- dylio, on 08/20/2008, -4/+83Who will watch the Watchmen for 3 hours?
Me.
Who will watch the Watchmen for as long as it needs to be in order to be true to the comics?
Me. - bullioncube, on 08/20/2008, -1/+44I will watch a Watchmen ***** opera if that's what it takes.
- Shadoblak, on 08/20/2008, -3/+38I'll take eight!
[/Zoidberg] - Tyrghast, on 08/20/2008, -0/+28Who watches the Watchmen?
I do. Three hours at a time. - radda, on 08/20/2008, -1/+27Where have you been for the past five years? That type of release schedule is standard.
- colasrtney, on 08/20/2008, -0/+252 extra hours of the Dr.Manhattan hanging out on Mars.
- DonWigler, on 08/20/2008, -1/+24Am I the only one who wishes they had done a high quality 12 part 12 hour miniseries?
- yaveznodo, on 08/20/2008, -0/+18Alan Moore is spinning in his beard!
- scheibs14, on 08/20/2008, -1/+19Just started reading this a couple days ago, about half way through now and it's frickin AMAZING
- kinseyincanada, on 08/20/2008, -0/+18have you not purchased a Lord of the Rings dvd........
- Ghostalker, on 08/20/2008, -0/+16Good. The way movie prices keep rising, the longer the better. At least I'll get my money's worth.
- SoopaflySAM, on 08/20/2008, -4/+20woop woop woop woop
- Lucifugerising, on 08/20/2008, -0/+15Black Freighter is gonna be tied into the story on the DVD!
I'm loving everything about this more and more. - scheibs14, on 08/20/2008, -0/+13I was probably pooping my pants.
p.s. I'm 22 for the record - Meekus, on 08/19/2008, -8/+19Wait a moment - a SECOND DVD release? IE - a version released after a first version? What about all the fans who purchased that first version only to realize a more complete version was to come later on?
I do hope that both "versions" are released at the same time and they make it clear that one has more content than the other. I like Watchmen, but not enough to get screwed. - neocr0n, on 08/20/2008, -0/+10What on earth are they trying to do? Give me value for money? crazy people!
- cadmiumpaint, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9they know that super fans will buy both.
they really don't care if they feel ripped off. they will still buy it and the studios know this. - Charlotte_Web, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9Considering that the movie hasn't even hit the friggin' theater yet, sounds like they're giving you plenty of warning...
- BestJaxx, on 08/20/2008, -2/+10It is getting really hard to wait for this movie. I'm re-reading the novel now.
- norman619, on 08/20/2008, -0/+8scheibs14:
That's no excuse! - geneticlemon, on 08/20/2008, -0/+8Get the ***** off Digg ...
- vacax, on 08/20/2008, -1/+9Bring back intermission
- Sryden42, on 08/20/2008, -2/+9You must not read much.
Great comic book, but honestly now. - mysn239, on 08/20/2008, -2/+9***** FOX
- axalon, on 08/20/2008, -0/+7The third DVD release will be 16 hours long
- kinseyincanada, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6i can not wait for this movie
- TheKingInYellow, on 08/20/2008, -2/+8just started? what were you doing 20 years ago? anyway, glad to know others are getting into it, too, rather late than never.
- maxsunset, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5Oh boy oh boy oh boy!! I can see the next major Digg trend already! $100 says that when this comes out there will be something on the order of 12 front page articles about Watchmen a day for about 5 weeks.
- happyfundave, on 08/20/2008, -0/+5At least they are getting that out in the open right now. If you want the deluxe extra long version you can wait and netflix it while you wait. If not you can buy the initial release.
- DaHuuuuuudge, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4If you can't hold it for 4 hours, you have a problem.
- bobsbones, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4To support decent cinema.
- NCg8r, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4How is your sandwich-based portfolio performing lately???
- RobotBuddha, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4In large part the cuts are needed only because of time constraints. And they almost never turn out for the better. I'm all for trying 'any' solution to the problem of movies sucking compared to their source material.
- TheKingInYellow, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4i always wanted to get production rolling on a 12 part animated hbo miniseries.
- MadEnvoy, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Not if I use a catheter.
- feb420, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4I just read it two weeds ago myself, it's worth reading. The novel only costs like 20 bucks and I am slowly in the process of making all of my friends read it. Even the ones that never read comics as a kid like it so far.
- splorpdotorg, on 08/20/2008, -2/+5Yes, the long versions. I waited. I also sent away for the box to hold all three box sets. I'm also in the credits on all three DVDs as I signed up for the fan membership.
- feb420, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3intermissions are the *****
- Shadoblak, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Because some things simply need to be experienced in a theater?
- happyfundave, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3ok I am sure I'm about to be dug down but I for one am glad the Black Freighter is getting cut for the theatrical release. Its great in the comic but film is a very different medium and it would only stagger the story to jump in and out of the comic book within the movie. I fully support it as a special feature or separate DVD but don't want it in the film
- shibbyo, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3life is hard when you're making rpgs all day
- happyfundave, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3as a person who recently finished it, the 2nd half is also amazing.
- diggerman32, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4I'd watch it and love it if it was 24 hours long... LOTR pulled it off (may have been 3 movies but still counts)
- kaijunexus, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3True fans bring cups.
- doctordbx, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Except they didn't defuse the scheme of Ozymandias did they?
- danc4498, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Lord of the Rings says "Hi"
- scheibs14, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Definitely read it first. I'm gonna lend it to as many people as possible before the movie comes out. Only $10.99 on Amazon (about 14 somethin after shipping)
http://www.amazon.com/Watchmen-Alan-Moore/dp/09302 ... - Ayavaron, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3The Dark Knight didn't have any one thing to stay true to. Watchmen's based off of one self-contained and near-perfect work that should be represented on screen as exactly as possible.
- bitterbug, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Wow, I bet he'd have more time if he wasn't reading Digg comments. Then again, so would I. *sigh* :)
- spookyttws, on 08/20/2008, -1/+4I started it using a torrented version, then once I knew it would be worth the investment I went out and bought the full 12 issue trade (or whatever you call it)
