They put two of the largest modern action stars in the same movie and make them fight. There will be car chases, explosions, slow-mo awesome-ness, and other eye-candy. And I'm going to love it. Not exactly, I believe the reason was Li wanting to focus more on "philosophical family oriented movies". Plus I heard through the grapevine that he felt he was getting too old for fighting movies- not as quick as he used to be.

Why can't Hollywood pair Jet Li with a good writer/director and stop trying to make him speak English? One of two things will happen:
1. The trailer only depicts the first half of the movie. The second half is Statham and Li fighting side by side to take down the mafias that have tricked them into fighting each other. Kind of lame, Rush Hour-esque except it's not one guy totally dependent on the skills of the other guy.

i completely agree, the problem with most action films is that there is a love interest that doesnt belong at all. probably my favorite action movie is First Blood, and the only women in that are the mother and sister of Rambo's 'Nam buddy.
Action movies should be about guns, fighting and explosions and they shouldnt have some girl that the hero suddenly falls in love with 20 minutes after they meet. - acex23, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3okay, I'm going to throw this out there... but I think this movie looks like crap.
The "assassin" shown in the commercial doesn't show Jet Li's face. It shows a face always hidden in some sort of shadow. So let me ruin the plot for you, Jet Li will end up being a good guy, after much fighting Jason and Jet will unite and fight a vicious crime syndicate, who happens to be both of their mentors, blah blaaah blah.

The transporter 2 had the most absurd martial arts moves i've ever seen in a movie, the suspension of disbelief was virtually impossible. Oh well, Jet Li awesome martial arts ability, and Jason's ability to deliver dialog might add up to a half decent combination.

- smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1eh, transporter 2 sucked, and there are plenty of bad big budget hollywood action movies made all the time. hollywood has perfected the formula to making movies that sell and make them butt loads of money (because of audiences like the retard who thinks anyone who doesn't like this movie is a pussy or something), but that is it. it still takes a great director and very talented writers to make a good film in any genre. there's no simple formula to succeeding in any art form, and great directors especially do not make formulaic movies.
