It all depends on what you watch and how much time you spend on it. If all you're going to watch is commercial laden junk, cliched tv shows and that don't stimulate your mind or emotions.. don't show an ounce of creativity and is only there b/c of marketing hype.. then yeah, tv, movies, etc.. suck.
Same goes for music.
I gave you a thumbs up on your comment b/c of your support for books, which most nerds/geeks don't bother with unless it's tech related. So kudos there. I just got done with Infinite Jest. and reccommend it.

After 2 or 3 refreshes it tends to work.
Once you get to the video page check out the source code. The second time reproductor.URL is set its set with the URL to the video. You can run that URL exactly how it is in your web browser in order to add that channel to your windows media player media list and play it from windows media player whenever you want. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2WOW! I know my attention span isn't shot, I just watched "Das Boot" while sitting on the couch, but I haven't really watched TV regularly in years. I find myself watching so/so movies on the computer with the browser window open. -
