Holy ***** - This movie is going to kick all kinds of Persian ASS - fyrehart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Saw it at a free pre-screening last night (ah, the benefits of being in college), was AMAZING. Very violent, but definitely had meaning that still sends a message relating to today's world. In that respect, it reminded me of V for Vendetta. Coincidentally, 300 has now replaced V as my favorite movie. I'm going again on Thursday @ midnight, this time actually paying for the movie.
Honestly I had a hard time distinguishing between CG and real film, and when I could establish the difference it was mainly because some of the shots that were done would be close to impossible to capture on film. - michaelb1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I would never download this movie for these reasons:
1- Good movies must be finacially rewarded (with ticket sales) to encourage more good movies
2- this movie NEEDS minimum 5.1 sound or theatre sound system. the bit-torrents I have DL'd don;t have that.
3- it would be tragic to watch it on my 20" iMac vs a huge movie screen.

Security was out in force with metal detectors to ensure no one was recording the event. They took away people's cameras and video phones.
Though the security stuff sucked the movie was fantastic. This movie is what Troy and Alexander wish they were. Probably one of the violent, but beautiful films I've ever seen. - str3ama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4try this (no bloatware from mtv)

The big ugly guy resembled the troll, soldiers working together to kill him and just getting thrown back(like the hobbits), etc. This isn't a bad thing, LOTR is the best movie ever. I can't wait for 300 to come out.
