- unit001, on 04/08/2009, -3/+28The guy playing Bones did his homework when he watched Deforrest Kelly in TOS. The speech and mannerisms are dead on. If the rest of the cast is as capable this should be an excellent movie, provided they don't take up too much time showing spaceships going "pew pew" and CGI snow monsters. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see the movie but I have a nagging fear that I'm going to leave the theater muttering to myself, "Han shot first, damnit..."
- Wilddigi, on 04/09/2009, -1/+17The new ship looks likes an Applestore
- RUBallsingMe, on 04/09/2009, -1/+14FTW: "Then go get some more guys and it will be a fair fight"
- XnotAcitizenX, on 04/08/2009, -2/+15I am guessing that since it is a prequel I will understand most of what is going on, but I won't be able to geek out when Abrams tips his hat to the old "Star Trek" series. I really can't believe I am excited about a "Star Trek" film.
- atomicpoet, on 04/09/2009, -4/+15I am dying, absolutely dying to watch this movie. Star Trek deserves a proper rebirth.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10I guess that means they're going to have to replace the warp core every 2 years.
- fuzed, on 04/09/2009, -1/+11The McCoy clip has me sold. If they capture the essence of the other crew members like Carl Urban was able to do with the McCoy, it's going to be a great flick.
- kinghami3, on 04/08/2009, -2/+12Bones is brilliant! I can't wait.
- Tyrghast, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10"You will answer me!" and then he raises his finger and you hear "screeeeeeeeeeee" as a line of blood tears across Kirk's forehead
- spookyttws, on 04/09/2009, -1/+10"I have never been able to watch an entire Star Trek episode or film because they bored me to death."
Stopped reading. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -2/+10Aw, come on! They changed the door swishy sound! *****!
- ElGuano, on 04/09/2009, -0/+7Don't you just match speed with the target vessel?
- Octopie, on 04/09/2009, -0/+7agreed, the movie is coming out in Canada, so why can't the clips....
Oh right because Canada sucks....
Bury me down if you want to, fellow Canadians. But you know it sucks not to be able to watch clips for no good reason.
p.s. Or digg me up if you want to. - inkswamp, on 04/09/2009, -1/+7All of these clips have that forced, Hollywood intensity to them that I associate with hospital or cops shows. It's an obvious device to make you feel like everything the characters are doing is vitally important but it gets tiresome really quickly. Some genuine and self-deprecating humor in the clips would do a lot to spark my interest.
- SuperJimmyJimbo, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5NEEDS MORE LENS FLARE!!!
seriously, did they shoot this without a mattebox or is that cool now? - randman89, on 04/09/2009, -7/+12These comments suck.
- geekwithsoul, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5Nobody has seen Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. First it was Desilu/Gene Roddenberry Star Trek, and then Paramount/Roddenberry, and then Paramount/Berman. I've always been a huge Star Trek fan, but Gene Roddenberry was hardly a god, and even he made poor decisions sometimes (like leaving his creation in the hands of a frickin' idiot). While this may be JJ Abram's Star Trek to some degree, this is also looking a lot closer to *OUR* (meaning the fans') Star Trek than anything we've seen in more than a decade.
- mycoplasma, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5You can stream the original show at CBS.com
http://www.cbs.com/classics/ - darthvalium, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5"he did write the screenplay to Armageddon so he obviously knows how to make compelling realistic sci-fi movies"
That was a joke, right? - saulmora, on 04/09/2009, -0/+5The should have gotten William Shatner to record the sound "shhhh" and use that instead...
- mycoplasma, on 04/09/2009, -1/+5There's also a 3rd clip where Spock gets pissed at Kirk and Scotty because they somehow managed to beam aboard the Enterprise at warp speed, but they won't tell him how.
http://trekmovie.com/2009/04/08/3rd-star-trek-clip ... - Gee1004, on 04/09/2009, -2/+6It's looking less and less like Gene Roddenbery's Star Trek and more like JJ Abram's Star Trek
- Gareth321, on 04/09/2009, -0/+4Nope. They throw the ship out and replace it every two years.
- Jeepy, on 04/09/2009, -2/+6It's hilarious that star trek fans are being dugg down and people who say they hate star trek but like this movie are being dugg up. Good job JJ way to "re-introduce" people to the franchise. By the way Mi:III sucked so all you people praising him as director should know that's his only Hollywood directing credit. Although he did write the screenplay to Armageddon so he obviously knows how to make compelling realistic sci-fi movies.
I'm not saying he's a bad writer because obviously Lost is hugely successful but TV production and movie production are separate universes much less worlds. I'm keeping my expectations at rock bottom so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. - PhoenixAvatar2, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3I really hope there isn't much of that. It'd get old quick.
- Jandels, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3"Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence."
That's classic. - XnotAcitizenX, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3It has been updated with the third clip. Thanks!
- dannyboy84, on 04/08/2009, -3/+6Everything apart from one lousy poster...has looked great for this movie
- Zaggynl, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3Did you mean: fap?
You fap wherever you want buddy, just get a room. - inactive, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3Hmmm.. I find your ideas intriguing and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
- BossKey, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3I thought I was going to hear the bartender say "No blasters, no blasters!"
- artfiend77, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3One more of these videos with new scenes and we'd have watched the whole damn movie.
- Mookeh, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2I love Lost, but JJ Abrams really hasn't done that much for the series. He directed the pilot and wrote the season 3 opener, and that's it. Most of the genius comes from the writers and specifically showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (who did do some work on the Trek movie).
- JacksonYaya, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2Heeheehee
- mycoplasma, on 04/09/2009, -3/+5[SPOILER]
It's only partially a prequel. At some point, a Romulan from the future will show up and change history so that nothing that happened in the show happens. - Chigurh, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2Well if you have wings, I'm sure you could flap to your nearest theater to see it.
- CrimsonBlur, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2I am a huge Star Trek fan and I still like the way JJ is taking the franchise. What I've seen looks great so far. I also do not think MI:III sucked, sorry, I like that movie a lot.
- vr121, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2"i might throw up on you!!" " see if your so relaxed when your eyeballs bleed!" priceless!! the only character i was worried about not doing justice to the original was McCoy...not worried anymore. This movie is going to be EPIC!!
- Sangreal2007, on 04/09/2009, -0/+2guys, i just flapped...instead of fapped, and it was amazing.
- XnotAcitizenX, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3Don't want to spoil anything ;-) before they watch the clip.
- Konrad9, on 04/09/2009, -1/+3I already like JJ Abram's Star Trek a lot more than I like Berman and Bragga's Star Trek.
- lordmike, on 04/09/2009, -4/+5Well, it's definitely different.. I'm not sure Roddenberry would have approved, but it seems pretty cool so far.. I like how the "future world" is so similar to our own, just with better technology...
- hamishmacdonald, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1If only we could harness the power of the constant spinning he must do.
Then again, how precious could he be about this stuff? I mean, one word: Andromeda. (Ugh, I threw up a little in my mouth there.) - Tyrghast, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1They suck all the dicks. That's how bad they suck.
- Gareth321, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Should "have" thrown in...
Sorry, but that ***** drives me crazy. - ihlemic10, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Whats with the crazy lens flares?
- Jeepy, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1Yes, maybe I should of thrown in oscar worthy to sell the sarcasm.
- xSpy, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1This could be an okay rental.
- blacklilyninja, on 04/09/2009, -0/+1looks fun
