- dagnabbit, on 10/11/2007, -1/+41What about that scene from Stephen King's "It", when that ***** clown lures the boy into the sewer with a balloon?
- unknownsoldierX, on 10/11/2007, -6/+39Anyone seen the Kathy Bates hot tub scene in About Schmidt? Scariest scene ever (she gets completely naked, and they show it.)
- sronbheatha, on 10/11/2007, -3/+36That scene in "Signs" where the alien walks across the camera scared the ***** outta me. Simple yet effective.

:shudders: - Br0wn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16BEEP BEEP Richie! They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!
- unusualbob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14especially at #19 Willy wonka- "Wonka's boat ride"
- TheProtested, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Dude, that part in SAW where adam is going through his room using a camera flash, that scene makes me jump every ***** time.
- dcipjr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11They did include it. http://www.retrocrush.com/scary/61.html
- AmusedToDeath, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12You shouldn't be - they suck
- NeoCortex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Yeah, but it was in space. everything is better in space.
Oh, and the fact that it had Sam Neill and Lawrence Fishbourne didn't hurt either. - mikesbaker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12dugg for :
"40 King Kong- "Kong shakes his big log"" - Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11#9 Exorcist III: One of the most underrated horror films ever.
The scene with all the cups of blood, neatly left near the body...
Shocks and jumps aren't all there is to good horror, and this movie proves it over and over. - 4degrees, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9dont you mean when the turn ON the fence and the kid flies off... plus that kid was far from fat.
- glamdr1ng, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I like how the boat ride from Willy Wonka is on the list(#19). Creepy and amazing at the same time.
- Elranzer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I'm glad they didn't include a bunch of jumpy "BOO!" scenes that make up 99% of modern mainstream "horror" movies.
- mikesbaker, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Did anyone else think that the sniper scene in Full Metal Jacket was more intense than the Pyle scene?
- doubledoh, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I'm too scared to look :(
- EvanVolm, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Glad to see The Shining on there 3 times. Though, I'm surprised they didn't include the "dogman" scene....
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c30/explodingkinetoscope/shining35.jpg - tehgoatman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8It is on the list, number 61.
- nottidredd, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9Everything floats down here! That is, if its mass per unit of volume is equal to or lighter than that of water.
- santiago1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8 The scene in "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer (sp?), where he's got that poor girl tied between the truck and trailer. I still refuse to watch that movie ever again...
- allywilson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Deliverance. Should be higher than 11. ***** terrified me when I saw it, I was only like 13 at the time - petrified.
- ACrazyGerman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8@TheRingmaster
Theres 6 things from The Shining
87 The Shining- "All work and no play"
76 The Shining- "Red Rum"
61 The Shining- "Furry Freakout!"
28 The Shining- "Here's Johnny!"
10 The Shining- "Room 237"
3 The Shining- "Danny takes a trike ride" - TheRingmaster, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11They included 3 from The Shining, but not the worst one in the whole film, the ***** bear-suit scene that has stopped me from ever re-watching it
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9This isn't the "100 sexiest scenes".
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12Sharon Stone in full frontal is your scariest scene? Please tell me you're gay.
- MisterRik, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Now that is a comment you are going to have to defend. Not relevant how? Because they relied on suspense not surprise? Because of their stunning use of subtle mise-en-scene to reveal the innermost thoughts of the characters without relying on trite dialog? Please, enlighten us...
- asa400, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Dugg for featuring an obscure DaDa art film as #6.
Un Chien Andalou- "Eye slicin' fun!" - sobe86, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6The only movie scene thats ever truly gotten to me and made me feel actual fear is in the Japanese version of 'The Ring' : Ringu, when the woman goes down the well to find the body. I had to try very hard to stop myself leaving the room at that point. That beats everything on the list (that I've seen) in my opinion.
- Billistic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Best part is, every scene on the list is on youtube!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSHTtM2G7bo&mode=related&search=
Check out related for the other 99 vids - AmusedToDeath, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7But seriously folks ... how about the dancing scene in Jacob's Ladder? That's just f'd up.
- readme, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6The scariest part of The Exorcist was the flash of the demon's face.

Scary as hell. More info here:
http://www.answers.com/topic/captain-howdy - Superc00kie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5What about the ending of Event Horizon, where professor Weir shows captain Miller what the "dimension of pure chaos" is like?
- nottidredd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The scariest scene I've ever seen was in Pet Cemetery when the baby cuts Herman Munster's Achilles tendon.
- djpants428, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"Large Marge!!!"
When I was a kid I would leave the room and make my parents tell me when the scene with her face going all crazy was over.. - mikesbaker, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5its spaceballs in french
- SimonGray, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The eye slicer scene is the first scene in the film. Watch the whole thing here:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2767804934128976249&q=un+chien+andalou - merdiesel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Akira- "Teddy bears are supposed to be cute"
Man that scene from Akira is a trip. The music it self creeps me the ***** out.
Also, after seeing 28 Weeks Later recently, I definitely think this list needs to be revised. - MewTwo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Hey man, that movie scared the ***** out of me. First off, I was little... and they had a bunch of hype around it before it came out in theatres. I remember going to the websites, watching the tv documentaries... all that. They did a good job of making it seem real. Then when I finally saw it I was extremely pleased with how well they pulled it off (if you could call it pleased).
- seattle98104, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4What about the scene in Mulholland Dr. where you see the decomposing body in the apartment? That ***** freaked me the ***** out like no horror movie ever has. EVER.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5"It" doesn't stand up very well to the test of time, but it's good for the era. They ran afoul of the "endangering kids" crap the FCC dishes out, so the experiences of the characters as kids were largely deleted. Add to that a cast that didn't seem to gel very well, and all that's left are some superb (for TV) effects and Pennywise (who was was well-done and well acted). I wouldn't mind seeing HBO take a crack at this and other King works.
- Van3ck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Deliverence.
Squeel like a pig boy...
*SHUDDER* - tHePeOPle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4That guy sure had a purty mouth.
- grzelakc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Lot's of good stuff is missing from the list:
* The ride to hell in Jacob's Ladder
* Many scenes from The Lost Highway should be on the list.
* The Alien jumping on the camera in Aliens (everyone jumped in their seats when they saw it for the first time) - operand, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4This is referring to scenes rather than the entire movie.
