- inetiatic, on 07/06/2008, -4/+45Blog spam crap, horrible article..and obvious 'digg me please' spam between his shouts.
- dpcdomino, on 07/06/2008, -5/+42Ironic moment after the movie. This woman, we shall call her Obese Mother, finishes watching the movie and heads out. She passes me by the bottom of the escalators and says to her obese children, one who had a lovely pig tail mullet; "oh thank goodness, the escalators are working! Hey kids...wouldn't you love to see a real pizza plant?"
Obviously Obese Mother does not get "morals" in movies.... - talkingwires, on 07/06/2008, -0/+17I loved the movie, but why is this spam on the front page? Are a couple YouTube clips and a rehash of a movie's plot all it takes these days?
- kenkyomausu, on 07/06/2008, -9/+24Perfect is a strong word. I don't think any movie is perfect.
- jack_of_knaves, on 07/06/2008, -0/+14Umm the scenes Wall-E watches are from "Hello, Dolly!" not "The Music Man." Methinks the writer didn't even watch the movie.
How the hell does this blogspam become popular? - rootsm3, on 07/06/2008, -0/+13Yea, because the social commentary was so subtle...
- loki440, on 07/06/2008, -3/+13. . .is the perfect example of a movie that's not perfect.

- tcpip4lyfe, on 07/06/2008, -0/+7This is a horrible article but the movie is really great and everyone should see it.
- gemredpanda, on 07/06/2008, -3/+9Was this written by a 7 year old?
- gcube, on 07/06/2008, -3/+9No kidding. Seriously, how in the world does this crap get to the front of digg? Disgusting.
- ran24, on 07/06/2008, -4/+9Wall-E is such a good movie :) Not only are the robots and their interactions cute, but there's cool little sci-fi things like robot backstabbery and a humorous yet saddening vision of the future human race. If you have a girlfriend, it's a must see with them.
- andypop481, on 07/06/2008, -0/+4I wish I could digg you down twice.
- badenglishihave, on 07/06/2008, -0/+4So go see it.
- SaintStryfe, on 07/06/2008, -0/+4Sorry your kid didn't get it. Sorry you hate Hollywood.
Take a moment and imagine what this film would have been like if it had been made by, say, Dreamworks. It would have been loud, obnoxious and had a gaggle of celebrity voices. There were TWO celebrity voices in Wall-E. John Ratzenburger, who has been in every Pixar feature, and Sigourney Weaver. To be fair, that was 1/4 of the 8 distinct voice. If you count "MACINTALK" a voice actor, which IMDB apparently does. oh wait, dreamworks DID make a Robots movie, and it sucked arse! Pixar does it, and it puts a gorgeous storyline, tight visuals and a reasonable plot to make a GOOD FILM.
Maybe you're just not use to good films, in the way the people in the film weren't quite use to walking. - Essefgy, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3Screw this spammer's link. Here's the story you should read
http://betteronme.blogspot.com/2008/07/hello-luxo. ... - evanct, on 07/06/2008, -1/+4No one will ever love you.
- bwdd, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2I feel bad for burying you because you took a lot of time to write that.
- SaintStryfe, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2I'll echo this concept.
- altinnovation, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2Yeah, By modern standards this is an AAA+ article.
- s0ny, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Man Im glad your not a movie critic. When you say a film that has a 36% on rottentomatoes trumps a film that has a 96%, and saying you've "lost faith" in the guys from pixar even though their WORST film by reviews was Cars (which still trumps almost every other CGI film by itself) you sir...are a lunatic.
- baldr, on 07/06/2008, -1/+3I've seen it three times so far too.
- ShadowFoxxx, on 07/06/2008, -0/+2It is a very touching movie, something that's makes you fall in love with an inanimate object. :) I want to see it again!
- Dorke, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1This is the ***** blog entry/article i have ever read. the person that wrote it might be a retarded 5 year old. good movie, though. dugg.
- Charlotte_Web, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1It was ok. I think it's a bit over-hyped.
Ratatouille is still my favorite, followed by The Incredibles. - kylerk, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2I'm fairly certain Pixar aims for an extremely wide audience, just like Disney did in his day. An attitude like that is why we get all sorts of horrible movies from Hollywood.
