- jayakamonty, on 08/11/2008, -3/+46Darth Maul and his Dual Lightsaber anyone?
- magicbullets, on 08/11/2008, -3/+31I like the bit where the Ewoks get nuked at the end of Jedi. Yes, I am a fantasist.
- Digg413, on 08/11/2008, -1/+27Those parts in the prequel when Jar-Jar was not in the movie. Those were great!
- funkymonkey01, on 08/11/2008, -0/+22Or that bit where they torture Jar Jar Binks. That's the best bit.
- Chaotix, on 08/11/2008, -0/+17"3. ‘I Know’"
I noticed that while watching the old stuff again this past weekend. Hilarious! :) And perfect.
I heard he actually ad-libbed that line. Can anyone confirm? - micro506, on 08/12/2008, -0/+16I'm Harrison Ford, and yes, I can confirm that.
- bjdowns, on 08/12/2008, -1/+16What about the moment in Episode III, where Anakin's mask clicks on him for the first time, all is silent, and we hear those first haunting and iconic breaths of Darth Vader? Despite the mediocrity of that film, that gave me chills.
- magicbullets, on 08/11/2008, -1/+15I'd sooner torture myself than watch Jar Jar Binks again.
- DeadSkinMask, on 08/12/2008, -1/+15You were terrible in "Firewall"
- funkymonkey01, on 08/11/2008, -3/+17I think the opening sequence from a New Hope is the best bit Star Wars moment.
- Ebue1, on 08/12/2008, -0/+14The best Star Wars moment ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tim5nU3DwIE
- AmyVernon, on 08/11/2008, -0/+13only b/c he got killed off so early in the series.
- CLAWC, on 08/11/2008, -1/+14Anakin killing Mace?
Yoda fighting was great though. Who knew the little old gremlin had it in him? He went berserk. - DeadSkinMask, on 08/12/2008, -1/+11Vader: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..."
Oh, sorry, I thought this was the top 10 cheesiest moments from Star Wars. - solesoul, on 08/12/2008, -0/+9We care because its one of the few things the prequels did well. Yoda is supposed to be one of the greatest Jedi in the series, but the original trilogy purposefully left him mysterious. We've never seen the full extent of his abilities and we'll probably never get to see, but that fight scene was as close as we're going to get.
At least, thats why I care. - Haoie, on 08/11/2008, -0/+9I think the first Death Star battle was probably the most intense of the original trilogy.
The second was pretty good too, especially the escape scene. - Dumbledorito, on 08/12/2008, -0/+9He was completely disappointing because he wasn't allowed to be evil. He didn't do a single thing to make us care about his eventual defeat. He was just trotted out: "Behold, the villain! Dislike him as he dresses in black and looks all meanie-weenie."
Of course, had they made him an actual threat to Anakin, that would have cast him as a hero, pretty much; he would have saved us from Episodes II and III. - 335io07, on 08/12/2008, -1/+9When Vader cuts off Luke's hand.
- xtothepowerofx, on 08/11/2008, -2/+10i was pleasantly surprised to find that all but one were from the original 3 movies... i was totally prepared to be disapointed by this list..
ps. han shot first - Pobotrol, on 08/12/2008, -0/+6#1 - Millennium Falcon nearly eaten by big asteroid worm.
- xIrish, on 08/12/2008, -0/+6Poor list in my opinion, with some very noteworthy moments excluded. Perhaps it's because the items on the list are too specific. For example "Greedo gets it"--why not just include the Cantina scene as a whole? The most glaring exclusion from this list is probably Vader's redemption in Return of the Jedi when he throws the Emperor down the reactor shaft. What about the lightsaber duel in the Cloud City? The Battle of Yavin (the end of the first film)? Carbon freeze?
And for goodness sake, "It's a trap!" - xIrish, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5That didn't happen in The Phantom Menace.
- sockpuppets, on 08/12/2008, -0/+5The Leia nip slip was my favorite.
- runnernerd, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4Han shot first!
- oceanswillrise, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4damn really didn't see that number 1 coming.
