- reikiman, on 02/21/2009, -1/+80I can't imagine that they could do justice to what Battlestar Galactica has become under Ron Moore.
- tault, on 02/21/2009, -2/+70I still dont see why everyone is excited. They are doing another reboot. New cast, directors, and all. Basically they are taking a great show and redoing it thinking they can make money.
- AquaOSX, on 02/21/2009, -2/+64Another reboot? WTF. Just give Ron Moore the money and let him to a prequel or something.
- yillip, on 02/21/2009, -4/+56I wonder if Dumbledore Calrissian will be in it.
- oboshoe, on 02/21/2009, -1/+45If its a 2nd reboot, my interest is meh. WAY to soon for a 2nd reboot. Heck the 1st one isn't over yet.
If its a side story off the current generation then I'm all over it. - tault, on 02/21/2009, -3/+40I was happy when i first saw this. Then i read how they want to do a reboot? Isnt that was sci-fi did. If anything they should just give sci-fi a giant budget and have them create a movie about a specific battle with the cyclons.
- onukenji, on 02/21/2009, -1/+34If it's not connected to the currently airing TV series, I couldn't care less.
- Saitekc, on 02/21/2009, -1/+31I love the new BSG, I liked the original, but I know they will end up ruining this. The series is all I need, please leave it at that.
- HastyBoom, on 02/21/2009, -0/+26This is absolutely retarded. I think a lot of you need to re-read the article. This is for ANOTHER reboot.
The current re-imagined series is sooooo bad-ass. It doesn't need to be redone again. - smashingmonkey, on 02/21/2009, -0/+25Sorry, but BGS without EJO as Adama just won't cut it in this century.
- SwiftKick34, on 02/21/2009, -0/+25My original comment was "Damn Straight." Having now taken the time to read the article, I will not patronize this film if it attempts to reinvent the series again. You cannot beat Ron Moore.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+15Enough with the ***** reboot fad already. Jayzuz!
- darkheartlor, on 02/21/2009, -0/+14I was excited about this until I read the article. Who's the idiot who came up with the idea to do another reboot? There's no way I'd watch this just out of principle.
- Polishguy24, on 02/21/2009, -1/+14Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica.
- tehjabba, on 02/21/2009, -0/+13Or reboot the Star Wars prequels instead. Love to see them done properly.
Even better give Ron Moore the money to reboot Star Wars as a TV show. - svendm, on 02/21/2009, -1/+14Negotiations with Glen A Larson? .. What? But he had nothing to do with the new BSG? He created the original, cheesy, BSG!
Surely he must've signed away the movie rights with the rest of it long ago? - spyd3rweb, on 02/21/2009, -2/+14Battlestar has gotten more reboots than Windows ME.
- inverselogic, on 02/21/2009, -0/+12See: BSG razor
- sharkface217, on 02/21/2009, -1/+12By the looks of it, they're rebooting the story in the vein of the ORIGINAL series, which, if anyone has ever watched it, has only a fraction of the quality that the current reboot has. I'm afraid that this is a terrible movie (story wise).
- pixelguru, on 02/21/2009, -0/+11IMDB is currently showing the series at a lofty 9.1 out of 10 stars. That's the same ranking as Shawshank and Godfather, which are the #1 and #2 ranked movies. Anyone care to wager on whether a BG movie reload would get half of that?
- omnithought, on 02/21/2009, -3/+13We need nude shots of Grace Park!
- malfourmed, on 02/21/2009, -0/+10They already did and he is.
- smashingmonkey, on 02/21/2009, -0/+10Frak no... there will be no "frak" because this is not related to the series. Frakking shame too.
- Tyrghast, on 02/21/2009, -0/+9This is a bad idea.
Universal should be saying, in the words of the Bluth family, "I've made a huge mistake" - Chairboy, on 02/21/2009, -0/+8And they could call it..... Caprica.
BRILLIANT! - Unimatrix0, on 02/21/2009, -0/+7I don't think a lot of these people need to RE-read it...i think they need to READ it to begin with. Any current BSG fan can see this is a HORRIBLE idea.
- Alias1431, on 02/21/2009, -0/+7The series is already good enough to be 43 minute movies. Call me when Ron Moore decides to do a 12 hour movie with original cast members.
- inverselogic, on 02/21/2009, -1/+7Oh cmon dude, Back to the future starring Sean Penn with music from My Chemical Romance!
- inverselogic, on 02/21/2009, -0/+62?
- datagod, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6Isn't there a movie already in production, to be released in June after the series is complete? It is supposed to be the first two seasons from the point of view of the skinjobs....
- funklor, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6Unlike certain other series, I don't think people will gobble it up just because it has rek--Battlestar Galactica in its name. If this turns out to be an attempt to cash in on its name, they're in for a rude surprise. People love the new Battlestar Galactica in spite of it being named Battlestar Galactica, not because, it will always have bad connotations because of TOS.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6It happened before and it will happen again But now in Feature length movie format.
- sockpuppets, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5I'd hit it.
- cuppyCake, on 02/21/2009, -1/+6This 'reboot' fad is getting a bit out of hand.
- barc0001, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Exactly. Let's have another one of those please.
- Cybrwolf, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Roblub, are you frakking crazy?????
Did you NOT read the frakking article???
Quote:"The Sci Fi series, under the direction of executive producer Ronald Moore, took the premise and ran with it, incorporating the politics of war, religion, torture and destiny, becoming the channel's signature series.
The movie effort would have no connection to the series and would relaunch the story in a new medium. However, staples such as the characters Adama, Starbuck, and Baltar will remain."
This will do nothing but dilute the remade BSG brand. Then we all lose! - ed3206, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Universal should just frakking drop this.
- geewillie86, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Regurgitating the same story over and over gets old. There's no topping Ronald D. Moore's BSG. They should let it be the final word on the subject.
- Spoomeister, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5Mormons.... in..... SPAAAAAAAAAAACE
- Latigoliath, on 02/21/2009, -5/+9Dwight K Schrute delighted.
- BobSutan, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4She gets freaky with another chick for a second in Romeo Must Die. She was listed as "Asian dancer" IIRC.
- Frankyfan3, on 02/21/2009, -5/+9I named my new kitten "Starbuck"
Not to do with coffee.
I think I just nerdgasmed. - JBHasty, on 02/24/2009, -0/+3that doesn't sound right
- mgmirkin, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3You've got a point there... Horrible analogy! ;)
- Pwalex, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3Oh great, let Glen Larson ruin everything that Ron Moore has done. Just perfect.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -5/+8I can imagine this will be like Pegasus... there was a side story that didn't quite get into the script for another battlestar.
http://www.battlestarforum.com/ - mgmirkin, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3What the HELL is BGS? I hope you're not talking Beegees!
Methinks you meant BSG... - Unimatrix0, on 02/21/2009, -2/+5Oh for ***** sake, there are only four more episodes...get over yourself. And for the record, for the last 3 episodes they really haven' "wandared" anywhere. The fleet is pretty much stationary. The original goal of getting to earth has been achieved. You're like a boy having sex for the first time...in such a hurry to get to the end your missing the wonderment of the journey of getting there.
- thefarside420, on 02/21/2009, -3/+6So does SHUTTING THE HELL UP
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3"Who's the idiot..."