- poontangpirate, on 07/06/2008, -6/+7WALL-E Gamecube Mod!
http://smashum.com/resurrect-your-gamecube-with-th ...
WAAAAAALLLLLLE - zwaldowski, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1If you want to get all technical, the population of the starship Axiom featured in WALL-E is entirely composed of descendants of the 'evacuees' from a big city in the northeastern United States.
- talkingwires, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1Buddy, don't know why you've been dugg down so low, because you're absolutely right. "WALL-E" may not be 100% perfect, but it's head and shoulders above any other movie that's come out recently that I can think of.
Pixar has a strong track record. Their wost movies ("Cars", for example) stilll top other studios' efforts.
I've loved a lot of movies that have come out in the past five years, but "WALL-E" is one that I've already seen twice and will probably watch over and over and over again. - thekassette, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Ha, I just posted that upthread! Let's get it on the frontpage. Once again, just dial:
http://digg.com/movies/Pixar_loves_its_fans - braveryonions, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Maybe so the viewers of the movie can understand? Sigh...
- Ravatar, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1I think your negativity is rubbing off on your child.
- inactive, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2uhh, I took my 6 year old to see it and she thought it was cute. I thought it was aimed at her age group, so I didn't bother to analyze it like you. Are you retarded?
- richardhenry, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Well, doesn't this seem like fair practice? WTF.
- thekassette, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1Ugh, how did an article this thin make it to the front page? Well, as long as we're all here, let me point everyone at a really remarkable story that has slipped through the cracks:
A girl is so touched by the early WALL•E trailers that she films herself sappily crying at it (she has a thing for robots).
Girl posts video to her blog, takes no further action.
Pixar folks happen across the video and are so touched by girl's appreciation that once the movie's finished they end up flying her out to the wrap party to thank her for letting them know they were onto something special in front of everyone in attendance.
Digg here: http://digg.com/movies/Pixar_loves_its_fans - Misogyny, on 07/06/2008, -1/+2And yet if you asked most viewers what they thought, they'd probably say "oh what a cute robot love story" and then get into their SUV, the back-end filled with plastic Chinese crap from Buy&Large...
- richardhenry, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1You aren't digging the movie though, you're digging the article. It told me nothing I didn't already know and the poor writing turned my brain into mush. Buried.
- batmanz, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1I'm getting buried for simply saying it isn't my favorite Pixar movie?
- richardhenry, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1"Soon a robot probe arrives named Eve sent from the descendants of the long departed humans after 700 years."
Wait, this wasn't written by an eight year old? - mtrip, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1You should put that kid up for adoption.
- SaintStryfe, on 07/06/2008, -3/+3I think this one ranks just as bout as close as any film in the last 5 years.
- tenspeedogbb, on 07/06/2008, -4/+4Pulp Fiction
- banmaster, on 07/06/2008, -3/+3Indy #1 was
- cknyan, on 07/06/2008, -1/+1I don't think Speed Racer went far enough into Speed and his brothers relationship. Both movies are on par with Wall-E edging Speed out because of the surprises.
Also, the love story in Wall-E seemed a bit weak and needed the "save everyone" (not just humans) sub-plot to keep it from coming to a boring stand still. - kylerk, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1Sometime you have to go against large crowds when you think something is good.
If you only let the internet tell you what is good, then your probably only playing follow the leader on digg.
And by losing faith in Pixar, I meant films by Andrew Stanton in the future. I was so excited for this movie I purposely avoided the trailer for 3 months prior to the film coming out. I won't get my hopes up so high the next time. - Dumbledorito, on 07/06/2008, -1/+1For most moviegoers? Yeah, it was subtle.
It's also "science fiction" where the world is either a utopia or a wasteland. It's likely to be glossed over by many viewers as "future status quo." - diablo75, on 07/06/2008, -6/+6I'm probably going to go see it for the FOURTH time tonight!
- borg357, on 07/06/2008, -1/+0I agree that the movie is fantastic! But pitch perfect?? No.. For example. If all of Earth has picked up and got on a space ship, where did all the Animals go then?