- MCA2142, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4That's a good moment.
My favorite is this:
Leia: "I love you"
Han Solo: "I know." - dafragsta, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4No! That's not true! That's IMPOSSIBLE!
- crownedgriffin, on 08/12/2008, -2/+5Digg really needs a top 10 section so I can uncheck it.
- AlexanderZero, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3http://farm1.static.flickr.com/68/211725877_b6f6c7 ...
- levitron, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3And pretty much every movie after Air Force One
- MrCertainly, on 08/12/2008, -0/+3No...Han shot. That's it. There's no "first" to it. The poor SOB Greedo never even got a shot off.
- jstem1994, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I love all 3 original movies, and always seem to prefer Strikes Back. But I have to say, as a 16yr old of 1983, the Princess's gold bikini and lying at Jabba's feet was definitely a ...top moment... for me.
http://www.leiasmetalbikini.com/members/whatsnew.h ... - Whitey07, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I liked the first 3 movies, even though I'm not a fan. The second 3 were dire.
- Radan, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Really, while the prequels are far from the best movies ever made, they still got a couple of scenes which are just brilliant (and a lot that just makes you wonder about the mental health of George).
- sexybobo, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2The midnight showing of it was cool up to that point. the part where he took his first breath in his helm was awesome the entire audience was dead silent and shivers ran down my spine. Then he said that line and every one started laughing.
- Jacoolh, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2It was obvious what would be number 1. Buried.
- inefekt, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Very true. One of the great scenes in movie history, absolutely perfect.
- loopyloopy, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2i dont know about any list that includes a moment from one of the 3 newer movies in its top 10 list.
a couple from Return of the Jedi i liked
1. its a trap (and the rebel fleet turning back away from the new death star, one of the most spectacular space war visuals ever seen)
2. the final battle between Luke, the Emperor and Darth Vadar including Darth's final sacrifice, the most moving moment of series IMO - Millsee, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2He did adlib.
- baltar2008, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I think you meant top 10 ***** moments from Star Wars.
- Dumbledorito, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Only 10?
- funkymonkey01, on 08/11/2008, -2/+4It was a good moment, but don't you think Darg Maul was slightly disappointing.
- Portagine, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2I couldn't have been more disappointed in seeing Yoda jump around like a dumbass while fighting Dooku. George Lucas ruined my childhood by destroying the things I love.
- Soragon, on 08/12/2008, -0/+2Dugg but was reluctant to do so because of the big Buzz button and small Digg text link.
- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1I loves me some Star Wars, but this is buried because I'm sick of "Top __" lists.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1...but it feels so right, SuperWinner. So right, in fact, that I'm going to post my personal Top 10 Star Wars Moments for your burying pleasure (in chronological order):
1. "It's Skywalker!" the announcer(s) at the end of the Podrace - Ep. I
2. "We'll handle this..." said by Qui-Gon before he faces Maul - Ep. I
3. Anakin holding Padme's hand with his mechanical one - Ep. II
4. "Do it!" Palpatine urges Anakin to kill Dooku - Ep. III
5. "I loved you!" Obi-Wan to Anakin after their duel - Ep. III
6. "Run, Luke!" Obi-Wan's voice as Luke escapes the Death Star - Ep IV
7. "You're all clear kid..." Han to Luke in the Death Star trench - Ep. IV
8. When Han's carbonite slab hits the ground with a loud 'clang' - Ep. V
9. "No. I am your father!" - Ep V
10. "He's my brother." Leia to Han in the Ewok village - Ep. VI - daveloper, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1"It was the hardest thing we ever had to do"
hooo...poor boy...life is sooooo hard ... - baltar2008, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Spot on? Did you see that a prequel scene made the list??
- Minishark, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1That's sad. Star Wars was all downhill for you after the first 10 minutes?
- M724, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1If Star Wars had come out today, the scenes on the list wouldn't have been memorable.
My proof? The final hour of Revenge of the Sith had plenty of excellent moments to pick from. Why hasn't any of them appeared on this list? -
