Toshiba in war with Blu-ray again with DVD extension

hdtvinfo.eu — Toshiba is developing an extension to the DVD format which offers video quality comparable to that produced by Blu-ray & HD-DVD discs. Toshiba plans to begin selling a DVD player based on the new technology within 6 months.

  • nastyboy, on 06/01/2008, -0/+0Pure guessing here (I think that's what happens in 95% of forum posts anyway) ... but is Toshiba trying to tweak its existing Vardia RD-A301 to allow for burning HD onto regular DVD media... or something like that? I actually don't blame them for trying. Because the Blu-Ray isn't being embraced like this consortium thought it might. FYI just search for the product for details.
