he did suggest Moore after enjoying his performance in "The Saint." But to say Fleming preferred Moore's Bond over Connery's is stretching it. - Hodor, on 11/12/2008, -2/+19they all are. each one fit a certain epoch.
- poidh, on 11/13/2008, -0/+13... is the correct answer, Mish Moneypenny.
- nickceleb, on 11/13/2008, -1/+12Spelled that wrong buddy.
- gcnaddict, on 11/13/2008, -1/+12For those saying OMG QoS ISNT OUT YET LOL?
The original release date internationally was Nov. 7. This included the US.
However, the wonderful studio gods decided to shift it back a week for Europe and shift it forward a week for the US, etc.
You'd be correct in your assumption that this makes absolutely no sense. - vinceislegend, on 11/13/2008, -2/+12Evidently it's Austin Powers.
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 11/13/2008, -0/+10Connery: The Suave, Womanizer Bond
Lazenby: The Who? Bond
Moore: The Comedy Bond
Dalton: The Suck Ass Bond
Brosnan: The Action Bond
Craig: The Real Bond
I still think Connery was the best, not just because he was first, he just made it look SO smooth. - Millsee, on 11/13/2008, -0/+9You forgot the /sarcasm

- nowhereelse, on 11/13/2008, -1/+7I was never a fan of Bond films until the latest franchise came along. The Bourne-inspired Bond played by Daniel Craig is the best yet and truest to the Ian Fleming character. The never-break-a- sweat Bond, exemplified by Moore and Brosnan was funny but not thrilling. Connery is only rated so highly because he was the first 'proper' Bond but, if we're objective, he pales next to Craig who brings out the less-than-perfect cruel bastard excellently. (By the way, this is also helped by Judi Dench's 'M'). No doubt, I'm seeing all this through contemporary eyes and the current Bond is a reflection of modern ideas but I still think this is the best effort yet to be faithful to the Fleming character.
- Stettenbauer, on 11/13/2008, -0/+5Connery,but Craig is a close second.
- angesbiz, on 11/13/2008, -0/+5Sean Connery certainly did it for me!
- AtraNoxVII, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4Sean Connery of course but Daniel Craig a close 2nd.
- Darren07, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4The real Bond does what a real spy does, remain unknown for ever.
- strada, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4How about both? Clive Owen would have been a better choice in my opinion..
- threon, on 11/13/2008, -2/+6Agent Cody Banks
- BlaqReaper, on 11/13/2008, -2/+6What's more important? Hair color or actually being British? Take your pick.
- jedinate, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4As much I I like Connery, being a child of the 80's means I picture Roger Moore in my head, when someone says the name Bond.
- SuperVepr308, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3Connery was bad ass. He was the only one that could get laid AND win a gun fight at the same time.
- SuperVepr308, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3I have to go with Moore. Live and Let Die is my favorite Bond flick. He just seems like Bond to me being more intelligent and less brutal.
- DaleoftheUK, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3I miss the gadgets :(
- RaulMuadDib, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3Bourne is Bond++
- orangepride, on 11/13/2008, -3/+5AREC BARRWIN!!!!!
- jpjandrade, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Besides, is there anyone who thinks, after viewing the Moore movies today, that he's the best Bond? His movies are embarassing silly to watch, and people who regard him as a good Bond do so only for nostalgic reasons.
- greatgatsbyII, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Do I make you shake or stir baby? YEAH!
- TinTin42, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2he has to win, just for the fact he had the haymaker from hell. When his arm went back there is no martial art on this planet that could dodge that one!
- Millsee, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Connery. Then Moore. Then dare I say Brosnan?
Fave has to be Diamonds are Forever though... so camp!
"Yes, I'd like to stay up and talk all night 007, but it's late, I'm tired, and there's still so much to do" - connieLingus, on 11/13/2008, -1/+3i could tell you, but then i would have to ki...oh ***** nevermind.
- DemDude, on 11/13/2008, -4/+6Quantum Of Solace isn't out in the US yet?
It is in europe, and I'd advise you to watch it if you liked Casino Royale, my friends and me all enjoyed it. It's much more action-packed than CR, but it's still a great sequel to a great movie =) - cJw314, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2You're right; they wouldn't even NEED a weapon.
- FastZ, on 11/13/2008, -1/+3Will the real James Bond please stand up?
- RaulMuadDib, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Bond, James Bond (in eerie Walken Voice)
- vinigrette, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Connery's great... but Craig brings an imperfect element to the Bond character - he wins by brains in addition to brawn, and he does get smashed up and bloodied in the course of duty.
Plus.. he doesn't have that snarky suave look like Brosnan. He's sexy (I'm a girl, but I c'mon, guys, he's an attractive man), but not in a conventional "hunk" way. - kitsua, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Buried for yet more Bond-Spam.
- roctimo, on 11/13/2008, -1/+3He looked like what Bond should look like. Even if he wasn't necessarily the best actor of of the bunch, he held his own and had the look for it.
- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2I used to think the same as a kid, but then once I got older it all came into focus.
- cJw314, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Clive Owen is a 'poor man' replacement for Bond, imo. Why not color Daniel Craig's hair a touch?
- elijahsnw, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Yeah, apart from that pigeon toed turn and shoot on the bond intro....
- kocurejd, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2No, he does not look like what Bond should look like. Bond was never meant to be the pretty-boy exemplified by Brosnan. That was never Ian Fleming's idea of James Bond. Also, I distinctly remember Brosnan cruising around in a BMW for one of the movies. A BMW? Seriously? Give me an Aston Martin or get the ***** out.
- shipwreck58, on 11/14/2008, -0/+1My order is like this
Connery
Craig
Brosnan
Lazenby
Dalton
Moore
Hate Roger Moore. Regardless of the times, James Bond doesnt wear freaking leisure suits. Moore made me think Bond was gay! And he will pay for that . . oh yes he will pay :) - YouAreDead, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1ive already seen it here
why hasnt it been released in US yte? - ih2000, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1"Many real-life personalities who were involved in espionage have been cited as models for the character by some news reports. Most notably was William Stephenson, who was a Canadian spymaster, best known by his code name, Intrepid. Stephenson was the senior representative of British Intelligence for the entire western hemisphere during World War II. Regarding him, Ian Fleming wrote in The Times, October 21, 1962:
'James Bond is a highly romanticized version of a true spy. The real thing is... William Stephenson' "
From wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inspirations_for_Jame ... - Elranzer, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Blond Bond is the best Bond.
- dirkniblick, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1The BOOK Bond was the BEST James Bond. Craig's performance in Casino Royale was a close follow up but the rest of them, even Connery, couldn't touch the cold, real Bond Fleming wrote about in his books. When I started reading the books, I decided to watch the "movie" afterwards to compare. They were so bad compared to the books, I barely got to the middle of Moonraker before I shut it off and stopped watching the movies.
