- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Most people don't need this, but I found it tough to keep track of them at first since apparently i'm not the biggest fan, here's a cheatsheet for those that are as slow as me ^_^:
TPM - Episode I The Phantom Menace
AOTC - Episode II Attack of the Clones
ROTS - Episode III Revenge of the Sith
ANH - Episode IV A New Hope ("Star Wars")
ESB - Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
ROTJ - Episode VI Return of the Jedi - WeirdHat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's worth mentioning that this isn't finished and wasn't meant to be linked to by anybody until later. But here it is, I'll try to make the best of it.
- rossr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What happens if you listen to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" at the same time? ;)
- febryle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Add The Wizard of Oz to the Mix, man...IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!
Meh. - Teague, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting stuff. I like seeing all the pans at once after the scrolls in the first clip.
- dolby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This going to the front page. Great digg. :-)
- nate263, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sweet and cool and good and a bit nerdy.
- Ksuji, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why are many people jumping on the bandwagon of if it looks nerdy, lets make fun of him in ways it doesnt relate to what the article is about?
consider the possibility of this being valuable a group of people called "editors"? those people who cut, slice, add titles transitions, audio and fx together at least 10x the amount of the final film length to give you that 1.5 hr, or 3.
fun read, at least from an editor's pov. - Eaglet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, a lot of hate on this thread for a page that (at the time of this writing) 400 people found interesting enough to digg.
- killsomething, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dark Side of The Moon? That would be interesting. Anyway, I hope he updates the site with more stuff.
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I want to watch all six movies in a row when a crapy day comes along (And edit down 1 and 2 to save time)
- JuliusErving, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"six monitors / tv's?"
Read the site. - 404notfound, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Uhhhh yeah there's gonna be more stuff, somebody linked to this but it's nowhere near finished. Fatso."
- ngageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, just found this from a dupe posting on Digg today. As a SW fan, I say this person had WAY too much time on his hands. From a tech point of view, nice work on the site. Try doing a google for "dark side of the wizard of oz". I made my own sync'ed DVD and have played it at parties, still freaks people out to this day.
- kkuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a thesis in this somewhere....
- jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I honestly don't see all that much connection. When you have 6 movies all about the same subject, you are obviously going to get 2 or so of the movies to have a few similarities every few minutes or so.
- grendel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0six monitors / tv's?
- baltakatei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty cool. I'll be waiting for the torrent of this stuff. I think it would be justified since Mr. Lucas wouldn't ever release his baby in this muddled format.
- kurrent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0all 6 at once? sounds good to me. whatever takes the attention away from having to watch eps 1, 2, or 3 by themselves.
- TomJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anybody considering watching all of these flicks in a row should check out all of the imdb entries first, if they haven't already. The goofs are interesting if you like these kinds of things.
Flame on, haters. - freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wonder how long it will take LUCAS to get mad and tell him to take the site down... since he violated the DMCA and illegally ripped the dvds...
oh yea, stupid copyright laws, i forgot - DeVryGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting. Some friends and I watched all 6 back to back last friday, with the Clone Wars cartoon between 2 and 3. Clone Wars was by far the best thing to come out of the prequels.
- TechnoPops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dugg just for the clip of Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting Dooku to the soundtrack of "Jedi Rocks." Funny stuff.
- CrimsonBlood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wonder what this will do to his bandwidth EH? like the digg effect should take place soon ? maayyybee
- braden.beer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No jokes, way too much free time. I don't know why you'd want to watch them all at the same time... You think the audio would get pretty annoying. Maybe one long Starwars File, that puts all episodes together minus the credits. :)
- Cheyne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is kinda stupid, but I do like star wars. Digg
- Moose_Head, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I believe episodes I, II, III are exactly what IV, V, VI would have been like had George's budget been the same.
- Zabbawack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats uhh...and, with the...and, then theres the.... Ok WOW!
- Eaglet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, I didn't realise the page wasn't completely finished when I submitted this. Personally, I think just the opening scroll stuff is cool enough to get a Digg.
I'll keep checking back at the page for sure! - laughterkillsme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol, each star wars movie ... msot especially the new ones have a definate pattern as far as stuff going on ... action sequence to badly acted dramatic sequence ands o on ... but I don't think that when your stoned it'll be as cool as watching wizard of oz/listening to pink floyd .. lol
- RonTarson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2waaaaay to much free time...
- .Steven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Do they all end at the same time?
- pintong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How stupid. A complete waste of time.
- sebastiangomez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm a big Star Wars fan and I absolutely don't get the point of this exercise of waste of time. What was this suppose to accomplish? To try to make relevant parallels between the movies? Well it failed.
No Digg. - CompIsMyRx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"What happens if you listen to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" at the same time? ;)"
The resulting power will open a gateway to Hell. - etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone has too much time on their hands.
- Eaglet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Odwalla, the guy who runs the site wasn't calling himself a fatso, he was referring to the Digg submitter (er, that would be me).
- Stelmate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its just too bad that the new star wars movies all sucked. Its as though george lucas just gave up. If you want some real sci-fi watch the firefly boxset in a row. That how scifi is suppose to be done. George Lucas may have reengineered sci-fi in the 70s/80s but its kinda like the rolling stones, but people still go see his work and are blinded by how good his previous work was.
- radda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OMFG!!! 666 diggs!
667 now :) - squink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great digg
- PhantomBantam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah! This guy is from New England! (he says wicked). It's worth the digg just for that.
- znxster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HAHAH, sweet .. great .. dugg! ill be checking back soon for the rest of the page :D
- igutekunst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0goliath553, you're stupid! This site is what people want to be big. If 900+ people digg this story, it damn well deserves to be on the front page. If you don't like digg, get the hell out, and stop spamming us with stupid complaints.
- edifyquest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jesus loves you, WeirdHat. everyone else apparently thinks you are a nerd with too much free time.
P.S. Dugg - mseaton80, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice digg
- InitialDMP5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0True. Anybody who went to filmschool and studied editing will use common pacing and timing in their cuts. This breaks up the action and dialouge giving the audience a more enjoyable experience. This is why these films have scenes that seem to parallel but are not. Grab any 6 movies, and you will notice eerie things occur. I remember I turned on my tv and the radio was on, and on the screen was one of those insurance commercials, the girl looked up with a pair of binoculars right in sync with the song "I always feel like somebody's WATCHING me, by Rockwell". I think I almost choked on my sandwich when that happened. I don't think Lucas had time to make weird things happen if you watch the movies at the same time, he didn't even have enough time to write a decent story for the new trilogy...
- WeirdHat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just put the opening crawls clip back up, and I should be able to handle the hits now, thanks to http://www.coralcdn.org/
- Anubis2051, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool, but does anyone have a mirror of the first video, the one with the overlayed clips? Looks like he took it down due to the digg effect.
Oh, and all of you who think this is a dumb story, don't spam the comments saying "this story sux!" just don't digg it. That's what digg is about, obviously a lot of people like this story, otherwise it wouldn't have 1000+ diggs!
+ digg - mentor972, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This is GAY! You do that with anything and you'll "THINK" you see parallels. The editors did not do that on purpose. What a waste of time.
- mogdor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow. Just when you think you've seen someone with more free time than anybody else, another person comes and tops them. Well, I guess I can see a little entertainment value in watching the movies side by side, buy overlaying all of them together? What does that possibly accomplish? (when you're not stoned or drunk, that is)
