- bruins72, on 01/06/2009, -10/+94I'm actually looking forward to the majority of these movies.
- Hetman, on 01/06/2009, -9/+65Cinamablend you fail completly at making lists.
Buried for being retarded and filled with movies most people do really want to see. - lesmalan, on 01/06/2009, -6/+49America doesn't care about Tintin so a film shouldn't be made. What astounding logic. Instead lets make a game about Halo? Can anyone please name a single remotely decent videogame-to-movie conversion? Max Payne? Street Fighter: The Movie? Tomb Raider? Doom? Mortal Kombat? These movies all sucked untold asses, yet we should add one more to their number because Americans haven't seen Tintin? Tintin is nothing like Lois Lane. He's an adventurer with colorful friends who ends up solving supernatural mysteries. He's European Indiana Jones.
- gdeanu, on 01/06/2009, -0/+34FTA about Justice League of America
"We all know there's no way this movie will ever get done properly anyway. Getting it done properly means both Christian Bale and Brandon Routh in the movie playing Batman and Superman. Not gonna happen."
Really its going to be tough to get Brandon Routh? - lis880, on 01/07/2009, -2/+32I think the care-o-meter is busted and why the hell wasnt that ***** dbz or street fighter movie on the list?
- cvraider7, on 01/07/2009, -0/+26I love the fact that they took time to make the "care-o-meter" graphic, but did nothing with it.
Except overuse it. - timothiuz, on 01/07/2009, -4/+28Nobody cares about Cameron's Avatar. Really??
- LucasVB, on 01/07/2009, -2/+25This list is horrible.
- juniorb, on 01/07/2009, -0/+21This list reads like it was written by my 15-year-old cousin who thinks everything sucks except for what he likes, and has to constantly remind people of that fact.
And why keep repeating the stupid Care-O-Meter if the score for every movie is the same??
Buried in an unmarked grave. - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -4/+24Dude, I'm seriously looking forward to Tintin. Loved the books as a kid and they are set in a similar vein to Indiana Jones. Given he respects the source material even slightly, Spielberg is a great choice for this. As long as there are no aliens.
So this article can go ***** itself with it's "nobody in America cares about Tintin". - HiImMikeCastro, on 01/07/2009, -1/+19Personally I don't think theres a need for a Last Airbender movie. The cartoon was so good in itself that its like watching one loooong ass AMAZING film, and the fight scenes are better than most of the action movies that came out this last year. The acting and writing were just spot on.
- KibblesnBitts, on 01/07/2009, -3/+19Am I the only one who remembers the Tintin animated series?
It was on at one point in the early to mid 90s on nickelodeon, and it was freaky, but good....and made me afraid of Rhode Island
and holy *****, why the hell is the care-o-meter stuck on the same god damned position after every movie? Change so it's as if you actually care about the article you are writing - angusware, on 01/07/2009, -3/+19Tintin is ***** awesome.
- technetix, on 01/07/2009, -1/+17Nobody cares about this article.
Inglorious Basterds? Give me a break. - coltrane68, on 01/07/2009, -4/+19Why put down Tintin? If done well stylistically, it could be a great all-ages adventure.
And Thor - Thor could be great or could be a major failure. The author of this article doesn't have any idea. - Fabbyfubz, on 01/07/2009, -3/+17I ***** LOVE TINTIN
- david4041, on 01/07/2009, -1/+13"Prince of Persia gets a lot of press because it's the first videogame movie with a real, A-list actor involved. It's true, Jake Gyllenhaal is one heck of an actor."
Uh . . . Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft? If Jake Gyllenhaal is an A-list actor, Jolie certainly is one too. - enantiodromia, on 01/07/2009, -1/+13Reading this made me hate every post-modern wannabe Internet "author" meme spewer even more.
- Pruvmerong, on 01/07/2009, -3/+15Dugg for being all on one page.
- thinboyslim, on 01/07/2009, -0/+10Who is this guy?
The movies he's listed that are in production all look/sound pretty damn amazing. Not sure where he's getting his facts from but Thomas Jane was never hired to be Jonah Hex, he just dressed up in the costume for Halloween and posted it on the net, Gerard Butler is Hex (for now).
I like the way he puts movies down just because he hasn't heard of the source material, "I'm far too ignorant to actually read up on anything so I'll just ***** all over it because it wasn't made in the good ol' US of A!"
