- cl2yp71c, on 11/18/2008, -1/+69They aren't sexy...when they're guys.
Now Kate Beckinsale...I'll let her drink my blood any day. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -2/+56Vampire fetish: you either have it or you don't.
- GamingForever, on 11/17/2008, -1/+32I thought this was about women vampires when I saw the title...
- Phawkes, on 11/18/2008, -0/+21Sexy if and only if they're hot chicks.
- Khast, on 11/18/2008, -0/+18What would Simon Belmont think?
- woofers07, on 11/18/2008, -0/+16I got excited when I saw Buffy, then it went downhill fast.
- JoeCool1986, on 11/18/2008, -0/+14yep, I've got it. Bring on the vampire Kate Beckinsale!
(wait, was she not on the list?? wtf?) - jschau2, on 11/17/2008, -6/+20Bill Compton I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Kerath, on 11/18/2008, -0/+13"Where's my whip?"
- kelalo, on 11/18/2008, -0/+12I love vampires, except ones that sparkle in sunlight. WTF?
- breakaway, on 11/18/2008, -0/+12What kind of a freaky sausage fest vampire collection is this?
- patho, on 11/18/2008, -0/+12front page? Really?
- Dalhectar, on 11/17/2008, -3/+14Either way, they are no longer well written, the dialog causes dictionaries to spontaneously explode, and the plot holes you can drive a semi through... Thanks for ***** up the franchise, please don't do this to the rest of speculative fiction.
- Kyora, on 11/18/2008, -0/+10Someone reminds me why this series is so ridiculously popular again?
- gfxlonghorn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+9Lizzy Caplan(Amy Burley in True Blood) has the most perfect body.... not a vampire, but she is really really hot.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+9So other people have noticed this idiotic vampire fetish among women lately... lol
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+9Sex has always been a part of the Vampire story.
- karmaroks, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8By blood you mean...penis blood?
- dezweber, on 11/17/2008, -2/+10I know! What's up with Sookie?
- Nicoon, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8I raise my glass to that.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7Neither sexy or not sexy...just overrated and overused.
- firealarmist, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7Seriously, where the hell is Kate Beckinsale in all this?
- praveenmarkandu, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7what? no Dr. Acula?
- liquisoft, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7Teenage girls agree: vampires are sexy.
Nevermind that they're technically dead, soulless bloodsuckers. The teen girls just like effeminate pretty boys with soft, pale skin. - Nateon, on 11/18/2008, -1/+8Seeing the Brad Pitt vampire reminded me how ***** of a vampire Tom Cruise was in that movie.
- MewTwo, on 11/18/2008, -0/+6If the vampire is sexy then it is sexy. I don't understand why this deserves a slide show / question.
- fuzzy889, on 11/18/2008, -0/+6So it's a gay list?
- cl2yp71c, on 11/18/2008, -0/+6You either have it, or it has you.
- garfunky, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6this....is....a.....TERRIBLE...article....
buried.... - revglenn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5vampires should never have been sexy. 30 Days Of Night is the only movie I've seen get vampires right in at least a decade.
vampire myths were meant to terrify and teach lessons.
early vampire stories were a metaphor for rape. as in you're not supposed to want it.... so why are girls so hot for vampires these days? - kelalo, on 11/18/2008, -1/+6From Twilight:
"He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare. His glistening, pale lavender lids were shut, though of course he didn’t sleep. A perfect statue, carved in some unknown stone, smooth like marble, glittering like crystal."
In other news, Stephenie Meyer rapes thesauri in between wet dreams about a seventeen year old "Adonis." - Plotinus, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5Sorry to be a pain and, you know, accurate, but Dracula was totally able to be around during the daylight, it wasn't fatal to him it merely limited his powers.
Most traditions don't have daylight killing vampires. The burning up if touched by sunlight is a hollywood addition (and even that was post Nosferatu).
They can't handle hawthorn, roses thickets or uncountable piles of objects, e.g. sand, rice, grain, which they have to stop to count.
Oh, and they're fictional. So they can be stopped by not reading any further. - seforbes, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5I actually like Tara. She cracks me up.
- Hardrockshero, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5I also get excited when I see Buffy
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+5A bite on neck ........... Sounds sexy !!!!!!!!
- KrazyGamerHead, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5Ok I might be a vampire n00b but one thing I never understood. I thought vampires couldn't go out in the sun, so how do we have these daywalker vampires, or is there something else out there in vampire lore that I don't know?
- Zandarrr, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5I have it. I love chicks who bite.
- kelalo, on 11/18/2008, -3/+7IN SOVIE---
You know what? Vampires are too cool for that *****. - cl2yp71c, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Too many niggaz, not enough hoes?
- Kerath, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4No, just since Le Fanu and Stoker. I would argue that, before Carmilla and Dracula, succubi and incubi were the creatures of the night most associated with sex.
- stonedgeek, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4I like her too, but I haven't been liking the demon exorcism storyline. I don't think she would've fallen for that *****. I can't wait to see the new episode tonight now that she knows it's a scam.
- aduzik, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4But if it weren't for Tara and her drunk mother, my friends and I couldn't say "this demon's gnawing me up something fierce" when we want to drink.
- revglenn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4He wouldn't. He'd chuck a cross and swing his whip... which is of course what anyone should do.
- Zuljin, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5lol Twilight
- Jareth86, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4Dugg for true blood. Seriously underrated show that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
- Ellipsys, on 11/18/2008, -1/+5There's always some plot device to enable a select few vampires, usually main protagonists and antagonists to do so. When its a protagonist usually its something like being "half vampire" think the Blade and "D" variety. It could also be some sort of "medical" treatment, magic, or simply age/power. Usually the antagonist either "steals" special abilities some how, or is immune to normal vampiric weaknesses because of advanced age and therefore power - vampires almost always grow stronger with age since their turning.
- Kerath, on 11/18/2008, -0/+4I don't think succubi and incubi are the basis for the vampire myth; rather they were subsumed into vampire mythology in the 18th and, moreso, the 19th centuries. Seduction was not a big part of earlier vampire mythology.
The basis for early vampire beliefs is usually thought to be a series of physical phenomena that occur in bodies after death, in addition to certain diseases. - wipis, on 11/18/2008, -3/+6Vampires are so Emo.
- Vzylexy, on 11/18/2008, -0/+3*Goes back to playing Bloodlines*
- thebadkitty, on 11/18/2008, -1/+4I've been a longtime fan of the book series (Dead Until Dark), so when the live-action TrueBlood came out, I was really excited to see the characters portrayed so well. Bill is ***** awesome.
Except that Tara bitch, who never appeared in the books. God I hate her. And not because she's black. -
