- ttony, on 10/11/2007, -3/+63Thundercats are on the move, Thundercats are loose...
- TrueBuckeye, on 10/11/2007, -3/+61I can't help but think that this will be a whole new form of terrible. I liked the shows as much as the next 80's geek, but I can't see any way they can make a respectable live-action movie out of it.
- Atom, on 10/11/2007, -4/+49I dont know if i should be ecstatic, or very very sad.....
- ginrummy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+41Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder cats! *GROWWWWWWWL*
- Multislacking, on 10/11/2007, -2/+29The big question...
Who's going to play Cheetara?
http://www.cheezey.org/thundercats/gallery/cheetaragallery.html
My vote is for Kate Beckinsale. :) - kent1146, on 10/11/2007, -0/+26I gotta go with TrueBuckeye on this one.
As awesome as Thundercats was when you were 8... it just doesn't hold up to the standards of quality entertainment you have 20 years later. Seriously... if you watched an old episode, you'd think "Oh, god... I thought *THIS* was entertaining???" - RoroCo, on 10/11/2007, -6/+31Michael Bay... STAY THE F*** AWAY!!!
- TheThestral, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24I'm not worried about Cheetara. Who the hell is gonna play Snarf?! It's gotta be Warrick Davis!
- VaVegan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+22It's not live action, its going to be CGI!!!
- fober, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21I hear Fergie has signed on to play the role of Lion-o.
- fluidfoundation, on 10/11/2007, -5/+21So we sat here at work trying to come up with cast fits, just based on looks
Lion-o: Owen Wilson
Panthro: Michael Clark Duncan or Ving Rhames
Mum-ra: Gary Oldman (as the shriveled mummy version.... remember Dracula?)
Cheetara: Beckensail? Alba?
I wanna see lunitacs. - Multislacking, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Looks like the story on Variety has been revised from describing it as a "live action feature" to now a "CGI-animated feature".
Thinking about Rebecca Romijn's role as Mystique and how hot she was, I would have loved to see a real life actress playing Cheetara. - caddyalan, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Back then, I thought the show was fairly cool. Watching it around age 25 was a painful experience. (And it made me not want to dig up "Silverhawks.")
- theghoul, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10I'm suprised no one brought this up.

Thank you family guy - C00001, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11@ fluidfoundation
the thought of owen wilson as lion-o makes my soul hurt. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9good lord, is that Wesley Snipes?
- cbrophy78, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8And MPAA wonders why piracy is so rampant, they can't come up with a decent idea on their own. So, I won't come up with a decent dollar to pay and watch my childhood being raped by Hollywood.
- ptFoe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8***** Hollywood just remakes, no originality.
- Dpack1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8What the ***** is a salmon flange?
- buff01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I loved the show when I was a kid, but I have to admit after seeing it recently--- Thundercats sucked. The stories and voice acting were ridiculously bad. Besides, why does there need to be a movie that ruins every single childhood memory?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7This nostalgia movie business is getting out of hand. It seems every old cartoon is getting a movie. How long until Biker Mice from Mars get optioned?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Does anyone remember "Star Blazers"? That's one I'd like to see hit the big screen. Or maybe a show on SciFi........
- dodus, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Hollywood, please stop whoring out my childhood and come up with some new ideas.
- lokier, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6my youth is slowly being chewed up and fed back to me.
- Shultzman, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10They have to be careful how they do the costumes and live action... Otherwise it could easily look like Thundercats the Musical!
- flippedcracker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8"Studio has optioned a script by tyro scribe Paul Sopocy to turn the popular 1980s animated series and toy line into a CGI-animated feature."
it's not going to be live action, it's CGI. - Aokami, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9You and like 8 billion other furries I'd bet
- epilonious, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9I am hopeful, as we are one step closer to a Jem* and the Holograms movie.
The hair eats whole galaxies. - sanman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I'd like to see Robotech done as a live-action movie. That was the best of the 1980s animated golden era, imho. Besides, they have the best theme score in all of sci-fi:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuWlcZRuiVI
Battloids. You can't think up a more hardcore ass-kicking military concept than that. - Crosshare, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Anna Nicole is already dead, wouldn't work.
- Tazmaster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I would love a "V" remake.
- foosgod69, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8wow... I don't remember Cheetara being so damn skanky...
- Netmindstorm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8"Does anyone remember "Star Blazers"?
Bring on the Wave Motion Gun. That show was pretty sweet back in the days. Thanks for reminding me how much I missed it. - chiliwilli, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5i have the feeling that you created a user account just so you could add that message
- jgreene777, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond sight! oh dear God! this movie is going to suck... and ruin the childhood memories of millions (okay, maybe hundreds) of fanbois!
- theOster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5the classic bloopers:
http://www.fugly.com/audio/19/thunder_cats_bloopers.html - rarson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Someone sitting in a room trying to come up with movie ideas had a revelation:
"The kids who used to love this show are now older and have plenty of money to blow."
Edit: after listening to the bloopers audio, the absolute best movie they could make would be an animated version of something exactly like this. - im3ngs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Sounds like someone is going to lose ALOT of money.
- zonk3r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Bbbbut... Lion-O!
- madrid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I think it's safe to say that Hollywood is trying to cash in on the adolescence of Gen X/Yers.
- colonelDebugger, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Was the other choice in this toss up Police Academy 27?
- TheProtested, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4uh? the olsen twins? yeahhh....i dont think wileykit and wileykat need to be played by two of hollywoods biggest ***** ups.
- NeoCortex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Why is everything a ***** prequel/origin movie now? Can't we just start off with ass-kicking Thundercats and just accept that they are who they are.
Oh, and Holloywood: Come up with some original ideas please. No more remakes of classic films, classic TV shows, nostalgic cartoons, or Disney theme park rides. It seems like at least 75% of the big budget movies lately are rehashes of stuff we've all seen and already enjoy. - BigDaddyBucyk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2and back dat ass up with.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AJWRPaKHxQ&mode=related&search=
- stopple, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I should have known the terra-tor didnt mean us any harm when the sword of omens didnt obey me! And anyways, it was just plain stupid to assume it might be bad... just what the ***** am I talking about??
- livestradamus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Smurfs movie, as a comedy, would be brilliant!
- phuzzy3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Scarlett Johannsen as Cheetara
- RobotCitizen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Jessica Biel has to be Cheetara. She's got the perfect hardbody physique for the role.
- modifiedbears, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Who remembers when this http://www.brutesquad.com/Movies/Thundercats/thundercats2.JPG made the rounds on the net? It got me excited. It's good to see it's finally going to happen.
- drummerjed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Cobra!
