- sockpuppets, on 02/21/2008, -1/+108Girls Gone Mild.
- inactive, on 02/21/2008, -2/+104Who the ***** dumps toys at a daycare. Andy's a douche
- DrZocktahedron, on 02/21/2008, -4/+102I cant wait to see the G rated, dumbed down version of college.
- tekmonkey, on 02/21/2008, -1/+98Clearly Andy is not aware of the valuation of collectibles which appreciate in worth over time.
- goldenhearted, on 02/21/2008, -4/+93Through the years, I tend to get skeptical whenever I see Pixar's next film only to find their next work to be great pieces of animation.
So at this time, present day, I have nothing but to trust Pixar that whatever they dish out, it's going to be damn great.
With that said, I have faith in Pixar to give Toy Story 3 the same AAA quality that that first two Toy Story films had. - greenlight2001, on 02/21/2008, -1/+48Woody will realize that Andy has new interests, no longer in toys, but now in beer, porno and masturbation.
- merdiesel, on 02/21/2008, -1/+46I can't wait for this.. Toy Story is by far my favorite Pixar film.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 02/21/2008, -0/+43RIP Slinkydog
- blazes816, on 02/21/2008, -0/+40Especially magic living toys.
- ashmon, on 02/21/2008, -0/+38Andy goes to college and finds new "friends" named Beer Buzz and Mr. Woody.
- dotlizard, on 02/21/2008, -0/+37oh, just like an updated version of The Brave Little Toaster!
- Eminemdrdre00, on 02/21/2008, -0/+37Are Tom Hanks and Tim Allan confirmed for Woody/Buzz?
- stellamaris, on 02/21/2008, -0/+34It's funny how people remember the show "Home Improvement" as "Tool Time".
- underthebus, on 02/21/2008, -0/+33Andy's leaving for college? I almost teared up just reading that plot line. I'm getting so old.
- tastypastry, on 02/21/2008, -0/+28Most likely, they voiced them for the Super Bowl commercial.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 02/21/2008, -0/+28Look it up.
*spoiler*
Yes it is. - ostracize, on 02/21/2008, -3/+30Tim Allen must be desperate to do this one. I mean the guy's gotta have like no money left.
- jnorris441, on 02/21/2008, -0/+24There's a snake in my boot!
- gamer31, on 02/21/2008, -0/+23Let's see andy turned 6 in 1995 when toy story 1 was released right? well it's 2008 now which is 13 years later so he's about 18-19.
Looks right to me. - Typhoon2009, on 02/21/2008, -1/+23Toy Stories 1 and 2 were pretty badass for kid's movies :D
- spikepeck, on 02/21/2008, -0/+19http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120338109294075671 ...
- Eldorian, on 02/21/2008, -0/+19The toys find Andy and hang out as his place when Andy comes home with a girl. The girl leaves Andy and Andy goes into the mental institution because the "toys, they keep following me wherever I go!"
- slvrbullet87, on 02/21/2008, -0/+18Holy crap does that make me feel old
- TVarmy, on 02/21/2008, -0/+18Buzz then takes a deep journey into his own soul. Having conquered the known universe outside, can he go on to explore the dark metaphysical realm within?
- Scopitone, on 02/21/2008, -1/+18Disney's original treatment had Woody being shipped back to Taiwan after a toy recall? Yeah, I'm sure that would happen in lieu of being dumped in a land fill. No ***** Pixar wasn't a fan of that idea. Thanks for saving Disney from themselves, again, Pixar!
- slvrbullet87, on 02/21/2008, -0/+17I dont know about that wild hogs did pretty good, and he better have saved atleast a few cents from tool time.
- slvrbullet87, on 02/21/2008, -1/+17Even though you write like a dumb ass, cars was a pretty good movie
- dsmx, on 02/21/2008, -0/+16Not really, tool time was funnier than home improvement.
- DrZocktahedron, on 02/21/2008, -0/+15I love how this is on the front page. I still love toy story.
- KeepSwinging, on 02/21/2008, -1/+14Yeah, I was like 10 when it came out, I might be the only 21 year old in that theater but I don't care, I'm excited.
- mattwalton56, on 02/21/2008, -0/+11...They were pretty badass for any movie.
- Rippleeffect, on 02/21/2008, -2/+13Sounds kinda like the plot for Brave Little Toaster.
Oh the memories - goomba323, on 02/21/2008, -1/+12Lets take a look at how much Tim Allen movies have made in the past:
Toy Story: 460,000,000
Toy Story 2: 300,000,000+
The Santa Claus: 220,000,000
The Santa Claus 2: 150,000,000
The Santa Claus 3: 90,000,000
Galaxy Quest (one of his better movies, IMO): 75,000,000
Jungle 2 Jungle: 80,000,000
Christmas with the Cranks: 75,000,000
Wild Hogs: 173,000,000
The Shaggy Dog: 65,000,000
So those movies alone (his biggest hits, he's had a few flops in Big Trouble and Joe Somebody) drew in 1,688,000,000. Close to 2 BILLION dollars (add in his other movies, and he easily passes 2 Billion).
Now, that was just the revenue of his 10 biggest movies. So he ain't no Jude Law or Nicole Kidman when it comes to hurting at the box office. But I'm not naive, I know he doesn't always get a cut of that pay unless it's in his contract.
So let's take a look at some of his contracts (from what I could find):
Toy Story: A measly 50,000
Toy Story 2: 5,000,000
Joe Somebody: 12,000,000
Home Improvement (1998-1999 season): 1,250,000 per episode (27 episodes, so 33,750,000 for the season)
That's a little over 50,000,000 for just 4 projects.
So you are WRONG in thinking Tim Allen needs some financial help. He's probably one of the biggest draws in Hollywood when it comes to children/family movies. - staticneuron, on 02/21/2008, -2/+12*Woosh*
---------->His comment
---- Your head. - teejaay, on 02/21/2008, -0/+9He should be put up on ebay for this sequel
- ryan899, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8I would imagine he's making a killing on the royalties for Santa Clause 1.
- MattInChicago, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8Didn't we all learn that these were worth MAJOR dollars? From the sound of our friend in TS2 Andy could have paid for college selling these or at least kept a keg in his dorm room all four years running.
- sirbeta, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8If you have to ask that question, it's usually a good idea to consult a dictionary before actually going through with it and asking.
- NinjaBoy, on 02/21/2008, -2/+10This story sounds a lot like a brave little toaster.
- vptel, on 02/21/2008, -0/+8Does anyone know what time it is?
- jlj1958, on 02/21/2008, -1/+8Glad they recalled the recall idea. The thing that made Toy Stories 1 and 2 so good was the "growing up/loss" subtext under the main plot. I don't see how a toy recall can do it, but the being dumped when Andy grows up seems tailor-made.
- bthug7, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7I know but I feared being called a poser. I should have done it though, RIAA sucks sounds like something my 8th grade sister would say.
- ostracize, on 02/21/2008, -2/+9I heard they are off fossil fuels and are on to crystallic fusion. No more Double-As.
- gweedo767, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7That was Tom Hanks? It sounded NOTHING like him.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7That's the most ridiculous statement ever.
- gerbco, on 02/21/2008, -1/+8The correct digg standard response is ***** THE RIAA!!
- BigMan13, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7Andy doesn't realize the toys are worth big bucks because he never knew that the collector had stolen them in the first place.
- gstep, on 02/21/2008, -0/+7Pixar always manages to raise the bar for CGI. Hopefully they'll do the same for 3d because I have yet to see a good 3d movie. Maybe this will actually be cool.