Josh Tyler you are a first class prick. - sychodelix, on 01/07/2009, -0/+10Lots of these movies look good. And the writer is a snide, condescending bastard.
- Zarokima, on 01/07/2009, -3/+13I just hope M. Night doesn't ***** up Avatar: Last Airbender. It was the first great cartoon (hell, even halfway decent going by what I've seen of my little brother's shows) in a long damn time. There's no big twist so maybe he can do it.
- Heiminator, on 01/07/2009, -2/+12the fact that the author compares tintins popularity in europe to david hasselhoff disqualifies the entire article, epic fail
tintin is gonna be brilliant,my second favourite comic book series after astérix - inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+11Why these movies? I bet most, if not all of them, will make over $50 million. How about movies like Without A Paddle 2 coming out next week!
- KMye, on 01/07/2009, -1/+10In James Cameron we trust
- RSS14, on 01/07/2009, -1/+10I don't give a ***** about this article because it sucks. I'm excited for QT's new movie, and a lot of the other ones are good too.
- jmhyer51, on 01/07/2009, -1/+9No you're not. The author of this article isn't looking forward to them, so you aren't allowed to either.
Cinemablend, you are officially the Gizmodo of movie blogs. - Guspaz, on 01/07/2009, -2/+10Billions of blue blistering barnacles (or mille milliards de mille sabords if that floats your boat)! You can't be serious!
I had a great time reading Tintin and Astérix books as a kid. - LexWalk, on 01/06/2009, -8/+16Dugg - but the list is hit and miss.
- captainpugwash, on 01/07/2009, -0/+8Tintin rules, not saying the film will though , it's likely to be a childhood crushing experience voiced by Tobey Maguire or someone like that
- mr5150, on 01/07/2009, -4/+11 "Speaking of people we're no longer interested in: Hi to Sandra Bullock. "
that's just brutal.
and the ***** should lay off Stallone.
Buried for being a prick/***** about people....***** jerk just irks me.
Josh Tyler your a ***** Douche! - Duffalpha, on 01/07/2009, -2/+8Dugg down for the author thinking Arabs and Persians are the same race/ethnicity.
- Heiminator, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6did we watch the same two new batman movies????????
please explain further and tell me who your favourite batman actor is - CleoQKazoo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6I hope they get actors who can perform the martial arts as beautifully as they are portrayed on the show.
- killerofkiller, on 01/07/2009, -2/+8But I'd keep the Volkswagen.
- BarneyF, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6There are 300m Americans and 500m in the EU. So maybe Tintin doesn't need the US market.
- Vonzell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5M night did do the screenplay to Stewart Little 1. Cute movie so he can do something good. I just hope there are no intergalactic aliens that die from supersoakers or get stuck in pantries.
- EatingPie, on 01/07/2009, -7/+12The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the best Narnia book. It'd be too bad if Disney abandoned the series now.
-Pie - inkswamp, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5It's amazing that studios can justify spending money on this list of crap and still there's no sign of a Serenity sequel.
- CTK14A, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5The upcoming BioShock film had better be as good as the game. Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) is directing, with writing by John Logan (Gladiator).
- coldkill3r, on 01/07/2009, -1/+6Hmm, I may actually see PoP: Sands of Time. Didn't know they were making a movie about such an awesome game.
- dammerung, on 01/07/2009, -1/+6I'm not familiar with the back-story of Prince of Persia, so I could be wrong about the title character's heritage, but I know for a fact that Persians and Arabs are two different ethnicities. Just sayin...
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Whoever wrote this article needs a hug.
- honeybrass, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5my "care-o-meter" rating for this article is lower than his ratings.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5Why is Narnia on this list? They even admit it's been canceled... therefore not an "upcoming movie", in fact it's the exact opposite.
Nobody's going to pick it up once it's been dropped like that, flat on it's face with all the investors from AIG running away with dollars bills floating down in their wake. - kernel16, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5This article blows, Avatar has a lot of hype going on the net, Tintin is awesome, and most of the movies listed look/sound great.
- nukeleearr, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4looking forward to tintin, avatar and inglorious basterds myself
- gbates31, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5Uhhh.... how about Uwe Boll and Postal?
- chuckDontSurf, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4"Can anyone please name a single remotely decent videogame-to-movie conversion?"
Yeah, but have any of those had decent directors? I've never even played Halo, but I'd probably go see a Jackson-directed movie just to see what he did with it. -
