- Jhorra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20He'll be in there, but you won't be able to hear anything he says without paying an extra dollar for your ticket due to added DRM.
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Alot of people are bitching about how bad this looks, Micheal Bay is not the greatest director in the world, but this isn't meant to be an oscar worthy flick, it is gonna be some 20 somethings reliving the 1980s, and watching our beloved transformers and what they would have looked like in real life. I for one can't wait, and I hope it kicks ass!
- maggiemerc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Yes yes they're cgi robots and Optimus has FLAMES. Oh man the world is ending. You probably think the music in the 80s Transformer's movie is awesome.
Look this is a movie full of giant robots and explosions and it isn't T3. So what more can you want?
GIANT ROBOTS AND EXPLOSIONS.
And Michael Bay is directing so there will be a skin factor.
So sit down, shut up and watch big robots crush things. - 1337gmr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Ok the BEST pat was when (I think it might have been) StarScream was flying under the bridge and then flipped over, that sold me I rewound it like 5 times.
Now I really can't wait!!!!! - mecmermun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Hate to say it, but they look like Bionicles now.
...Yeah, they look like ***** BIONICLES. - sedition, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I'll wonder if they'll be defeated by a virus upload from a MacBook.
- kirakun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wonder if this movie will feature an ``upgraded'' Soundwave. They can't possibly gone with a cassette player, could they?
- cmgarcia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I dunno, say what you want, it's worth 8 or 9 bucks to watch. If only just to see what Bay does with them; good or bad.
If it's bad, I will end him, though. - goodbeershow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Did you drop your legos while watching these?
- allisonaxe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5regarding bumblebee, blame volkswagen for that: they're staunchly against their iconic products being marketed as 'war toys' (due to VW's involvement in nazi germany) and Bumblebee: Cybertronian Warrior doesn't fly with them anymore.
bumblebee hasn't been a VW bug in many, many years. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5When I read your comment I was going to bury it, then I remembered what a Bionicle was (I bought one for my kid last year) and let me say...
....so true, this is nothing like we had back in the 80's, they should have sticked to the original models, for us to see familiar faces (or shapes)
*sigh - Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah that was the money shot, I'm sold.
- maulrat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6This movie obviously won't please everybody - the visuals look good enough to suspend my disbelief = however i won't be expecting a plot outside of metal robots bashing the crap out of each other with a wee bit of damage to humans for good measure. Besides, they could have been bringing out oh lets say The Notebook2 - now that would be painful....
- Sultana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can't believe I'm really looking forward to this movie. But I am.
I just hope it's good. Loved the cartoons when I was a kid. I was the only girl in my grade that I knew of who did watch it... - robdiggity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And here I thought it had Leonard Nimoy.
- notmark, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Jalopnik had the first trailer front paged yesterday, but the second trailer is new.
- jsballardx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I totally agree with you on the Bionicle thing I remember my 9 year old nephew wanted some Bionicle crap for his birthday and I got him one and it looks like Bay was shopping at the same toy store as me. They look exactly like stupid ass Bionicle.
Bye bye childhood memories. - smithco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The 80's movie was awesome. It had Peter Cullen, Leonard Nemoy and Orson Wells. No matter how much the rest of the movie sucked, the voice acting of those three made it awesome.
- smithco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3And there's proof that Digg's spellchecker needs to include the names of all the Star Trek actors.
- maggiemerc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Beloved Transformers....I was a big fan back in the day. Had comics and action figures and pajamas and everything... Then last year I caught a few episodes and cried, watching my childhood reveal itself to be utter CRAP.
Same with TMNT. I mean have you watched the first episode? April meets the turtles because she's running from bad guys and face plants a WALL. And Shredder wants to beat the turtles by making people hate them.
Lay your childhood to rest and enjoy cool looking robots smash things. - Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Oh shut the eff up and go be angry and cynical in the corner. If you want the original series GO WATCH THE ORIGINAL SERIES.
- Matri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So he really will be an iPod?
- therealrico, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It will look badass, people need to relax, I think it will be one hell of a fun movie to go watch in an imax!
- bigfkncee, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9say what you want....i'm going to see it
- theillest1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Now he'll be equipped with flash memory.
- FunkyChicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't care what anyone says. Those trailers were freakin' sick! I was totally not interested in seeing the movie UNTIL now. If the new visuals didn't peak your interest, then you're totally lieing
- mecmermun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2
I suppose it's Bay trying to "modernize" the Transformers look... makes sense, since that's usually the point of remakes. - robdiggity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2P. Cullen = O. Prime
This was all that mattered. - jdaws47, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It doesn't matter if it's bad or not. The film will make gobs of money and Bay will direct again. Hollywood only cares about the money, not the quality.
- Ai3d, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Transmo-licios!
- TheProtested, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 Frank Welker ... Megatron (voice)
Peter Cullen ... Optimus Prime (voice)
there you have it there you go. - spikepeck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who gives a ***** how close to the original cartoon/comics? How can you not get excited after watching that trailer? Wow! I have not been this excited to see a movie since the first Spider-man.
- Sep11insidejob, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7***** you all I ***** loved the trailers.
***** I am no longer a kid. Transformers were not THAT awesome. Try watching an episode now.
I just wish it was rated R and there was a lot of death and hard-core violence. - smithco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, it will be a virus uploaded from the iPod, which turns out to be Soundwave's new form (can't have that old tape player)
- Busky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's not the aesthetic changes that bother me. I could care less what Optimus Prime looks like. It's the stuff that detracts me from enjoying it on the level that it's on: groan inducing moments like Tyrese screaming "Bring it!" and Bernie Mac's ridiculous speech about car shopping. I think the theatrical trailer worked so well because there was so little dialogue. Now, I fear a repeat of The Island with its stereotypical sassy black nurse. I would have loved to enjoy that movie but, man, Bay made it almost impossible for me to shut off my brain. I'm holding out hope for this one though.
- Petrarch1603, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6i hope this is as big as spiderman
- Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nope, I had all girls
- greeneyedmama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hugo Weaving for Megatron is the rumor. Don't know about anyone else.
- mongrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Me too - but Spiderman was made by the script, let's hope TF got a halfway decent writer as well.
- wisebob134, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This might be the rare occsion when Michael Bay actually lives up to the hype
- FunkyChicken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yep. Nice addition.
- Jerryskid02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well YEAH!!!
- tiredguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1geekgasms? i feel soiled just typing it.
- Rosco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know, I was never into the animated series, I was already into my 30's by then and didn't find any interest in it. But I gotta admit, this film sure does look mighty interesting, it's on my must see list.
- mecmermun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1-sigh- Comment spam.
Meant to add: undecided about the designs, still. - mogdor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You're forgiven:) yeah, most of us G1 transformers fans are in our 30s now. Maybe you were one of the cool parents who bought your kids transformers?
- cmgarcia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uh yeah, to a lot of people, it does in fact matter if it's good or bad.
- troyfoley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it just me, or did the transformed Bumblebee look WAY to tall?
- mds76, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Look, I refuse to compliment Michael Bay for what he's done to my beloved childhood toy memories. I am pissed that Bumblebee's a CAMARO, and Optimus has flames. I hate that Megatron has a blender-vagina mouth, and I will be all disgruntled when I hand my cash over to the zit-covered kid selling tickets on opening day.
That bastard has some nerve, huh? -
